I was going to offer to breath for her 😏but yeah she's great because she gets lost in the song. It is a fun song because it has these unexpected change ups.
Bought this on vinyl when it was released, with the original sleeve before it was banned. Possibly the greatest album of all time, from one of the greatest bands of all time, although they never captured me as much ever again after this album. Nirvana my top then GnR, but if GnR had split after this album it might well be the other way around, or if Nirvana had gone on to make bland stuff like GnR did.

Seeing someone your age getting so excited makes me remember what it was like years ago when I'd hear these songs for the first time. It brings me joy.
Every kid who grew up in the 80's hears that guitar intro then the drums and we know what's coming...all-out assault...the last 2+ minutes of this song can't be topped even all these years later... this band just exploded on the scene and it was metal domination. Back when MTV not only played music videos but played metal all the time! What an amazing decade to grow up in!
I watched Guns'n'Roses in Lisbon 1992, with Soundgarden and Faith No More opening for them. Axl Rose, Mike Patton and Chris Cornell in one day, 3 of the best vocalist of all time. One of the best days of my life.
I saw GnR in Dallas in 91 at the old Texas Stadium (where the Cowboys used to play), with Metallica (off their Black album) and Faith No More opening. That was an amazing concert.
Sry but Hendrix n Zepplin were many yrs b4 these dudes likewise a ton of other Rock bands..I'd give them very little credit for anything except some good songs etc.
Always my favorite G N'R song because of the wild energy, so many incredible changes, Slash's solo, and how amazingly cool the band looks in the video. Every element works perfectly and yet it still sounds like a cataclysmic crash in the middle of Rio de Janeiro.
I saw Guns N Roses in 2017 on the "Not In This Lifetime" tour when Slash and Duff (the bassist) rejoined the band after like 20 years. This was the closer. I can no longer hear the end section of this song when it gets really nuts without picturing in my head fireworks, towers of fire erupting up, and about 7 billion tons of confetti being blown through the entire crowd.
Guns N' Roses puts on a pretty impressive live show. I saw them perform live in San Antonio a little over a year ago and they played their asses off for over 3 hours with barely a break. Axl can no longer sing like he used to, but I appreciate the effort he puts into it. I'm so happy that Axl and Slash finally worked out their differences and are playing together again, they were born to make music together.

The live color footage was from the Meadowlands ( Giants Stadium ) in NJ , missed this show because I was sick as a dog. Black & white live footage is from Castle Donington festival in the UK.
Some of those shots are from Giants Stadium in East Rutherford NJ, I was there. It was GNR, Deep Purple and Aerosmith. During Smoke on the Water some people in the upper deck lit some seats on fire. What a night.
I first heard this song nearly 40 years ago, my sister was blasting it in her room and I was instantly hooked. My sister lost her battle to cancer a couple years ago and this song was the first thing to play when I turned on my radio. Seeing your reaction to GnR is absolutely adorable and heart warming. Thank you for sharing. Everyone should hear this song at least once. \m/
I love this song! Glad to see you enjoying it too and spreading this classic rock jam. Slash and Axl usually grabbed most people's attention from the band. Singers and lead guitars usually do. DO NOT sleep on Duff. This dude IS (not was) and incredible musician. These bass lines were incredible
If I could have been anyone in the world between 1987 and 1991, it would have been Slash. This was and still is my favorite GnR track. I WORE out the cassette single in my Walkman on car trips. Appetite For Destruction is an absolute banger of an album. Slash's 2nd solo that just goes on and on until the song ends is one of my all time favorite solos.
yeah nah looking back it now never thought about it much but yes axles voice is amazing and slashes guitar work is top of the line, perfect voice for this band. // guns (for the hard rock aspect) ' Roses' for the soft ballad rock aspect

Lots of amazing GnR to listen to, but can I also recommend the super group Velvet Revolver? It has Slash, Duff, and Matt from GnR along with Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots, and Dave Kushner from various bands.
The lower register is Axl, he had massive range (there was/is a video of a show where his voice is done so he sings in his natural lower register and it’s amazing)
saw them in 2017, not quite as much jumping around but played this song as the encore, fireworks and all and it was still a 2 hour almost non stop show that was tremendous.

GNR's original lineup, Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven was an unstoppable force of nature. Each were terrific musicians/ performers in their own right but together was pure gold. And Slash has become an icon of guitarists on the same level as Jimmy Page and Eddie Van Halen.
I still remember seeing this video for the 1st time when it came out, my 13 yr old mind was instantly blown - the whole Appetite For Destruction album is all kinds of awesome!
I'm glad that somebody talked Aileen into giving this one a listen & reaction. I was pretty sure she'd groove on it, and I enjoyed seeing her enjoy it. 🙂
I first heard GNR when my older brothers wore out their tape in the late 80s. I rediscovered them in high school around 1999, and that marked the start of my music journey. I got to see them for the first time last year, and it was a great experience. Sure, Axl can't sing the same way anymore, but for the whole 3 hour (!) show, I felt like a kid again 🥲
Aileen great job with your reaction and thoughts on this video for Paradise City from Guns and Roses the clips are from a live concert but the audio is the Studio version. First air in 1988 . This precursor to Atomic Sun from The Warning .

Love your reactions! You're very fun to watch. I was 15 when GNR debuted in 1987, though this song and video wasn't released until early '89. I actually first heard this song in late '87 from all the word of mouth going around on how great the whole album was. A friend introduced me to this song, along with the whole album, and I bought the album after my next paycheck. You could actually do reactions on this whole 12 song 54 minute album one by one and we'd love to watch it.
I'm surprised that you haven't heard this gem of a song, it's such a classic! I used to play this song on this toy guitar I bought from the dollar store 😂

This entire album was killer. Patience is amazing. But the ones they couldn’t play on the radio are amazing too. It’s so easy, Mr Brownstone a lot of there songs we’re dealing with very hard drug use so the radio station refused to play them. But I remember being 11-12 and stealing this cd from my 16 year old sister it was just too good to only hear when she was around
'Patience' wasnt on this album but yes, the entire album was amazing. Bought this on vinyl when it was released, with the original sleeve before it was banned. Possibly the greatest album of all time.
In 1990 the brand new Riverport Amphitheater in St. Louis had Gun N Roses, so it started with the band being seriously late. Then one punch Danny was squirting Axl with a water bottle, and Axl jumped down there, and knocked him out. The band walked off the stage, and left the amphitheater, but the fans freaked out, and tore millions of dollars of seating out in a riot. That is Guns N Roses.

This just isn't my favorite GnR song, but my favorite song of all time, as I can still remember the first night I heard it, where I was, and what I was doing in the moment. I can't say how many times I've heard it over the years, maybe in to the thousands at this point, and it can still give me chills(a true rock anthem that NEVER gets old).
/ singer. Was at a dive bar in Memphis (Rascals) and Axl was at a table with a group of girls and the band was up there waiting on him to sing. Duff walked up to the mic and said, ok, I'll sing. Axl jumped over the table, walking across the next table and landed at the mic right when the song got to where the vocals were to come in.
I was deployed to the Med on an aircraft carrier when this album was released. Catching up on 6 months of music and drinking was fun. I still have the CD.
My favourite Gn'R song by far is Coma, followed by Locomotive. They're both very lyrical and kind of a ride. They're also somewhat obscure album tracks, so very few reactors have done them. I'd love to see them here, or at least Coma.
Fun fact: My first ever band shirt was in 1988 or 89 when I took one of my dad's plain white t-shirts and drew with marker the Guns N' Roses logo and album cover from Appetite for Destruction across the front. Since I was about 10 my parent's weren't sure what to think about that. lol
You getting overexcited is part of the reason why we're here! Your in-the-moment dedication is infectious and glorious to see!

Got to see them live, but back in the 90's not now a days. Hell of a show!
For sure the Best hard rock band of 90's. Yeah your reaction it made me smile. Thank you aileen
i remember when this cameout, andi hearditon the radio, went straightout and bought the record
Duff is one of the best Punk / Rock Bass players ever.
/ singer. Was at a dive bar in Memphis (Rascals) and Axl was at a table with a group of girls and the band was up there waiting on him to sing. Duff walked up to the mic and said, ok, I'll sing. Axl jumped over the table, walking across the next table and landed at the mic right when the song got to where the vocals were to come in.
lol
combined with the rhythm guitar of Izzy Stradlin and Slash on lead guitar and it was a making for a killer sound
I'd love to see them here, or at least Coma.
in the last 20 or 30 seconds of this song it turns really punk. it shows you how close some genres of music really are.
Fun fact: My first ever band shirt was in 1988 or 89 when I took one of my dad's plain white t-shirts and drew with marker the Guns N' Roses logo and album cover from Appetite for Destruction across the front. Since I was about 10 my parent's weren't sure what to think about that. lol
I remember when I got use your illusion 1 and 2 on cassette tape lol. I listened to it until it gave out
This just popped up on my feed, I think you might be my new fav youtuber
