How to catch Bait with a minnow trap! Cheap and easy method- Mud-Minnows & Killies in 20 min!

In this video we will show you how we catch minnows. Gudgeon's, Chubs, Mud Minnows or Killies. You can get a trap at any bait and tackle shop in the VA beach area. Look up the rules and regulations before you use the trap in fresh or saltwater.
My brother and I have been catching bait like this for over 10 years now. I have tried a lot of baits, but the cat food paste works the best. The chunky kind will work I just believe that when they get into the trap, they can push their nose into the panty hose and get a taste of the bait, since it is a paste. I tear the label off and dispose of it properly and put the entire can inside. Make sure that you push it all the way to the bottom of the panty hose then tie a knot about 4 inches above the can. I put the trap almost all of the way together then let the knot hang outside the trap so they can hang in the middle of the trap. Without the can and/or panty hose the bait will dissolve/ breakdown and drift outside the trap. They no longer have any reason to go inside the trap. Once you throw the trap if it doesn't land with the open ends facing into the current pull on it until it spins. The current will funnel the baitfish into the trap. I hope this tactic works for you as well as it has for me over the years.

Didn't even know they had Foothills in South Carolina. I used to live in Horry county. Thank you sir. Her dad said she called a fish little trout or something. Great video! I also saw on another video that the minnows prefer the silver trap over the black one? I think that they even did a comparison and they did catch more in the silver/ galvanized one.
