Another scheme change you'll notice with Zimmer is bringing back the over front similar to Jimmy Johnson's 4-3 Over defense from the Cowboys best days where the 3Tech aligns to the TE's side
He can hit hard,tackle, cover and get to the QB Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper 6’2, 227 lbs 33" arms finished his 2023 season with 83 total tackles, 8 sacks, 2 FF. PFF highest graded LB in 2023 (90.8) All 32 teams met with him at the shrine bowl
Derrick Henry and LB needs to be priority and then getting bigger and nastier up front
And if we got King Henry, I’d draft a fast RB like Jonathan Brooks. He might need the first season off to finish rehabbing but he IS AN ABSOLUTE STUD!

Get me Derrick Henry or Saquon Barkley and LB in Free Agency. DT and OL need to be priorities in the draft.

Bobby give Micah a chance to prove himself this season and step up, just like you trust Lamb to do
The team should select their own captains/leaders.. it works out perfectly the guys they select are the hardest working, most dependable/disciplined guys on the team AND they just so happen to be your best players
Don't forget you cut Harper a middle linebacker at the beginning of the year and you needed lbs then.
Harper was just a guy. He wasn’t a smart player that could line everyone up and hit the right gap. They had 2 guys on the P.S that were just bodies too. They refused to even try it.
I keep saying bring in Bobby Wagner if the price is right. Sure, past his prime. But need that leadership to help most likely a very young LB group if you draft them this year vs bringing in vet LBs.
Shows how important having two strong fast linebackers, greenlaw gos out and KC attacked that position we don't know to that.
My all Zimmer team: Junior Colson , Jonah Elliss, TJ Tampa, Adisa Isaac, Edgerrin Cooper, Kool Aid or Chop Robinson/ give at least 2 or 3
Hopefully next season we have permanent captains. Hated the rotating captains. Pick ones at the start and let it ride.
Mike Zimmer is going to make these "boys", men. He will bring some toughness, some accountability, eliminate excuses, and take what Dan Quinn had done with "Culture", and turn it into leadership and command. Taking a more serious and technical work ethic and execution. Make men do their jobs, and do it better.

It doesn't matter who the coaches are when you have so many individuals that play for themselves and not the team. They are too soft and distracted to be willing to do real work. Social media has ruined team sports and Jerry's circus atmosphere makes it impossible to get the best out of the real players..
Get rid of them trade them and get real pro athletes instead of athletes that think they are entitled
I agree; personally, I’d pull a Jimmy Johnson and trade Micah to some team that’s got a lot of Draft picks and also huge Cap room. And there are a few of them around but that deal would take Jerry’s OK and he’s lost his taste for being a gambler.

The point of Captains, is to have men, who are consistently putting in work, consistently execution, and a leader of men, from game one, to the end.
Captain has to be earned, over a whole season. Not game to game. Because it degregates the meaning of Captain. Of true leadership. Of true leadership.
Period.
Look at the military.
Compare that to today's football.
You either have it, or you don't.
Period.
Making yourself better, and making others around you better, game after game, is just a foundation of leadership, ie, Captains.
But it starts with the Coaches, and it runs up the pipeline of hierarch, to the GM, to the owner.

Funny watching this knowing it doesn’t matter. Cowboys will still be the same disappointment.

You are correct @donniecollins2005. Quinn did a great job in dallas, a players coach. Zimmer is not coming to be any players friend. He will push players and push. Alot of the players probably won't like him, but I believe they will respect him. I think there will be some struggles at 1st. But Zimmer will get the defense hitting. Dlaw will not be talking about TIRED players come postseason.
