P1-2 writer left the company, therefore they don't touch those games excluding little things like promos for series anniversaries. That's a pretty decent reason imo. Ports, not remakes, don't sound bad though since they don't require narrative adjustments

I just found about Persona some years ago, but that title screen theme brought me memories of when I was like 4 or 5 years old and i played games with my dad on his PlayStation 1 (he mainly played horror games on those times, maybe that's why the type of music sounds soo familiar).

Sadly Atlus has their hands full for the next couple years, they're working on PQ 2, the Catherine remake, just released the dancing games and have to keep supporting them, are working alongside arc sys for P5 Arena, and developing P6, wich by their track record, probably will come out in the next gen at the earliest. But it is in fact more likely that we will receive the remakes a couple years from now, when the hype goes down a little and they finally decide to stop milking P3/4.

You should. The gameplay isn’t amazing but it’s fun enough, and the story and characters (especially in Innocent Sin) are hands down the best in the series
P3-P5 is just a power fantasy P2 Duology is a masterpiece that is anti-empowerment because of the well executed conflict involved. The teenagers didn't feel like they got JoJo stands and actually participated in the conflict either as a reactant or the producer itself and the second part involved them as adults because in the first part they were too immature to solve the conflict, this is the plot without going into too much details. And Persona 2 Duology as a whole is the best RPG of all time in terms of writing.

Quite good is an understatement The conflict was interesting and was not otaku pandering bullshit like the other Cucksona games It is easily the most well written game in all of Fiction alongside God Of War series
So I just finished Persona 4, thus im only missing the first Persona in the mainline of the series. Though 3 and 4 were pretty damn good, especially mechanics wise, Persona 2 is still my favorite of the series. A shame, that 3 and 4 kinda favored the whole social link thing over the darker tone of its predecessor. Still one of the most quality jrpg series i have played yet. Pumped for P5 :D

Yeah, the whole social link thing was a really good idea, well executed even. I have the feeling P5 will have a darker note though, which will most likely up the experience for me. Its just, that I like dark plot elements and especially P4 had few of those.

I really like this intro. It's so densely-packed with meaning and even fits the tone of the game better than the original, in my opinion. All the tiny and subtle visual details that go by in a flash simultaneously communicate a ton with their abstract symbolism, as well as demonstrate how crazy and chaotic the plot gets. The ending then tops it off perfectly by adding just the right amount of melancholy, making strategic use of the few simple, yet straightforwardly meaningful shots. (This also serves as a great contrast to the abstraction and energy in the beginning.) The one thing I don't like about this intro is how it wastes time showing off the party's personas. It's not engaging or thrilling to look at like a proper action scene, and it doesn't really communicate anything other than "Look at these awesome designs! LOOK AT THEM!" But yeah. Overall, really well-composed intro. I'd love watching this at the beginning of every episode if it were an anime.

So long as there's no social links, wild cards, the enemies are demons not shadows, and the more serious tones. The first three Persona games are more SMT than modern Persona. And they should remain as more SMT.

I was more making a comment on how not properly preserving games means when store fronts die, like the PSP's online store, and recently with the 3DS store and all the SMT games that are now lost to time because of it, you either have to get your hands on roms (and that's a shit chute in its own right), or you're at the mercy of obscenely bullshit physical copy sellers. Atlus has a massive section of their library that's just about lost entirely. So, if the base is clearly hungry for it, and they're not bothering with Steam ports, why not remake 1 and 2? Out of all the Persona titles, I feel like 3 already has enough love and attention - 1 and 2 need it more, if nothing more than to preserve where the series started/reintroduce it to people who haven't played them.

I really want an anime with this exact, Kazuma Kaneko, art style. Not Eternal Punishment, but Innocent Sin opening style, with Porcelain Doll feel. Looks even more smexy than any JoJo style.
Indeed it is an amazing game (maybe even a masterpiece yeah). The only downside there its an high rate of random encounters as its an classic JRPG (The only thing that saves from it is Estoma skill.). Well it comes to preference still but i for sure like new Persona\SMT visible enemy's on overworld better since im not much of classic gamer.

This one is surprisingly high quality for a time when few in the West knew who Atlus was, and Persona wasn't really a big hit yet. It's even more odd when you consider that the OG P5's opening is actually one of the best in the series.

@@muhummadkhan5787 The bad animation is my main concern, but you're right in that the theming of P5R's opening isn't really all that appealing to me. The original had a more grungy aesthetic that better fit the game. At least you can say P4 and Golden's openings reflected the philosophical and slice of life sides of the game respectively, but I'm pretty sure Persona 5 isn't about swimming in diamonds. Also I don't remember anything about the FES opening at all which is a testament to how low of a bar it set lol. Honestly, the best "remake" opening for the series barring Persona 2 is probably P3P. The visuals stick to the signature P3 style but are a bit cleaner. Personally I like how "messy" P3's opening looked because I feel like it better represented the game's atmosphere, but at least it didn't completely eschew it for a generic anime style the way P5R did.
You know, i feel like this intro was made to fit along the modern persona games (3 onward), they even made new intros for P1 and P2EP psp ports because 1 and 2 duology have a dark tone instead of a slightly brighter one. Well, that's how I see it, and I really would love to see people give the same amount of attention to these Persona games.

P2 Duology is a masterpiece that is anti-empowerment because of the well executed conflict involved.
The teenagers didn't feel like they got JoJo stands and actually participated in the conflict either as a reactant or the producer itself and the second part involved them as adults because in the first part they were too immature to solve the conflict, this is the plot without going into too much details. And Persona 2 Duology as a whole is the best RPG of all time in terms of writing.
my favorite part about this opening is the fact they're drawn more like Kaneko's style

So I just finished Persona 4, thus im only missing the first Persona in the mainline of the series. Though 3 and 4 were pretty damn good, especially mechanics wise, Persona 2 is still my favorite of the series. A shame, that 3 and 4 kinda favored the whole social link thing over the darker tone of its predecessor. Still one of the most quality jrpg series i have played yet.

Yeah, the whole social link thing was a really good idea, well executed even. I have the feeling P5 will have a darker note though, which will most likely up the experience for me. Its just, that I like dark plot elements and especially P4 had few of those.

I really like this intro. It's so densely-packed with meaning and even fits the tone of the game better than the original, in my opinion.
All the tiny and subtle visual details that go by in a flash simultaneously communicate a ton with their abstract symbolism, as well as demonstrate how crazy and chaotic the plot gets. The ending then tops it off perfectly by adding just the right amount of melancholy, making strategic use of the few simple, yet straightforwardly meaningful shots. (This also serves as a great contrast to the abstraction and energy in the beginning.)
The one thing I don't like about this intro is how it wastes time showing off the party's personas. It's not engaging or thrilling to look at like a proper action scene, and it doesn't really communicate anything other than "Look at these awesome designs! LOOK AT THEM!"
But yeah. Overall, really well-composed intro. I'd love watching this at the beginning of every episode if it were an anime.

I was more making a comment on how not properly preserving games means when store fronts die, like the PSP's online store, and recently with the 3DS store and all the SMT games that are now lost to time because of it, you either have to get your hands on roms (and that's a shit chute in its own right), or you're at the mercy of obscenely bullshit physical copy sellers. Atlus has a massive section of their library that's just about lost entirely.
So, if the base is clearly hungry for it, and they're not bothering with Steam ports, why not remake 1 and 2? Out of all the Persona titles, I feel like 3 already has enough love and attention - 1 and 2 need it more, if nothing more than to preserve where the series started/reintroduce it to people who haven't played them.

The only downside there its an high rate of random encounters as its an classic JRPG (The only thing that saves from it is Estoma skill.). Well it comes to preference still but i for sure like new Persona\SMT visible enemy's on overworld better since im not much of classic gamer.

This one is surprisingly high quality for a time when few in the West knew who Atlus was, and Persona wasn't really a big hit yet. It's even more odd when you consider that the OG P5's opening is actually one of the best in the series.

@@muhummadkhan5787 The bad animation is my main concern, but you're right in that the theming of P5R's opening isn't really all that appealing to me. The original had a more grungy aesthetic that better fit the game. At least you can say P4 and Golden's openings reflected the philosophical and slice of life sides of the game respectively, but I'm pretty sure Persona 5 isn't about swimming in diamonds. Also I don't remember anything about the FES opening at all which is a testament to how low of a bar it set lol. Honestly, the best "remake" opening for the series barring Persona 2 is probably P3P. The visuals stick to the signature P3 style but are a bit cleaner. Personally I like how "messy" P3's opening looked because I feel like it better represented the game's atmosphere, but at least it didn't completely eschew it for a generic anime style the way P5R did.

You know, i feel like this intro was made to fit along the modern persona games (3 onward), they even made new intros for P1 and P2EP psp ports because 1 and 2 duology have a dark tone instead of a slightly brighter one.
