Great tutorial, after seeing this video a few weeks ago, I was on the fence on which effects unit to get, the EFX500 or spending and extra few hundred dollars and get the EFX1000. My EFX500 arrived today from Ebay.
thanks for the info, i just got my efx 500 today, i wanna know can i set the efx to work with ch 1 on my mixer with out hearing it on on ch 2? and vice versa. thank you

Yo quick question. I have turntables setup rca connected to my efx500, when I do effects on the left deck transitioning to the right the effect also hits the 2nd deck . That's weird unless that's how it works???
Yes if both are directly hooked up it will affect both. If you want it to affect chosen deck you have to set it up with your mixer as a send return effect and choose channel accordingly.
Congrats on your purchase! I'm afraid you can't do that. Unless you set it as a send effect on your mixer then you can just select your send on the channel you want to use it with at a time.
With this older effects unit how do you select the channel/deck which you want to apply the effects too? I use a pioneer controller (which the effects pads are mirrored both sides) and use effects whilst I’m mixing, whilst both tracks are playing so I wondered is there a button to choose your channel 🤔 I’m thinking, that whatever track is playing is what you apply the effects too, so, if the apply the effects whilst mixing two tracks then the effects will be applied to BOTH tracks playing and you can’t isolate the effects to one track
Hi Chris, it really depends on the mixer I’m afraid. Some mixers have send-return effects that have send-return or fx knobs available per channel and usually we turn that up when we want the effect only applied to that channel.

I've tested that exact setup. I had EFX-500 between Send 1 & Return A with TRS cables. Send 1 can be switched between pre/post fader. Tail FX like the Delay & Echo worked best with post fader & 100% wet on EFX-500. I remember that any other FX would create a phasing douplicate on the sound when it was post fader so I had to switch to pre fader, pull the channels fader down & then send & do FX.

Fajar Pratama send return is used if you use the efx connected to the send return of an external mixer. If not, just use it direct and don’t switch to send return.

you can do it using 2 mixers bro. that's what i did. you just choose a channel on your other mixer for the signal coming from the other one (out).

how can you connect this with cdjs :/?
via mixer you can do a send-return connection. If just direct from CDJ then it's the normal input output
