"Luke Smith, in female form" - I think this is becoming a meme, but honestly, it's a high compliment :^) Thank you so much for the shoutout, DT! I've watched your content for years, so it's incredible to see my channel featured in one of your vids. Just learned about some other awesome channels from this vid, as well. Thanks again!
You've got good videos! I liked Luke Smith's Linux content but I felt he got a bit off the rails with some of his other content before he completely disappeared. Just my opinion though. Anyway, keep up the great Linux content.
@@donaldwilliams6821 I get it. I don't find DistroTube as off the rails as Luke Smith became, IMO. But yeah, I get it. Yet it's his right to post non-Linux stuff if he wants to. And you can choose to unsubscribed. I've done that to some TH-camrs I used to like.
@@ThePressurizer I'm gonna meet you outside just to say Debian for the most part, but I switched to Arch a couple of months ago and I am pretty happy with it so far.
Alright, I'm gonna be that guy and point out that what you guys are referring to as "Linux," is in fact, PC/Linux, or as I have recently recently taken to calling it, PC plus Linux (but not really), by which I mean any of the minority market of consumer computing devices that are not aleady dominated by operating systems built upon the Linux kernel. What I'm getting at is that, technically-speaking, almost all electronic device users run a modified version of the #1 OS "Linux" kernel every day, without realizing it. Not that you asked. BTW, I use Arch + xanmod
@@googIesux Thanks man! : D - yes, Linux has grown and I am preparing a video where I will show in fact how 2 billion people are actually using Linux in fact.
@@DistroTube Hey, I apologize for asking, but I noticed something because I am new to TH-cam content making. I had close to 1100 users after you made a shout out. Today I have only half of the subs, basically lost half in just one day. Is this normal? Thank you.
Thank you for the shout out. Really appreciate it. Your channel is one of the original linux channels i subbed to a few years ago. A nice way to pay it forward. Time to sub the rest.
Looks dope, I checked it out. I don't understand Chinese, but had some experience of studying the script, always satisfying to guess some random characters. Hopin that Chinese viewers are into Linux too
I typically watch that Nick fellow from France, the Aussie guy, the big dude Matt, Chris Titus and some guy named DT : ) Always looking for good new content, though! TY!
OLD TECH BLOKE -- I discovered him through one of DT's past videos. Sadly he past away a couple of years after his channel started growing. I joined when he had less than 100 subs, and watched him break 1K within a couple months, large thanks to a mention by DT on one of these lists. Thanks DT for giving small channels some attention, and again my condolences to Old Tech Bloke's family when he past a couple years ago.
Hey DT, thank you for all you have taught me about Linux. I went to each of those channels and have subscribed to them as I trust your content so if you say they are good, then I am definitely interested in checking them out.
The problem I have, is that I subscribe to so many channels I could never consume all the content that comes on my feed everyday. About once or twice a year I go through and wean out the subscriptions that I don't watch and then I ended up cluttering the list back up with new subscriptions...lol. I already have so many Linux content creators in my subscription list I don't have room for more.
A1rM4x is another channel that covers mostly gaming on Linux. Might take some time to adjust to the thick French accent, but is often entertaining and frequently informative, if gaming as at all an interest.
Thanks for bringing attention to other creators in the space - Looks like I am subscribed to everyone except Linux Renaissance and Linux Creative Project
I used to try to watch her videos occasionally but she gave me the impression it was more about her looking pretty in front of the camera than the actual quality of the content. And that's not just because she's female either, I find Chris Titus' stuff equally unwatchable for similar reasons, especially when he changes his opinion on Windows and Linux "at a whim" and to just shill for views.
Its interesting how 7 years is old for Linux on TH-cam, which is true! But considering I hear Linux users say they started Linux decades ago all the time, you'd think there would be some from like 2006 still knocking about but no. I think content creation for Linux is quite new.
Maybe not small, but i love Gotbletu, he has been around for ever is majority command line and minimal desktop, but he has some awesome videos :). He reviews apps and has a huge lost of custom aliases commands and configs. He doesn't have Linux in his name, but everything he does is Linux. He has what feels like hundreds of videos. It's mostly screenrecordings and walkthroughs. Not much about distros or hardware, he is great for scoping out new apps or discovering old ones, and how to streamline yourworkflow with in them.
NixiePixel was one of the first Linux channels I watched. I suspect she may have been the first female Linux TH-camr. She stopped being a regular after her health problems started.
