In this video, I’m going to explain step-by-step how I would learn day trading if I had to or could start over again in 2023.
Whether you’re a complete day trading beginner starting from scratch or simply interested in day trading, this is how you can start and get set up, and we’re going to try to do it all in 30 days! By the end of this video, you’ll have a direction of what to do with your day trading journey, and, hopefully, turn this into a full-time career.
Here’s a breakdown of your next 30 days:
    Day 1-7
    - Step 1: Keep your day job
    - Step 2: Learn for free
    - Step 3: Paper trading & opening a broker account:
    Day 8-14
    - Step 4: Learning technical analysis
Day 14-21: Rinse and Repeat steps 1-4
    Day 21-30:
    - Step 5: Calculate your own risk management profile.
Guys, I’ll be honest, it takes way more than 30 days to master anything, and becoming a new trader can be tough, so I hope this information and learning structure will help your trading tremendously.

Having a financial advisor is the best approach to navigate the market currently, especially for near-retirees. I've been in touch with a mentor for a year because I lack the in-depth knowledge and mental resilience to handle recurring market conditions. I've gained over $320k in profits so far, indicating that there is deeper insight into the market that average individuals lack but financial advisors possess.

Learning trading is like peeling a 1 million layers onion... (unless Shay shows you how!) One thing I wish I knew when I started, is that it's important to scale the charts in a way that make sense. What I mean by that, is that if you zoom too much, you see big moves, but in reality, it's just cents 😅😅😅... With tradingview, I display the price by 10 or 20$, and (right click) "lock the bar ratio" and "scale price chart only", so that the scale remains the same, which I understand.

Agreed. If ones stop is too close, many stop losses would trigger causing death by a thousand cuts. Entries are very important. Volatility and daily price movement ranges of a stock, etc., would determine how far away the sell-stop should be (potential profit targets should already be known before entry). Ones account balance, entry, and sell-stop level would determine the number of shares or contracts one should buy or sell to open

Haven't watched the video yet but got "attracted" by the tilte of "becoming a day trader in 30 days. Realistically, average time spent for a full-time day trader is like the first year technical skills, second year technical skills combine with risk management, the third year is trading mindset that fits your trading style. If everything goes well, you are earning some money consistently in your fourth year. So 30 days to become a day trader (and a confident one) is quite title-attractive

Question this part confuses me if you have a 5k$ account and you are risking 100$ are you only buying 100$ worth of stock or using the entire 5k$ then once you make or lose 100$-/ 200$ on the upside 2:1 you exit out the position with your entire 5k?

    • @troyh2706
      @troyh2706 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Risking $100 means the difference between your entry point and your stop loss vs the number of shares you buy/sell. For example, if you want to trade stock $ABC long; your thesis tells you a good entry point is $4.00, and your stop loss is $3.75. That risk is $.25/share. To risk $100 means you would be buying 400 shares; ($1600 worth of stock). But, you would want at least a PT of $4.50/share (preferably $4.75/share), in order to have a decent R:R ratio. Hope this helps.
