I take these teachings very seriously because I realize the importance of my life when I think of who I am within my family and to my family this helps me to remember that I have so much to accomplish in my life that I only wish my kids can learn from the ancestors like I have in this life I was gifted :)
I've always been fond of Horned Toads. I discovered them as a child by way of my aunt, who was 1/4th Cherokee, and very spiritual and mystic. She had them as pets.
White people always claim Cherokee? Soon as somebody asks me what I am mixed with and I tell them I'm Navajo and black somebody like you comes out and says, oh my great great grandmother was a Cherokee princess. When there was never such a thing as royalty among the Cherokee people. You better make sure that your aunt wasn't a $5 Indian. Do your research.
Wow your horned toad looks similar to the Australian thorny devil (lizard)! They are also super cute. I enjoyed the story of protection about grandfather horned toad, thank you. As a child, I was very drawn to your culture and turquoise especially. So many beautiful teachings! The good teachings are so plentiful. Your history is the true story, your true story, the one of the white man is a lie and the truth is hidden from him.
Thank you for your wisdom, and for speaking of one of my favorite little beasts. I grew up in the TX Panhandle, and we caught and released them every summer, from the time the first little pink baby horned toads showed up. We turned them in their backs, and patted them. When they flattened out, or puffed up, we thought it was because they liked it. They may have given us some protection in our perilous lives. They were certainly patient with us. The spiral you some of reminded me of the Zapatistas, in Chiapas, Mexico. They call their government circles “caracoles”, meaning snail, and in a spiral configuration, to symbolize community and autonomy. Wherever and whoever we are, we see and create symbols that are often universal, speaking to our deepest natures and aspirations. Thank you for once again bringing peace to my day.
What you are learning is not so much wisdom but rather eternal doctrines (as far as they could preserve them) their forefathers brought when they left Jerusalem 600bc. You'd be stunned at how that a certain oft derided Church in America contains these teachings in it's Temples & little book they're trying to teach the world about it's coming forth & purpose. But alas, America is not listening nor interested.

Hello, Grandfather- I hope you are well. In the European tradition, concentric circles represent the World Tree. On the rock at the beginning of this video there is a concentric circle. What do concentric circles mean in the traditions of your people? The World Tree is a subject that means much to me. I am particularly interested in the ‘bird’ that lives at the top of the ‘tree’. There is evidence of Neanderthal World Tree worship in Western Europe over 176,000 years ago. It is very ancient and based in paranormal reality. The truth and beauty of your teachings has touched me deeply. Thank you. Much respect. Luke

My back alley in a semi urbanized area of NW Tucson still has a small population of horned lizards. I try to help them by giving all the nearby black ant hills some extra food, since that is their primary food source.
Often three lessons with symbolism. The one on the surface, the one just below and the deeper one where greater understanding lies. You have to listen very carefully and put great thought into it to learn all three. The Dineh have profound spoken history.
Yes.!!! Growing up my brother and I would find these little guys, my grandpa (New Mexican Spanish) mentioned one time that they were protection against evil, and showed us how to make a little terrarium for them.

I found horned toads all the time along the railroad tracks as a kid in Fall River, Kansas. I caught them and handled them all the time. Wow. Sadly their population has seemed to decline in the area since they removed the railroad.
