If the worst case scenario is true, I don't think it really matters that much tbh. Getting into a bike accident while stoned and lying about it is really nothing in comparison to the serial domestic abusers they let play in the league.

True Story: I live in Philly and moved here around 2002. The very first day I got here, I drove around different blocks in in Center City in broad day light just checking the city out. As an immigrant, this was a cool exercise for me to get to know the city. The last street I remember getting on to before my "incident" happened was on Christian street. I found myself in a the middle of a drive-by shooting and the car involved was directly behind me. Luckily, I did not get hurt but my VW Passat was riddled with at least a dozen holes. I have tried to retrace my tracks back to that same spot for 20 years and I cannot find this intersection that this happened. If not for the holes in my car, I would have convinced my self that I made it up because that night, I checked the news and there was no reporting of any shooting whatsoever. Being in a new place can cause you to feel even more disoriented and abandon your bearings when a traumatic event occurs. This is not to say that I believe KO or do not. But his story is very familiar to me.

I remember when i got hit by a car, a cop yelled at me because i was stuttering to answer his question like a minute after i got hit by a car (he happened to be in the intersection) and i yelled at him back saying “i just got hit by a car wtf do you want from me”
Cops gonna cop. I'm on the other side of the planet from Philly and the exact same thing happened to a couple of friends of mine. Literally took a statement while they were IN a smashed up car, with dislocated arms, shoulders, broken leg.

When my mom was a teen she hydroplaned and flipped her car off the side of the road, got out, walked all the way to her house, and started talking to her parents casually in a complete daze. And that was an accident that didnt even injure her. Idk if hes lying or not, but people do indeed get disoriented and confused.
Yeah, I was in a minor car accident, and I was completely dazed and in shock.
I guess everyone’s different my cousin flipped the car with me in passenger and he was a complete daze but for me everything became almost super focused. I immediately thought about we needed to get out and started looking for ways, had to snap him out and help get him out thankfully neither of us were hurt either

I lived in Philly my whole life until 2 years ago. It's not hard to believe someone that just moved to the city wouldn't be familiar with every intersection, especially in center city and wouldn't get them mixed up. Personally i don't see anything that points to kelly lying,

To the question of "why is his door unlocked?" He is a millionaire living in an upscale condo building with security and all the neighbors are relatively wealthy enough not to enter their neighbors' homes. It is more common than you would think.

I would pay attention to what they are saying. They said he was disoriented, but did not say AFTER he got hit. It could very much mean that he was disoriented prior to getting hit.

He was treated by medical responders and was brought to a hospital. There were eyewitnesses of the incident and there should be a record at the hospital when he checked in. Every point of Oubre's story lines up. I'm not sure why people are skeptical about this story if the only people saying it didn't happen are a potentially incompetent police department.

I think Oubre and his team could've easily sent the footage to TMZ. Everyone trying to be Sherlock Holmes when this situation isn't that deep. And I believe Oubre. Plus the Philly police don't have that great of a reputation, so I put no weight into what they think. If they're having a hard time finding evidence, then they'll easily turn on the Victim and try to put it on them. You can tell when people don't know anything about Philadelphia

Ive never been hit by a car, but i have been run over by someone in public and hit my head on the ground, not crazy hard but enough to rock me. When we recalled the story later that night i was a few blocks off when i said where it happened. All im saying is something similar happened to me, idk what happened but if he’s hurt i hope he gets better.

When your hit by a car, you get disoriented. Its like waking up from a dream and your brain trying to process or believe it actually happened. I was hit when i was 8 or 9 years old. When i got up, i told the guy that i was good he could leave. He ended up calling my mom and police and ems. I ended up staying 4 nights in the hospital because i had a bad concussion and bruised/broken ribs and road rash.

If the medics treated him at the scene wouldn’t that be documented and they could get the footage from that area? If you want to go the “he got the streets mixed up theory” isn’t that easily answerable if he was treated by emts they would have it all documented right? Or am I crazy
That's what I thought at first but, if he was on a bike, it is also possible that the 'accident' happened elsewhere and he was in shock and rode off thinking he was fine before he started feeling the pain and called for help or something like that.
He wasn’t treated at the scene though. That footage of him walking through his door with that bike is before receiving any medical treatment.

Cop let me walk off, and I stumbled off to a nearby store to call someone to pick me up. And they could tell over the phone I wasn't thinking straight.

I don't do any of those things because I specifically try to avoid injuries.

If a car hits you to a point that a rib was broken, it is more than enough to disorient you. I was once struck by a card running at over 100mph, I was able to take a step back thus only my left shoulder was hit by the roof (near the side mirror) but it was still strong enough for me to do a 360 in the air (or more than that).
I hit the ground, had a flashback then I heard people screaming and that's when I stood up acting like nothing happened but I was disoriented for a good 10 to 20 minutes (I couldn't even find my flip flops).
Being hit like Kelly, I suspect that he was also able to take a step back but since he is taller, he was hit at his stomach area.
I think you could get hit by a car walking.. and still ride your bike home. People park their bikes all the time in the city. If he went to the hospital, then got out, maybe he grabbed his bike on the way back to his apartment. Seems reasonable
I liked how he was playing for Charlote, I could see great potential on him. I was very happy to see how well he was playing this season as a starter for the 76s. Whatever happened to him, it´s very sad and I hope he can come back soon.
The Ring footage leaking was weird, but there are a couple key things for law enforcement. Of course the video file establishes a clear time Oubre returned home post-accident, but also indicates the existence of footage to confirm when Kelly Oubre had last left his apartment (either just before he was scheduled to arrive for gameday or earlier if he did do other activities) and when/how he left his apartment after the video we see (which would contain anything that contradicts is story or details that don't make sense like if he changed clothes). I wouldn't lean on the description of "disoriented" too much; that's very normal for someone who just suffered a serious injury, such as a fractured rib. If he did go home, hatch an elaborate ruse, then go out to a fake crime scene and wait for paramedics to treat him; that would almost certainly require he no longer be in shock from his body's initial trauma response. It is also possible the officer mistakenly inferred Oubre was walking after asking "were you driving to the arena?" Clearly we're in the middle of the process, so I think it's best to hold off judgements and focus on Jaden Springer being pretty cool too.

The ambulance crew can clear up the location because they treated at the location so just contact the ambulance company for their treatment log and since they can't give names use the time sheet and treatment log to match up when and where they treated Kelly.
Hit by a car or falling off a bike onto concrete can cause a concussion and thats why he was not acting normal so it doesn't automatically mean he was on something.
It may come down to him being cut off or nearly being hit by a car causing him to fall and get hurt. There can be multiple ways this happened
Different states and cities have different laws for bike riders and he could have not known that and put himself in harms way. He could have hit the car or the car turned to sharp hitting his tire and knocking him to the ground without the driver knowing it. Literally a thousand different what if situations. I just hope he wasn't lying especially to his teammates and coaches because that could get him released and unable to find another NBA team willing to deal with him meaning his career is over and right as he was playing his best basketball in his career.

I was riding an escooter this summer near Toronto. I remember riding by a Volvo dealership because my wife got her SUV there. The next thing I remember is waking up in a hospital 1 day later all busted up. Apparently, the accident happened nowhere near that Volvo dealership.

Having just been hit by a car on my bike, as someone who’s ridden gravel and road for years, until there’s defining evidence that he didn’t get hit, I’m going to go with he got hit. Imagine being confused after getting hit by a car. I’ve been so concussed that I couldn’t tell you what day it was, much less what street it occurred on.

Lived in Philly for four years. Got hit by car on bike two weeks into being there. My cousin was slammed into on her bike and broke her tailbone. Getting hit on a bike is a right of passage.
