Pierron's run will go down in DH history. Full send, fast, flawless, straight vibes. Love the good sportsmanship of MTB. When someone wins like that. Dosen't matter what nation they hail from. Everyone gets stoked. Well done France!

Especially the fact it was in front of a home crowd, on bastille day. I'm not French but I can imagine how incredible that must have felt.

Anthony Pierron's run was the single best thing I have ever watched related to DH. Completely courageous but with so much talent and perfectly executed. I think I will watch this before every ride I go on..
There is NOONE as fast as Amaury right now. Absolutely un-fricken-believable! Mind numbing how he even holds on! Loris and loic are super fast, but amaury is just on another level. WELL deserved win, and I hope to see more for the defending champ!
Should've included the junior women's champ Vali Holl's run too since she was 1.2sec faster than Tracey Hannah's run

One of the best runs ever Pierron was faultless!
It was a wild fast run. check out the Cathro interview where he says it was sketchy with both feet off the pedals at one moment.

I was there at the bottom when that happened, what you don't see, is after the video ends, thousands of people were storming into almost mosh pitting Pierron in the middle, so many people with chainless chainsaws, and trumpets as well!!! absolutely insane vibes at the mountain that day, and the franchise were hyped about the french heroes on the podium as well

I feel like I'm being stupid here, but for anyone else that watched the live event, did you notice how on some runs it cut from around 3:38 as they go over the rise, straight into the woods and on other runs they have the extra in-between section? You can see it in this video the difference in the two runs. Again sorry if I'm missing something obvious
The riders start one minute before the arrival of the previous one so there is a delay in the broadcast

jarriano yeah I was super surprised at how big a Margin there was. I feel like mountain biking is more of a sport that requires skill than strength, not to say it doesn’t require strength, but I feel skill is much more of a factor. I figured that the men would be faster, but not by that much

The men’s win was 30 seconds faster than the women’s… 30 bloody seconds… that is madness!!! At my best (20 years ago) I would still have been a full 60 seconds slower than Hanna’s time. Most likely more… super impressive riding skill.

Vali' Höll is easily the heir apparent to Rachel Atherton. I love Tracey Hannah, but if the top 3 riders weren't injured, she'd still be finishing in 3rd or beyond. By Vali' Höll racing in the Juniors beating the Elites by 1.2 seconds, she totally delegitimized the current field of Elite women riders.

the fastest man beat the fastest woman by a full THIRTY SECONDS.
There is a much broader pool of men (vs women) who enjoy throwing themselves down the side of a big hill. Something like 100x more competition.

She got injured riding that trail, so what makes you think she would have been faster on it?
She it the best and the figures say that if she didn’t get hurt she would have done really well
@@willbennett7107 But she crashed. Many others didn't. We are talking about DH MTB, where crashing is a downside and a factor of poor performance and / or preparation. Rachel Atherton didn't win because she messed it up in practice. Tracy Hannah didn't.
Yes and she is human we make mistakes she didn’t crash actually she landed badly on the bottom drop and she is the best look how many World Cup wins she has
