Great concept! You bet I'll join in. I have the first print of AA, but the 2nd edition turned out real well. I got some in mind already that I could shed some light on. Ouba is great! I've always mentioned the early Can resemblance too. There were a plethora of teen garage cover releases like The Invaders. Grandma's Rockers from Iowa come to mind as one of my favorites.
Yes was hoping so. There is tons of that 66 / 67 garage in there and some truly worthy ones with slack, inept playing that give it that endearing quality. Don't think I've ever heard Grandma's Rockers. Rare one!
Great idea. So much crazy stuff in there. I love that Ouba record... found my copy on GEMM back in the day, which was pretty surprising. Massiera was living in Canada around that time, so I always wondered about a connection, but have yet to find one. It seems like the cover was a ringwear magnet, too!
Right, definite ringwear issues. The copy my buddy upgraded from had some as well. GEMM! I remember that site for sure. Used to find things on there every now and then. Musicstack too!
An invaluable reference book and a great idea for a thread! It's sure to throw up a bunch of records most of us have never encountered. I just posted my first and definitely not my last contribution to the thread: It's All Meat's LP from 1970. ☮️
Very cool, thanks for joining in. Added you to the playlist and will check the vid out today. Good record. I still have the reissue but that's a tough Canadian Columbia to source.
Hey man. I'm definitely going to watch every video in the series, since I've never made a video. I would love to get my hands on that book. I'm going to try to score one. Great idea for future videos. Peace
Love this. Got the book about five years ago for the first time. I have very few of the really obscure records included, but there might be one I’d want to feature, like the Blue Note series from a few years ago. Looking forward to to more of these 🌸✌🏻
Was reading it again last night to check on a title and ended up getting lost in some other records I didn't know. Always something to be found in there
Dom, great idea. I only have a digital copy of the book (2nd Ed.), but love reading through it. Just like the book I have digital copies of some of the listed albums, but I will check to see if I actually have any of these LPs. Don't know Ouba. Thanks, Chris
I bet you do, there's actually records in there I am usually surprised to see and it goes into some territories that aren't necessarily typical psychedelia.
Magnetic idea 💡 I’m surprised no one has done one yet. Psychederek is the only I’ve ever heard of referencing the book when showing records. Hope all is well. Got a few I hope to share… God bless
Ya I was surprised as many people were stoked on it. Felt like perhaps its been talked up plenty. But its an easy way to make quick videos and some fertile ground with all kinds of interesting music to highlight.
Though the majority of the stuff in the book is outside my musical interests it's a great guide i have read both volumes enough to have them memorized regardless 😂. And i do have some stuff in the book that maybe no one else has at least two i am pretty sure..i might give it a go we will see..but a great idea for a series...much love chris
Looking forward to seeing an entry (or a few perhaps) from you. Carl Erdmann is one I know is in there, a big love of mine as recommended by you a while ago now.
That's a great idea, I don't have that book but I've got one by Vernon Joynson called "Fuzz Acid and Flowers: A Comprehensive Guide to American Garage Psychedelic and Hippie Rock (1964-1975)", it doesn't have Ouba though.
This sounds like an interesting idea. I find that I'm not so big on the contests but this gives us a bit more freedom. Let me think about what to feature. Hmmmmmmm.....Btw, I wasn't familiar with the book so I'll need to correct that error.
The book is fascinating Shawn and a trove of lost records you've never seen, nor may ever see. Always incredible the amount and breadth of records being created in that golden era. Used to be much more affordable to do so, clearly, with some of the weird shit that got released. But no contests here...I am kind of allergic to those I think.
I have been super busy so I’m diving into this now. Thanks for the shout out. I know exactly what to shoot first. 🍄🍄
Shrooms! A hint? But glad you can join the party! Much needed!

I love OUBA, this used to be a staple on my Friday night live shows, I'm sure my listeners were tired of me playing it, but I just love it.
Hey Randy. Yeah pretty great one. Kinda of dumb and loveable at the same time.
This will be a great thread!!
Great idea, I did a video last week and will do another soon, thanks
ah, let me check that out missed it.
You’re beginning to have as many series as Rev. 😎
@therevrockinrollin
Can I get to a bakers dozen? Yes! Though for real, 1 or 2 will age out
Hey man. I'm definitely going to watch every video in the series, since I've never made a video. I would love to get my hands on that book. I'm going to try to score one. Great idea for future videos. Peace
Indeed it is in print at a variety of locations, including the dreaded Amazon.

Nice, look forward to that Mazzy. This series could do for many years easily.
Tapestry of Delights and Fuzz Acid & Flowers, are great reference books by Vernon Joynson, TOP is English Psych and FAF is American Psych 🎉
Definitely. I'll certainly buy those at some point.
I actually have that book packed up back in MI. Sounds like a fun series. I have one of those books on Garage Rock that I really love
If you need me to look a title for you to feature, you let me know lol
Excellent idea Dom (from a humble viewer's perspective) that had me reaching for the CD comp, 'The Ultimate Acid Dreams Collection'.
Great one, lot of good tracks on that one.
Man I need this book!!!
It is out there and in print
I just joined in.
Saw it in my feed, looking forward to watching. Will add that thang to list
They have copies of the book on Amazon. That is where I got mine a few years ago. It is just fun to read also.
Was reading it again last night to check on a title and ended up getting lost in some other records I didn't know. Always something to be found in there
Dig the jams on the Ouba.

I’ve shown the Acid Archives. When Deadwax66 was making videos he showed the Acid Archives. He gave away a copy.

OUBA OUBA OUBA!

That's a good book for sure as well. Don't have it but a fun reference guide for sure.
I love Peter’s the unicorn
Same here. obviously there's something about it that makes it so interesting. Which is usually the case with the titles in the book.
I have been looking for an original of it for many years! Anyway, I plan on adding a few OGs from the acid archives to help get the ball rolling
This sounds like an interesting idea. I find that I'm not so big on the contests but this gives us a bit more freedom. Let me think about what to feature. Hmmmmmmm.....Btw, I wasn't familiar with the book so I'll need to correct that error.

i'm only doing it if there's a prize
Cool video.. I have a few records that I can share. I will try to get the courage to do a video. Take care
Would be cool to see, we'll need the entirety of the vc and anyone who watches to complete the book
quite a snooty prologue there in the guide, but i like it
Lol. Just terrible.
This is serious business!
th-cam.com/video/dF5zSjR3KaQ/w-d-xo.html another Acid Archive video for your playlist.
thanks for letting me know, didn't see this. nice!
Always great to get a new thread on a Saturday! This is a cool idea! Is there a band in the book called Electric Toilet?
Indeed, they did make it. Rare one too
@@seekingathread My buddy Johnny Wigginton played lead guitar on that record, Ill have to let him know!
