Apparently it is possible to get it to space without using slew mode. If you read the description for the Pelican in the menu it says that it's in a training mode but there's a code you can enter to enable the full engine power. What that code is, I'm not sure. 343? 117? Something else?

I was depressed most of the day today, as well as low mood/low motivation, but hearing that Halo music in the cockpit make me smile.
You need to go altitude hold at 30000 (autopilot, not modes) then go forwards to Mach 1. Then you can go up
yeah I did the same thing but I just started using to auto pilot. it's hard to hold it straight at that speed with a Xbox controller. aka I play on Xbox series s. been thinking about buying a stick and peddles from thrust master. but for some reason the only time I play Microsoft flight simulator is when none of my friends are online. I play out of boredom but they keep adding cool features like with the top gun dlc I've been a huge fan of the dark star.
I feel like flight simulator is slowly heading to space since the top gun maverick , and now this dlc and possibly the space shuttle
Msfs2020 are in partnership with aviation and space museum so anything is possible like the space shuttle.

Or even the SR-71 for a legacy classic since they’re adding some of the legends in coming DLC

Somehow that makes me extremely happy. It was always a dream to be able to fly a Pelican in HALO.
Unfortunately, you could never do it officially.

These different gameplays of Microsoft Flight Simulator is great 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The Halo Pelican is looking nice!!!!!! And when the Halo theme song came on it gave me goosebumps.
Man I hope flight sim continue to do more awesome collabs like Halo and Top Gun! There's so many other awesome fictional aircraft they could implement in into the game!!
When helicopters arrive, I'm really hoping for Airwolf.
I completely agree it would be nice if they focused on the movie iron eagle with Doug Masterson and chappie St clar or another great movie flight of the intruder
Just a quick FYI, the Pelican does in fact have a Mach meter, however unlike the Darkstars the Pelican's is digital. On the normal flight display in front of you (showing your pitch ladder, altitude and airspeed) Look under the airspeed box on the left, you'll see the letter M with a number next to it, this is your Mach number. Below that is GS, that's your ground speed, TAS is your true airspeed, i.e. airspeed corrected for altitude (yes yes I know there's more complex explanations, but I'm not getting into it unless someone asks) and then G, which is the current G load.
Ok you seem to know a lot so I ask you. HOW DID HE STAND UP AND WALK TO THE BACK WAS IT WITCHCRAFT?!
@@Alex.greengrass No no, no witchcraft, it's in the game, you can move the camera position in the internal view, or he could've been using the drone camera, but I suspect it's the former techneique he's using. I forget how you do it now, but they're are keybinds.

I hope to see something like this in the future. It just looks practical and I will believe that until I die! Would be really awesome to see something like a Pelican in real life.
I agree 100%. Something about its design just feels so right. No different than the way I view a V22 Osprey, just much better thruster tech. With the right engines and the right power source it seems very practical.
It's nice knowing people think the Pelican looks realistic, it's been my fav sci-fi vehicle for 20 years now. One day we'll be making them in real life to kick some alien ass.

I’ve been wondering how to get it to space. Only was able to hit 56k ft. Also the liveries for this thing are awesome!
If you read the actual description of the pelican, it states that this model has throttling and altitude limitation features typical of civilian and military training craft. And it must be disabled remotely, meaning there is no way to disable it yourself.

This has replaced the JMB VL3 as my favorite way to explore a new scenery area, with its combined ability to cover ground fast but also hover like a drone as slow as I want and land wherever I want. And even in drone mode it can still go faster than a lot of cars can. Also if you look under the center display in the cockpit, you will see autopilot buttons, including both VS and FLC which would have come in very handy for your altitude test instead of having to constantly adjust the trim like you did.

Factually going off your statement being in space at 275,000 feet - you still well short of the recognised edge of Space starting at 330,000 feet past the Karman Line. Your Pelican is still very much in the Turbopause atmosphere.

Does that camera view come with the plane, or is that within the game? It isn't a drone camera because you would of fell through the plane if it was.
