You are not your past traumas. You get to choose what you identify with. Liberate yourselves and let go besties.

Thankyou, I needed to hear this. My old friends can't digest or understand that I've levelled up and I'm not longer a fool who makes sacrifices to entertain them.
They keep bringing up who I was to try to shame me and get me to revert back to that era, but no. I'm levelled up and I will continue to do so.

this will forever remind me about the guy who people got mad about after he posted a video feeding black birds and everyone was discussing whether those were crows or ravens. in the end he came to the conclusion: You can´t make everyone equally HAPPY, but you can make everyone equally UNHAPPY. so he started to call them chicken.

I'm working so hard on this! My purpose is to be totally unbothered by no one and anything, focus only on me and my goals and stop giving my energy and time to people and things that are useless and to cap it all trying to affect me on a negative way. It's too hard tho! But practice makes a master, so I'll keep pursuing my unbothered self till I get there. Thank you bestiee! :*

We women have to realize action speaks louder than words. Let people say we belong in kitchen, we are useless, we are this and that etc. Just make sure your actions align with what you want and keep moving forward. Conserve this energy for actions and actions only. We used to be brainwashed programmed and living in Disney work, imagining things thay should happen. Now its our time to be in reality and change our reality not imagining what should happen or why its is not happening. Accepting what is in front of us and moving forward with that.

Omg Elle, yesterday I was quite angry cause my workplace was male dominated and a lot of what they say annoy me (I’m an intern and I’m finishing soon) so they triggered me and I wanted to start explaining how things are quite unfair for me as a girlie but then I left it and accepted the place as it was. I told myself don’t get mad, get paid and 2 hours later I received my money hahah.

Be careful with "transcending" your thoughts. Do not supress or push *ALL* your feelings away, or else your problem will get worse to get your attention. When you push away your pain, you're pushing away your process, or key to your transformation! Your worst pain is your greatest teacher & power!!
Edit: many of u may not understand what i mean. Basically, if ur supressing a cycle of emotions ur continuously dealing with, not just typical temporary anger/frustration/sadness etc, chances are you're supressing your true feelings about a bigger issue youre supposed to learn from. When you repress your true feelings about a deeper rooted issue, youre not only running away from processing your pain but not allowing yourself to grow from your issues. You will probably remain stuck in these insufferable cycles that are truly meant to give you some sort of self transformation or change, because you dont have awareness over them or process them. Maybe you can "control" your feelings when they arise, but constantly "controlling" them without making an impactful change to the actual root issue wont truly solve the problem youre constantly facing. You know that feeling when you finally "get over" one situation, but then another one happens thats very similar to it? Yup.
Emotions aren't your enemy, they can contain key information to deeper rooted problems, cycles, traumas, etc. If this is you, be sure to allow yourself to feel your feelings out in a safe secure space- preferablly a professional or an emotionally safe person- so you can process, grow from, & release them. Healing is a messy but beautiful journey that's 100% worth it. Love yall stay coolin & God bless

    1:34 omg yes!!!
"But one should never underestimate people's desire to be angry, they are angry at the world, so they keep looking for confirmation online and in real life as to why they should keep being angry"
this explains a lot of so many people's behaviour nowadays.

  • @LammyHowl
    @LammyHowl ปีที่แล้ว +35

It's true; people hang onto anger because it makes them feel like they have a sense of control when their lives seem to be spiraling out of control. The awful irony is that they are at the mercy of the anger and are very easy to manipulate. What helped me move past mine was this truth: life is not going how I expected, and I will be okay. Wishing everyone healing, wisdom, peace, and joy ✌🏻

I needed this video! I was verbally bullied in highschool. Which bring back past bullying trauma from elementary. I feel unworthy of everything from gifts to even friendship. Ugh, it’s hard for me to chanell out love since I use to care too much for those bully. It went bad, to the point where eating regularly feels heavy to me. It could be overwhelming most time, I break down crying alone a lot. I am still fighting to not feel this till today… I want to live my life in freedom without, I want to be considered and loved like what others have.

God I love you, so smart! When I left my job in April (I’ve worked there for 5 years and that was not easy decision), I completely changed my lifestyle, now I study what i love, read clever books, take walks, just loving life. Before this happened i couldn’t imagine that you can live without suffering, but apparently it’s a choice. And being away from that society for sometime opened my eyes! I didn’t even realise how much trash I had in my brain and it use to leave no space for thoughts at all. So, Yeah, for your own well being you neeeeeed to cut off all the unnecessary stuff in your life, to at least start knowing and feeling yourself! I wish everyone could learn that at school.

I'm so glad someone is finally talking about this (at least from what I have seen).
Words can be very triggering for those that don't understand nuance, or have been conditioned to react to certain words so much that there's no room for contextual understanding.
In the words of Eckhart Tolle "don't focus on the words, they are merely signposts. Once you taste honey, you no longer need the word 'honey' to know it's meaning". Same words like "high value" or "gold digger" can hold completely different energies to what we are used to, and those that understand your message, will understand that the intention behind those words is to uplift, not cause pain. Unfortunately, we need words to communicate an idea.
Language is dualistic so of course it is an imperfect way to communicate!
More people need to wake up to this so they no longer squabble over words. What's important is the message!! Not the words used!! Otherwise we'll never stop fighting.
I usually never leave messages but Elle you are doing important work so I have to!! This is something I've been struggling with for a long time - people are literally LOOKING for things to get mad about, instead of taking a moment to try to understand another person's point of view.
    Anyway go you 🩷

I am so glad that my husband is happy and willing to provide for us because it’s a huge amount of work. And because of all the political stuff you talk about, being a stay at home mom and having a providor man, has put me in a space where I end up feeling a lot of guilt for not having to work out of the house and your support group is helping me feel less alone. Thank you!

Keep being brutally honest!!! You're serving us what we need to hear. Our closest best friends can't even offer this kind of honesty, and if you do.. then you're being rude or labelled as a bitch in the friend group. Women need to practice open honesty,... it's honestly why I like having male friends since quite a few of them, tell it for face value, and I value their perspective whether it's aligned with mine OR NOT. Listening and learning opposing ideals is how we learn, grow and shape our own mindset for the better.

I shouted out to the universe and the spoiled girlies answered. Thanks, Elle. I love these comments, too. ❤ I got out of a bad toxic abusive relationship at the end of Nov last year. I've been nonstop triggered by my parents recently, and I know it's related, but the amount of frustration I feel toward myself for reacting without thought... it's been a rough month, and it's all self-induced. Sometimes it feels like my past trauma is all I see and all I think about (thanks, weekly DBT 🙄), and it's not *natural* for me to just ignore it and focus on being present. Maybe it's not supposed to be easy! It's being worked on, and I love seeing things like this because I'm on that track right now.

Personally, I resonate so strongly with like 80% of what u say! The method, the mindset, the observations I find super insightful. Where I go in a different direction is when it comes to the ultimate goal. Again personally, my objective isn’t to “get the bag” or play in this “game of power” (was it this video or another where she used that term?), but still! i appreciate the content and respect we all have different aims in life. ❤

An example is one video where you talked about living your dream life and to view it from the moint of Maslow hierarchicy of needs...I think that one actually blew my mind, I had never thought to use this concept to look at my life.
Anyways, I guess I dhould really work harder on not spending so much energy being triggered by other people's opinions of me and what I do and just be laser focused on the things that are actually relevant and important to me...

huh this is fascinating, what the thought experiment of genuinely considering myself spoiled brings up is a strong feeling of guilt and that really is one of my biggest holdback distractions in my day-to-day, same with the pick-me label! i see it in shorts and pause with an immediate impulse to hear whatever it is out in fear it might apply to me, while consciously knowing i disagree with the construct. wild to reframe my seeking out of guilt as a desire.

Even when I am not engaged with them and have no control over the reality of others outside of my own, I just hate seeing behaviors that hurt others, particularly in those vulnerable or naive to the actions of those who are consciously or unconsciously aware of how they are exploiting or contributing to the problem in a given scenario.
And many adult behaviors are counterproductive -whether its from a man or woman.
I'm still struggling with focusing on growing to be a better version of myself - regardless of how others may view me in various stages of my own life transitions - and understanding that I am not perfect either. I am highly critical of myself as I am of others 😭 but this conversation was really heart-warming and I truly needed this because I am becoming more and more angry as it relates to men and family. I desire a family, but a past failed relationship has caused me to lose hope in the future of a successful relationship. And the things I see in the internet about how men think about situations are reinforcing my negative perceptions of men/males because I'm terrified that I may be used/manipulated by any prospective partner. I feel like my ex used me as a stepping stone, rather than desiring me to be a permanent part of my life through commitment and marriage. He was my first partner and we met in our second year of college. I just don't want to repeat another heartbreak, and I certain don't want an unstable situation (such as bad marriage or co-parenting) if children are going to be involved.

Thank you so much for this. ❤I am easily triggered by certain topics (and of negative energy carried by people around me), it always ends up affecting me - and I soooo want to move beyond that. I was wondering if you could do a video with more tips on how to not care so much (about the things that really are distractions)? A lot of people always give tips such as "oh just forget about it", and I think it would be so cool to hear more actual practical tips that truly do work.
I have watched several of your videos, and I love your content. Thank you for this podcast.
