- Brisabne is heading to its third preliminary final in four years after downing Port Adelaide 19.9 (123) to 11.9 (75) in a clinical performance at the Gabba.
While the Lions will have a week off, the Power will be busy preparing to host a rampant Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval in the hope of keeping their 2023 campaign alive.

Joe Daninher 5 goals, Jaspa Fletcher (played 12 games, first finals) 3 goals, Cam Rayner 3... That forward line was poppin!! Spectacular goals too 🔥🔥🔥🔥 One of the greatest things about Brisbane this year is how evenly spread they are. Whole team performance. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Lions just out played port for most of the game so they really do deserve that prelim
As someone from Wales (Swansea) I really enjoy watching rugby but watching AFL I personally find it quite a confusing game to fully understand what’s going on but I still enjoy watching it plus the fans and players just give off an electric air you can not get hyped while watching. Especially the comments I’ve read on here it is nice seeing fans being supportive of other teams. Just reminds me of watching Wales live and sitting next to the enemy teams fans and just having a laugh no anger or hostility just genuine enjoyment of the game.
Lions are that good we should be winning a minimum of 2 flags in the next 5 years!

In Brisbane yesterday while wearing my Melbourne Storm jumper after being beaten the night before by the Brisbane Broncos 24 nil I asked politely a family wearing Port Adelaide jumpers how they would go. The nasty father said with contempt A lot better than the Melbourne Storm went . Well in the words of Port Adelaide only premiership coach Mark Williams, YOU WERE WRONG. So suck on those eggs mate.

One of the most disappointing games of the finals round. I dont know if it was a finals experience issue for Port, they had 12 players playing their first final game compared to Brisbane only having 1. Port were horrible on every area except for their backline surprisingly, the mids weren't running hard enough and winning ball, their forwards were squandering big chances that they desperately needed but their back line surprising held up against what is one of the most dangerous forward lines, holding Cameron to only 2 goals which came late in the 4th is very impressive. Full credit to Brisbane for the great win and the great crowd involvement, I hope they don't get stage fright again if they were to play at the MCG.
They will play Collingwood if they beat the giants.

Alright Brisbane, this is you’re chance. should of got it done in 2020, but now it’s time. Absolutely primed to win it all. One team stands in your way really. Big joe can be a fool on the field at times with his silly decisions and poor execution from time to time, but he looks like he’s more hungry and focused then I’ve seen him in maybe his whole career. Good luck to all Brisbane supporters!

@@lozpower1790 Being favourites doesn’t equate to success especially in the finals. Port are a mentally weak team. If you beat them on the inside they capitulate as they do not possess any strong defensive players. After their qualifying final performance they couldn’t possibly be favourites. Pathetic performance.
@@lozpower1790 Beating GWS has little value especially when Port get obliterated the following week. Port have proven on several occasions that they don’t possess the mental fortitude to compete against the best. I would also argue their position on the ladder doesn’t represent the current standings. Why does it matter if they beat GWS? Will the season be perceived as a resounding success if they make a prelim for the fourth time in 9 years? I would view anything less than a premiership as a abject failure. Port’s mantra is, we exist to win premierships and yet they cannot even make a grand final.
I think they will win next week, so they can earn a good spanking from Collingwood the week after.

Tonight’s performance indicates personnel is clearly an issue. They also lack mental toughness; their mental fragility is telling. It is also apparent the shocking preliminary final of 2021 has effectively cursed Port. Port won’t win ultimate glory until they have strong-bodied overhead marking defenders. A forward player that doesn’t choke repeatedly directly in front of goal and probably another strong bodied midfielder that can stick tackles. Far too many deficiencies in their line up to be anymore than a team that is merely making up the numbers. Too many injury prone players and out of form players making up the list with little to no depth in the SANFL.
