      Ive stood under an 18000lb boring mill table dangling from a chunk of chain to hand wipe it with a rag before putting it back together. I just got a solid handle on 2" black pipe yield strength. Learnt it for the gubner banded the math books

    The more I watch you the more I am reminded of my former boss/mentor/all around great guy who taught me how to be a craftsman and care about the quality of my work. He was from Missoula, MT and lived and worked in and around my hometown in the south coast of MA. Lucky me, love your stuff, amazed at the plethora of talents that you possess, thanks for sharing and saving a dying art!!

    As someone who grew up staring at the picture of the wagon train on the Boraxo soap that my dad almost exclusively used, and now drive past the mine on a regular basis, it's nice seeing you work on these, and I am happy that they were smart enough to pick you to repair them!

    fantastic video i'm so pleased you changed back to normal abrasive blade , in my long years as a general engineer and blacksmith I have seen all types of so called time saving attachments and mostly the old ways are the best keep going my friend love your work :)

    it was impressive to see the hub deflection in the rear wheel when you put it on the stand. It speaks to how loose the wheels really are

    NO DOUBT, you sir are very experienced and skilled in your use of your winch assembly. I hope you understand my concern as it would be awful to find you down from the very heavy items with which you have to work with and around. Always love the fact you do such great work with things that NOT MANY people have the knowledge and skills that you still have to share with us and we enjoy the journey and finished products that you have worked so hard to repair or rebuild.     I just realized how small your shop looks to be. I work in a machine shop that is approx. 6 times the size to 10 times the size seen in your videos. Granted, the part of the shop I normally work within is about the same approx. size seen for the inspection department(something approx. 40 to 50 feet wide by 160 to 200 feet long). I am amazed by how much work you can get accomplished with such a small workshop. Goes to show how a well laid out shop can make a world of difference, wouldn't you say?

      It wasn't the procedure it was the lifting frame material and it's design. People were simply concerned for his saftey.

    I'm glad to see those dual winches working out well for you. When I was running a metal shop, we used to flip large mild-steel hoppers the same way. Just takes a bit of care, and a lot of common sense. The hoppers weighed 4 tons each. Keep up the good work👍

    I admire this work because, from my point of view, the wheels are huge, very heavy and ultimately worked by only one person. Great, clever work.

      you will hardly be able to influence my opinion of the work through the clothing. There may be a stigma for it in the States, but I look at people based on their performance, not whether they're wearing designer work clothes.
      Go to the bathroom, fart yourself out, have another drink, go to bed, and then we'll talk again tomorrow when you're sober.

His specialized knowledge retained as part our American history. Instead... instead... he puts on Jean pants... then a Jean shirt every day. I honestly and just shocked that anyone would alow themselves to be photographed in this state... I hope his family sees these videos and get him back together. His shattered pieces returned to a coherent whole.

    I bought a diamond wheel for my 4&1/2 grinder for cutting 1/2 inch rebar. It took over 5 minutes, when the regular grinder disk to about 30 seconds.

    I agree with John Adams, Cubitron products are first class, never had any success with diamond cutting discs except when using them on concrete etc.
    Still lookin to every video you produce.

    You need a Skil SPT78MMC with the Cermet blade.
    It would make that cut from the top down in less than a minute. You would find it immensely handy for other things around the shop as well.

      Come to think of it, I would probably just hold the wheel vertically with a strap at 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock and cut across the top with the saw flat. There seems to be almost no spring open so pretty safe.

    The only carbide tipped blade that works is the Diabolo and they are best used in a cut off ( chop saw } saw!!!!! Keep up the great work and keep your sences of humor!!!
