Some country suggestions for a pokemon region: -South Africa -New Zealand Theses 2 countries have a variable and beautiful geography (mountains,deserts,volcanoes...) and have also a great culture (even if New Zealand culture could be too similar to Hawaii culture) and their sizes are correct
+Luki0922 That could happen. With ideas like: An original scorpion-themed Pokémon A Ghost/Fighting type skeleton-like Pokémon The Legendries could be based on the Mexican myths, Alebrijes (Spirit Animals, if you will).
What about Germany? It might be controversial due to getting into WWII subjects, but it'd be cool if they made the Gym Leaders based off of Brother Grimm Fairytales!
Regions based off of: -Italy (including San Marino, the Vatican, Malta and Corsica from France) -Benelux -Germany -Siberia/Alaska -Midwestern US -Brazil -Argentina -Iberia -Central America -West Africa -Southeast Asia -China (+ Mongolia maybe) -India -The Baltic States -Canada -Caribbean -Oceanic Islands (Melanesia, Polynesia etc.) -Egypt -Caucasus Region (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) -Turkey and Cyprus -East Africa -Indonesia (+ Malaysian Borneo, Papua New Guinea, Brunei and East Timor -New Zealand -Some kind of Balkan combination like Slovenia + Croatia or something -Bulgaria -Central Europe -European Russia -Romania (+ Moldova) -Madagascar -Korean Peninsula (little controversial but...)
Don't forget, the Philippines is also a good pick due to the many various flora and fauna there. Not to mention the many folklore and mythical creatures there.
Thinking about the Ratatoskr legendary, it would have been neat if that legend was a variation of the Electric Rodent that pops up in every region, but this time, as a 600-BST legendary. And it's lair would have as many of the electric rodents (Pikachu, Raichu, Alolan Raichu, Pichu, Plusle, Minun, Pachirisu, Emolga, Dedenne, Togedemaru) as the Scandinavian region had.
What about a mythical rodent type based on the Norwgian Lemming. *very careful thinking in progress* These small rodents are known to be extremely aggressive, and incredibly fearless, not being afraid of standing up against threats that are many times their size.
I'm looking forward to the 'sequel' to get to know Team Berserk better and more of Sigurd's story. I love the Dala horse idea, kinda reminds me of Vivillion but better because it wouldn't involve so much trading, that was so annoying. The Loki rival would be funny too, the not knowing would be so nice after the kinda sorta predictable rivals we've had over the past generations. I like the whole trickster aspect as well, but I have always believed Loki to be pretty misunderstood and looked down upon. Not sure if that's just my opinion or not though. The Valkyrie Guild would have been 10 times beyond awesome, I love the kind of lore that comes with it. The special trainer class can give so much background to characters, especially if you could somehow incorporate a male counterpart and have the possibility of the player becoming part of the Guild. I think it would be awesome if there were mini postgame episodes where you go on missions with other Valkyrie. I love these ''What if ... was a Pokemon region'' videos, the ones with cut ideas contain so much cool stuff as well. So definitely keep it up buddy. Sorry, Mr Buddy, of course ;-) A region based on my homeland of the Netherlands would be pretty cool as well, but it's totally understandable if it isn't doable, we're pretty small after all, though maybe expanding to include Belgium and Luxemburg to create a Benelux region can give you enough material to work with? I don't know.
I actually wished you also tackled how the possible OST and music of each "what if" region would sound like, like the iconic trumpets of Hoenn representing the "adventurism" of the region The OST of Scandinavian region, I would imagine, have the viking and "mystic" feeling on it with roaring beats. Flutes, drums and horns would be the main instruments. The reason being that your story in my interpretation is deeply rooted on its ancestral times. Also, Wouldnt it be cool to hear a pokemon battle theme with *roaring drums* that sounds like you're about to go to Ragnarok? :^) I mean, I could think of other possible OST for your "what if" regions, but Im no music expert ^^;
Hey, Maru try listen to an Amon Amarth song. They’re from Sweden and their music is Viking Metal. I recommend Twilight of The Thunder God or The Way Of The Vikings.
Since dragons seem to be a big part of the story and you thought about including all the Dragon-Type Trainers, why not have a Dragon Tournament held in the Scandinavia region? I can imagine it taking place in a large dome like we see in How To Train Your Dragon where the cadets learn to fight/train dragons. If the Player had a Dragon-Type Pokemon with them, they could enter the Dragon Tournament to fight over Dragon-Type Pokemon and Trainers who specialize in Dragon (note: only Dragon-Types can compete. If it's not a Dragon-Type, it cannot compete). Maybe the evil team could even try crashing the Dragon Tournament at one point when it's introduced and try to destroy all the Dragons but are stopped by the Player and one of the Dragon Trainers there (such as Lance or Iris). I'd love to have something like that included int the region/story!
Although you said you were a bit disappointed that you didn’t use Jörmungandr and Fenrir for the legendaries, I thought it was nice that you didn’t use those two. It gave you the opportunity to use parts of the mythology that is more overlooked. Personally, I had never heard of the creatures that you based the legendaries off of, so it gave me the opportunity to learn more about the culture. Road less traveled I guess. I really like the Valkyrie subplot idea. Since we got the Sigard backstory for Scandinavia, could this be an indication that Kara would play a larger role in another region? That’d be pretty cool. As I said in previous videos, I love the characters you create, so any opportunity to explore them is a-ok in my book. Happy new year Mr. Buddy! Can’t wait to see what new content you put out this year.
Se Larskeih Yeah I definately agree that Finland based would be cool, Maybe it could even include some territories around gulf of Finland like St Petersburg and Estonia ☺
Also when i was looking at the places were vikings were during the viking era and then buddy said that the Team Berserk would have had their base In Iceland. Well in Finland Vikings were taking shelter in the south west of Finland. So maybe after you would beat the game you could go to Finland south west part where the Team Berserk has their base. And also there could be like couple cities in Finland that are under control of Team Berserk( Because Vikings came from Sweden also , this part of the game could have something to do when Finland was under control of Sweden) Team Berserk could also have their base where Turku is.
I was actually curious of whether Fjolnir had 2 Murkrow in his home to represent the two owned by Odin, so it's kinda nice hearing that you considered them as being their own regional variants! With how the Scandinavia region's story concluded, I feel like it has the best sequel potential out of the ones you've made up so far, especially after knowing of this Valkyrie Guild idea. Maybe Team Berserk gets split like Team Plasma because most of the clan can't let go of their deeply rooted dragon-slaying tradition despite Sigurd himself bringing back one that he considers a friend? How would the admins be split off? I'm also a bit conflicted about the Loki rival idea. It'd be refreshing to see such an unpredictable rival and the tension he'd bring just by showing up sounds kind of exciting! Though, like you mentioned, it sounds like he'd end up just being too complicated of a character to work with and, given the importance you planned on giving him, it could've been a huge detriment to the story. I'd kinda like you to revisit the idea though! Maybe not a Loki character entirely but more of an unpredictable loose cannon character if you'd be able to fit them in.
I only just got around to watching this now but I am ready to buckle in and enjoy!! I wrote another kind of long one so here's a summary; I love all the ideas but understand you had to cut them to keep it concise and not overload the viewers; maybe Odin's ravens could've been their own pokemon, rather than variants? I also ramble a bit about how Yggdrasil could be used as part of Team Evil's plot in a sequel. The whole Loki-rival concept is also just, really good, man, I love it. I am absolutely PUMPED for a nordic sequel; I know that whatever it contains it'll be phenomenal because you made it and you take a lot of pride and care and effort in this kind of stuff. and here's my rambling: Anhol sounds like it could be a postgame relic area almost... nope, wait, you just brought up a postgame area! A dungeon area would actually be so good; a nod to pokemon mystery dungeon, probably, if it were to be part of a main series game. Ohhh more team berserk, I am on board. YES I can't WAIT for this sequel video!! Fairy type gothitelle... mmm... I understand why you cut it (gotta make those decisions! it doesn't make that much sense to split them up, you're right (despite how cool the concept is)) but I would've definitely used that. Odin's ravens... idk why, to me it would make more sense for them to be an original pokemon instead of another regional variant, especially as Murkrow and Honchkrow have the whole witches and broomsticks/mob boss thing going on? I know regional variants can change a lot and being the crow pokemon is their thing, but that didn't stop game freak from making a bazillion frog, cat, and dog pokemon. (and monkey, fish, even something as specific as "penguin" has been duplicated...) Maybe there could've actually been two variants of the same raven pokemon (seeing as Odin has two ravens) found in either ""version"" of the game, like Passimian and Oranguru in S/M games? I mean I know why Fenrir/Jormungand weren't included (and i really appreciated seeing other legendaries included because it makes the region seem less surface-level gimmicky), but I still would've loved to see them (maybe as regular pokemon instead of legendaries?). Also, Ratatoskr. It's a giant squirrel that whispers nightmares, who doesn't want one? Oop! You just brought up Ratatoskr. All these concepts of Yggdrasil and Ratatoskr are actually v interesting, but I understand why you had to cut them from the original video; it didn't entirely fit with the rest of the theme. Also I think that Xerneas was meant to be based on Yggdrasil? But a gigantic grass type sounds way cooler (my only issue being, if the region was built on it, and you catch it... does that mean the region crumbles? OH, is that a villain motivation for the sequel region?? Was Iceland built on Yggdrasil-legendary, and Team Evil wants to catch it or awaken it, but doing so will cause the region to crumble? Am I reading too far into this and rambling? probably) I have a huge weakness for character development... Bjorn, I also love you now. Sigurd's scar... waiting on that sequel! I will wait a thousand years if I have to. I'm already pumped for it. YEAHHHHH LOKI; a rival who seems ambiguous and probably using you? Who straight-up joins the evil team? Mannn that's such a cool concept I didn't even think about it; again, I understand you cut it for time, but holy mother of 'mons I would've absolutely loved that character. (now, I'm a sucker for redemption arcs, so if they hadn't turned out to be helping the player I may have cried, but still a SICK concept nonetheless) Vaalllkyries!!!! This guild sounds SO awesome (i know i've been saying that a lot, but listen, it's true). Valkyrie v valkyrie duel... again, i know, cut for time, but again, listen, I would've loved it. (and, you know, because I, need more commas, in this sentence, take, this, insert) I can't WAIT to see them Mr Buddy, you have a really ingenious creative mind; the fact that you were able to come up with so much alone is impressive, but then afterwards knowing what should be kept and cut from the final video takes a certain level of artistic sacrifice; as soon as people come up with cool ideas (which these all are!), they're inclined to tell them all, but being able to pick and choose which elements are most crucial to the story to better inform and entertain the audience (without confusing and overloading them) is a great skill to have. Keep up the good work, I'm always hyped for another video!
After seeing this, I'd be interested in seeing you make one on a South American region. The carnaval would make an amazing event. Brazil is big enough to be it's own region and some of the neighboring countries would make an amazing region too
Since Jörmungandr has already been used another option would have been Nidhöggr. It is a lindworm (a type of dragon) who lives in helheim and is said to feed on the souls of the worst. It also gnaws on the roots of Yggdrasil causing damage to the tree, because of this Nidhöggr symbolizes in some ways the evil that constantly threatens the world tree and the nine worlds.
I would say if you made one of the Valkyries related to Cynthia of the Elite Four, like be a cousin or something like that, with Cynthia being a top dragon type trainer I would only find that to make some sense
Yeah Mr Buddy. And Happy New Year! Plus I would suggest that the Valkyrie leader should be based on Brynhildr the Valkyrie Queen of Iceland who appeared in the Volsung Saga. You know the same folk story that Sigurd appeared in.
I'd very much love to see a "sequel" revolving around Iceland and Sigurd's/Team Berserk story! You have very nice stories and ideas! I'll probably go watch more of your Pokemon Region videos soon, they're very well thought out
Love this. The original video was absolutely loaded with interesting story and very nearly perfect in every way. It's great to know will be sequel(s), and that there's still tons more already existing content to pack them with. 😄
All of these extra notes are pretty interesting. Your explanation of why you didn't include more new Pokemon makes sense, since it's probably a lot of work to make the specific designs for all of them. The Hugin/Mugin version of Murkrow is what I'd expect for an expanded version of the region, and I hope that you work out all the kinks eventually - I also liked your idea for the Dala Horse, and the Yggdrasil and Ratatoskr legendaries sound awesome. Hopefully if you add more Pokemon, you'll consider the ones I suggested in my response to your first video, too. The Loki rival route sounds cool, as he definitely sounds like a memorable and fun foe, and I'm a little that you didn't manage to figure out all of the details for his story arc in the end; still, the rival you came up with sounds pretty good and fits with the story you were trying to tell. While I understand why you thought that the focus on Kara would take away from the main plot of the game, I still think that you could have included the Valkyrie Guild, if only to a more minor extent - have hints of Kara's backstory come up in conversations/books you can access during the course of the game, just not to the larger extent you first had in mind (make it more optional, like how you can get hints about people like Phoebe and Flannery's relations with making it a big part of the story). But I'm happy that you still consider the Valkyrie lore canon for the region, as it being spread across multiple northern regions would be awesome; I wish you the best of luck in finding a way to gradually bring the lore into the settings and stories of the coming regions.
Oh gosh, so much awesome stuff! i can understand why you cut it, but it's great that you made a video about it. Honestly, you're ducking amazing at making up stories and characters and i'm looking forward to see more stuff!
I haven't even seen the real video yet now I know that an hour of Scandinavia, which I don't even live there, would be something I'm willing to watch because your designs are amazing and I want to hear everything. Show me your logic, buddy. Happy new year! Also, I would love to see a "What if France was a Pokemon Region" video, please! :D
I thought the ancient dungeon area would be interesting twist from the traditional getting the starters. Like was the player and your rival falls down to ancient dungeon area they may explore while tying to find a way out, doing some puzzles here and there, before find the room where you find the eggs of the starters. Regardless I still like that you change the way you receive your starters! Keep it up loves this region video!
I think it's really cool with the ideas you had, but i understand why they couldn't be in the main video TTvTT. The one thing I would've loved to see however was the complete Elite Four for this region. I love the background and especially design of the Valkyrie member and it makes me wonder who else would be on this Elite Four and what their motivations are for being there. It seems as Pokemon games have gone on the Elite Four slowly gain more presence than earlier ones, so it's nice to see some good attention on them
One of the coolest concepts for a pokemon game ever! Really Good job on the story behind scandinavian history and how you based the story Line on anciant mythology! But it would be better if some of the mountain areas were in the summer too! Norwegian mountains is fantastic in the summer and i really think that would make a great place for dragons, fire and some electric pokemon 🤙🏼
I would like all of the cut content of the characters and lore to be included, and the cut Pokemon as well. Though Ratatoskr would be a dark type considering that squirrel constantly lies and eggs on Nidhog and the birds on top of Yggdrasil in order to get them to destroy the world tree.
If you had picked Yggdrasil, you would've run into the same issue you had for Jormungandr and Fenrir - Xerneas is, in part, a reference to Yggdrasil and Yveltal a reference to the eagle (whose name I can't remember off the top of my head) that perched on it. They reference a couple different myths on top of these as well.
8:26 We practically had the same idea, but for different region because in the England region that I thought of, I made regional variants of Murkrow and Honchkrow based on the ravens of the Tower of London.
Happy New Year, but I can't wait to see what other regions you're going to show us. I would laugh though if each 'region' had its own valkeries (like two or three).
I hope that extended editions become a thing in the future. There's never too much world building; even if it makes too long of a video, you know an actual game would have this stuff! A couple of region suggestions: Korea (either just the south, or the whole and tackling how to make North Korea E-rated), Pacific Northwest (Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon), and, for a bigger challenge, a region based of of the map of either Disneyland or Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom (I know, not a region per se, but the distinct lands and rides could lead to interesting ideas).
I would love to see a region based off of Aztec culture/mexico( and parts of America (that were taken from mexico)). There is a lot of cool gods, myths and overall culture that the part of the world can offer. The entire area is very bio diverse and has multiple different creatures that haven't been Pokemon before. I'd also really like it if you could have the Galapagos islands in there too (i know they're not part of the area but there only a few hundred miles away from the area so i think it counts). Either way i'm pretty sure you could find some really awesome and cool things to do with those countries.
You should've kept Sigurd's backstory in the video because i wanted to know his backstory and why he was able to see that Dragon-type pokemon aren't as bad as he believed after his final battler with the player.
Idea: Do a "What if Iceland was a Pokemon Region?" and make the main character a member of Team Berserk that is old enough to be an official member. The starters can be homages to the Team Berserk normal Pokemon and travel through the region defeating the elders which would be the gym leaders.
I think you should do What if IBERIAN PENISULA was a pokémon region... That way you have 2 contries (PORTUGAL and SPAIN) with some diferences in colture but that toghether have a cool story... Besides you have the islands of Açores and Madeira... Besides of colture we have mountains and beaches and cities... You have Gibraltar maybe a place for a Legendary besides we have some cool fauna in Portugal... Like the iberian lynx for example... If you need more help just let me know but it would be cool
There are a few locations that could have been interesting landmarks in this region, as well as some more regional variants of existing Pokémon, as well as ideas for new common Pokémon. *Areas and landmarks:* 1. Nordkapp (North Cape). This is the northernmost point of the European mainland. This could have served as a post-League area with very high level pokémon (like Cerulean Cave or Mt. Silver), and the place where the other Legendary resided. At the 71 degree North monument, you could have had a puzzle that when you solved it, the other legendary would show up and confront you, allowing you to capture it. A surf-only route would then open up and lead you to the actual northernmost point of the European mainland, where you would be able to battle an incredibly powerful trainer (Similar to Red), who has a diverse team of Pokémon, between level 80 and 90. - This trainer could be based on Heimdall, the gatekeeper of Bifrost. 2. Svalbard Islands. Another area that could serve as a post-League area, accessible by boat from the mainland. This island-group has a long history of coal-mining, ghost towns, polar bears and much more. The Global Seed Vault is also located here, and could have served as a point of interest, where you would pick up a key item or something like that. 3. Kiruna. An alternative to Luleå, as the mining town of the region. 4. Borg (Lofoten). An actual Viking settlement that was discovered back in the 1980's, and featured the remains of the largest known "Long-house" from the Viking era. It was reconstructed in the 90's, and now serves as a real experience, where you can see how the prominent Viking families lived. - This could have served as the basis for the Team Berserk main base. *Additional regional Pokémon variants:* 1. Grimer / Muk - Crude Oil variant (Poison/Fire?). Norway became a very wealthy country after the discovery of oil in the North Sea back in the 1960's. These regional Grimer/Muk variants could represent crude oil, and be found while surfing by the coast of the Stavanger based town. 2. Bouffalant - Mosk-ox variant (Normal/Ice). Mosk-oxes are found in the southern mountainous highlands of Norway and Sweden, A rare animal in the real world, and their habitat is rather small. These animals are closer in relations to sheep and goats rather than cows, and are survivors from the latest Ice Age. They have an incredibly thick coat, and they are well adapted to live in harsh cold. 3. Alternative Stantler variant - Based on the Svalbard Reindeer. These reindeer are much bulkier, and stockier looking than their mainland counterparts. They sport a very thick fur-coat, and are much more resilient to cold compared to their normal counterpart. 4. Hugin/Munin variant of the Murkrow line. Odin's ravens are excellent regional variants. 5. Grass/Rock type variant of the Mareep line, based on the many breeds of sheep originating from Scandinavia. Many of which has excellent rock climbing abilities. The variant I would recommend as a base for this Mareep line are commonly known as "wild-sheep", but they are also called "Gammelnorsk Spælsau". 6. Regional Sharpedo variant, based on the large "brugde". Scientifically known as: Cetorhinus maximus. *New common and rare Pokémon ideas:* 1. An evolutionary line based on the moose. These animals are practically everywhere in the region, especially around the northern parts of both Norway and Sweden, where the pine forests are thick. These could be dual Grass/Water types or mono grass type, since they feed on tree-bark or plants, though they do swim very well, and will use this ability in the summer to ward off pests. The moose is a large animal, closely related to deer. Like cows, they have split hooves, and a 4-part digestive system. In Norway, they are often referred to as "King of the Forest", and with good reason. The base coloration of the moose is dark brown/gray~ish. Shiny variants could be entirely white, based on the rare Swedish Värmland variant. Gender-specific designs would be necessary too, since only the males have antlers 2. Evolutionary line based on the cod-fish (and the relatives of it). The most sought-after fish along the Norwegian coast. By definition, this is a pure Water-type. 3. Evolutionary line based on the blue tit or the great tit. These songbirds are by far the most common birds that are nesting in Scandinavia. and could serve as the alternate two or three-stage bird evolution of the region. These will be best suited as normal/flying types. 4. Pseudo-legendary line based on the regional snakes, ending in the fabled Jörmungandr. Since Jörmungandr is the world serpent, it would make a lot of sense having this line as a poison/ground dual type. This could also serve as a game-specific line, where one game featured this line, and the other pseudo-line was only available in the other. 5. Pseudo-legendary line based on the arctic wolves, ending in the fabled Fenrir. This line would have been perfect as an ice/dark type. 6. A mythical Pokemon (similar to Mew), that roams the map after a certain end-game event. This could be based on Ratatoskr, and feature balanced stats. 7. A single-stage flying type based on the white-tailed eagle. This is the most common bird of prey in Scandinavia. It's a large eagle, primarily found near water. As such, it could be a water/flying type, with a very high physical attack stat.
I still think it should be more emotional. Here are some twists: After the first fight against Sigurd, he shoots a blackened icicle at the Trainer, but the starter dives in front of it, taking the shot for its master. It becomes unplayable until you summon Stamneighr as it slowly dies by the minute. Before you summon Stamneighr, you are greeted by a shiny (male) Goblistapp and catches it. After fighting and catching Stamneighr, you realize your partner has succumbed to the freezing and mourns over it, until your tear lands on its heart and it defrosts back to life. We get a pretty epic cutscene battle with the island's Pokémon, Rival, Professor and Champion against Team Berserk. After losing once more and unleashing another tantrum, Kara has a change of heart and confesses Sigurd tortured the stolen starter to become a bloodthirsty beast. You learn that the second Legendary Sigurd controlled, Frosqual, is equally destructive as the human is, who has gone completely drunk with power. After the final battle, Frosqual breaks loose and tries to kill the Trainer under Sigurd's command until Stamneighr sends it packing in a giant tornado, taking you and Sigurd with it. Everyone thinks the Trainer died to save them all, but he manages to survive and gets glomped by the partner...So does Sigurd, who prepares to shoot him again with the cursed icicle. Kara sees him and dives in front of the impact, freezing both her AND Sigurd solid. Things get gruesome here as Sigurd slowly freezes all over while falling off a REALLY high balcony. By the time he's completely frozen, he smashes into pieces from the impact. Stamneighr then unfreezes the curse Frosqual had caused, but not before melting Kara back to life. Now for the really emotional part, the Trainer, after becoming Champion, has the toughest choice; His partner has to leave. After a heartfelt moment between human and pokemon (with a tearjerking hug), the partner slowly floats up to the heavens while everyone (with Kara and a reformed Bjorn) tearfully look on...And the partner smacks into the portal like a fly in a window before gently floating back down to ground level. The Trainer is then telepathically contacted by Stamneighr that he has freed the region from the Berserkers and fulfilled the prophecy, meaning his partner gets to stay with the Trainer from now on as the stolen starter is adopted by the Professor for rehabilitation and the rest of the Berserkers have been arrested.
Hresvelgar and Nidhoggr as the two legendaries, with Ratatoskr as the side legendary. The first two sat at opposites ends of Yggdrasil, with Ratatoskr running messages from the eagle down to the wyrm to taunt him.
What if Canada was a region you'll be a perfect place. Widely divorced we have a mixed land of mountainous dry and sea Coastal. You can get various Pokemon in this region such as Wolverines, moose, geese,as well as fossil new sea Pokemon since around the dinosaur time most of Canada was under water and the Pokemon can be like an Megalodon or an ancient sea Croc. And The Lure of the specific thing about Canada could be about the First Nations and some of the myths of specific legendaries specific to Native legends
I love the idea of a rival who has some impact on the story, and then even has a part in post game. After the rival's true intentions are finally revealed at the end of the story, having either helped the player, helped berserk, or helped his pokemon (I don't think they should only care about themselves, but their pokemon too, so maybe something happened that they had to take their pokemon to safety). But, once everything goes down, you should have to go find your rival, by going through all the places you've seen them, maybe go through different islands and towns you haven't seen yet, and it'd make for some in-depth post game content. Finally, you find them in one of three places, based on their true intentions (which would be based on some choice you made earlier in the game that is only now revealed to you). When you confront them, they explain and you fight each other. After you win, the rival goes off to be in another region, another nordic one, in another game. It would be great, as they could be the gym leader or the elite four. Love hearing cut content. I still would like to know if you have a place for fans to submit ideas for your region specific pokemon. Like, for moves, names, descriptions, inspirations, stuff like that. I've asked it before.
Omg I love the Valkyrie storyline! I really hope you can expand on it! Love the content MrBuddy, keep up the good work! I hope you feel better soon btw, being ill is not fun :s
Would love to see a Germany region video one day. There’s so much you could include. You could potentially add some new Pokemon based off of proverbs. Pokémon like Farfetch’d originate with proverbs. Some interesting German proverbs to turn into Pokemon could be ‘Ich glaub, mein Schwein pfeift‘ (a whistling pig) ‘Die Kuh vom Eis holen’ (an ice cow) and possibly ‘Des Teufels liebstes Möbelstück ist die lange Bank’ (a possible household Devil?) You could do something interesting with the national animal - The Eagle. Perhaps a legendary, or one of the traditional starter bird Pokemon encountered on the first route. Legendaries or plot lines could also come from the national personifications. Germania, Deutscher Michel and Arminius. Not too many people know of these and could be interesting. For new Pokemon you could make the cuckoo clock into the inanimate object Pokemon. (Ghost - grass type? Possessed clocks by the people who made them.) you could also make the Cornflower (the national flower) into a pokemon. Also a new ghost type that inhabits the old castles perhaps a knights or armour. Cities like Hamburg, Berlin, Köln, München could be places to visit. Helgoland, Rügen (specifically the chalk cliffs) the Black Forest, the Ruhr Valley, many lakes and even the Alps could be places of interest. Helgoland is an island in the North Sea that could be the evil team’s base. The evil team could be inspired by the dark authoritarian history and seek to conquer the world, but that’s already been done. So perhaps could be inspired by something similar to Team Berserk in your Scandinavian episode. Except this team seeks to route out Dark type Pokemon as to prevent the region from going back to its dark past? The technological, cultural and economic histories would have some story too them as well. And a good starting location for the new player would be somewhere in the south. I’m sure other people have other ideas too and I apologise for the vast amount of ghost types, they’re my favourite. @Mr Buddy
Valkyrie guild sounds hella great! As Finnish person I would love to see region based on Finland, but I'm gonna look forward any what if region- videos, since these are amazing. Do you have any idea how long will the next one take/when is it?
@mr Buddy if it makes a difference, zigrade was based on nidhoggr, the snake that chews on the world trees roots. AN ENTIRELY SEPERATE UNRELATED SNAKE to jormungandr. of which he and fenris are brothers (you could have a third based on Hel)
The Murkrow and Dala horse ideas were great. Really sad they got cut, as really deserve to be in the region if you ever do more with these videos. I'd definitely try to use Fenrir and Jormungandr as Legendaries for a Nordic region too. Sort of sad they got used up for XY. But if I may make one additional suggestion? Since Legendaries often form trios, I'd ALSO include their sister, Hel. Not sure how much you researched, but, but for clarification, Hel is a goddess rather than a monster. Probably saw her in Thor: Ragnarok, though her name is "Hel" and never "Hela". Hela is all Marvel Comics. Hel was the ruler (or personification) of the realm "Hel". There's not much said about her, but there is one important thing to know if you create a Pokemon based on her. Hel was said to be "one half black and one half flesh colored", meaning half her body was dead, the other half alive. They don't say whether this split was vertical or horizontal, but most people chose vertical for dramatic effect. She also had a guard dog. The legendaries for Yggdrasil and Ratatoskr also sounded so good, and I really hope you end up using them. I don't think there's been a plant legendary like that, unless I'm forgetting one. And speaking of interesting, I'd say the same for the Valkyrie Guild. It really sounds fantastic and you should definitely use that in future! You mentioned in the main video that Kara and the E4 member might be actual sisters? Are you going to keep that, because that sounded great to me. As far as the E4 member's name, you could try Rota. That was a Valkyrie name. Not much on her. Or maybe Sigrun (Victory Rune), who was the Valkyie who was said to later be reincarnated as Kara. And if I might suggest, you could use Brunhilde as the name for the guild leader. She IS probably the most famous Valkyrie of all now, since she's the star of the Wagner opera. One last thing. No fossil Pokemon? Not even discarded? I'm surprised you didn't at least think of some.
Hi Mr Buddy, Happy new year. Loved this new video of cut ideas and most of them were awsome. I would like if you could do a "what if ... was a pokemon region" of the Iberian Peninsula because i live in Portugal and since it's a such little country maybe together with Spain it would be easier to find more material i know that even with Spain helping is difficult, but i know that game freak would never do a based region on Portugal, i would love if you could.
Waaaait...isent Zygard based on Nidhögg, the dragon that chews on the Bases of The world tree, with Xerneas being The tree and Yveltal being based on the eagel At top of The tree?
From what I researched (and I could be wrong on this!), it seems like Zygarde takes inspiration from both Nidhogg and Jormungandr (as all of Zygardes forms are meant to reference the "Children of Loki" + Loki himself)
Mr Buddy that does make sense, but I got to ask you: did you considering putting in two legendarys based on the most powerful giants? Ymir, the first being to ever exist, (He being a Ice giant) and Surtr, the fire Jötunn. He Who will bring Ragnarok, the end of The gods?
Ireland actually has some Viking touches to its history. This includes the city of Dublin, Ireland's capital. Dublin actually means "dark pool" and was so named because it had a massive deep pool near where the city was erected, which was filled up during the city's expansion over the ages.
i think for a sequel when sigurd goes back to the iceland based region there is an internal conflict in team berserk. perhaps the side that dislikes dragon pokemon loses and is banished from the region. that side (which could be led by a valkyrie) could invade a scotland themed region. perhaps they are trying to reawaken a powerful legendary pokemon to use to reclaim the iceland region. the elite four valkyrie from this region could confront the other valkyrie while you face the legendary pokemon. and when everything is all over and done with the leader of the valkyrie could come and apologise for the trouble and maybe the iceland story and the finland story could have more to do with the valkyrie.
Whenever I myself am thinking about what things new pokemon games could do, I think that they could try to involve the player character's family a bit more, instead of it just being your single/stay-at-home mom who you barely ever see again once you leave on your journey. So one idea I have is that you could this time around live with your dad (who also could be the local pokemon professor) and your mom would be the regional champion. I also thought that the situation could be the other way around (your mom as the professor and your dad is the champion) depending on which version of the game you have. Other idea I had would be that you move in to a new town with both of your parents, as they have been given a job offer as the town's new gym leaders. This would then be the last gym you visit before the pokemon league, as it takes some time to set up. Whatever your parents would then both battle you in a double battle (like Liza and Tate) or only one of them depending on the game version (like with Iris and Drayden) I don't know... Also which type they would use I'm not sure, since it feels like that would set some sort expectation on their child. I first though normal type, but that would be too similar to Norman, so I thought maybe they could run a mixed type gym like Blue, Cilan, Chili and Cress do. They could then use pokemon that are considered to be each others' opposite gender counterpart, like (though not all, to leave their parties room for the region's new pokemon) Nidoking/Nidoqueen, Braviary/Mandibuzz, Miltank/Tauros, Gallade/Gardevoir, Froslass/Glalie, and maybe Mothim/Wormadam, Illumise/Volbeat, Beedrill/Vespiquen (though only one pair of those last ones, or else they might as well have a bug type gym...) Anyway, those were just two of the ideas I had for the possibility of the player character's parents, sorry it's a long comment
i prefer jormungadr and fenrir legendaries over the ones you choose in the scandinavian region. they seem more exiting to fight against and would make fit in really well, but i can see your reasoning. btw great video as always!
About the Dala-horse... It would be sort of a stretch but if the Bylund town was focused around wooden toy making they could be making Dala-horses too, even though Bylund in Danmark is quite a way from Dalarna in Sweden. Going by the idea that the Pokémon region would be sort of a mashup of all three countries. On the list of northern animals I would have put in as new Pokémon we have the Moose, a seemingly obvious choice that I am surprised Gamefreak havn't done yet. And some water based Pokémon based on the type of fishing done here, like Kräftor (Crayfish) or Hummer (Lobster). I know we already have the corpfish but I feel like there is more to do with the design of big shelled animals. Maybe a variant of the Seal that is gray, referencing the Gråsäl (Grey Seal) that's living in the baltic sea. On the flying side we have some cool stuff like the Berguv (Eurasian eagle-owl).
Nooot sure if you read these old messages but, if you still plan to extend to Finland, then mayhap consider teaming it up with Lapland? Also as others have surely suggested, if you want any ideas for Legendaries, there's always Kalevala. As fond as I was about your Valkyrie idea on Scandinavia video, it would feel awfully out of place in Finland however, especially if you aim to keep the region independent instead of being under foreign rule. There's plenty of inspirations for new Pokemon form the ages old religion (suomenusko), and there's plenty of choises from local fauna that can be used to fill missing gasps. What I think, to be challenging however, is the fact that three large and most important Finnish cities are rather close to each-other (Helsinki, Turku Tampere, all being less than 150km from each-other), and moving the player around the region without having large spam constantly happening can prove to be problematic. On other hand trains are commonly late (75% chance of arriving in time), so you could use this as an excuse to send player to other places. witty reason for it could be that the train engine could actually be the inanimate Pokemon (which is seemingly must for every region), and due to it's temper at times trains aren't too willing to move. Second issue that you might find, is that most of Finland is... rather plain in terms of biomes. 60% of land is covered by forest, 30% by swamps and 10% of waterways, so doing anything diverse can be challenging (obviously forests and swamps may overlap). adding of Lapland would allow tundra to become a new healthy biome as well. In any case, please keep up the magnificent work! And I hope that your artists can provide more pictures next times. :3 Don't feel rushed!
I really wish the Valkyries each got a pegasus or at least a different type of horse (normal, unicorn, pegaus, hippocampus) although most of those are Greek that maybe evolved. Since the elite four Valkyrie is a flying specialist anyway, it would make sense. Also, having the Valkyries be sisters seems a bit weird since Kara would be seperated from them somehow but maybe as spiritual "kin" chosen by the Odin champion (who I forgot how to spell).
With the valkyrie guild one cool thing that could be done with them is that their leader would have a legendary pokemon based on a valkyrie in their team and that the said pokemon would be the one that always chooses the next guild leader from among the valkyries when a leader retires or dies.
As a dane myself, i would have loved a regional variant of murkrow based on odins two ravens, and hope your gonna use it for a future nordic region. And the ygdrasil and squirrel (dont remember the name) idea was also really good. Just a bit sad that Denmark seemed to be a lesser part of the story and map. :)
For Iceland, have it be post game (similar to Delta Episode), for a Greenland region; for the Valkyrie Guild, I would have them be ghost (due to, as you mentioned, Valkyries choosing who goes to Valhalla) or flying users(due to them being depicted with wings or in flight)
I feel like a medieval region with the plot of the What if Australia was a region and the subplot of wanting to drive dragon types to extinction would be amazing , especially if the main character is an up and coming knight/trainer from a village that specializes in dragon types, and it'd be a nice twist if you're able to fight alongside your Pokemon, like as your challenged to a battle, it'd be trainer fighting trainer while Pokemon fighting Pokemon, defending each other. This would help develop the partnership and bond between trainer and pokemon
I actually had an interesting idea regarding the Jörmungandr-based Legendary. The idea, was that it was the reason why Dragon Pokemon were so feared and hated in the first place, having attacked several region's ancestors for one reason or another, either out of pure maliciousness or as retaliation for something no one remembers or is hidden. What do you think?
I hope you include Illhveli in your Iceland region as well as the many other aquatic monsters in their folklore. Maybe water could be a large aspect of the region?
Possible ideas for new regions China (Likely Hong Kong or anywhere near it) Mexico Southern United States (Well Texas can be its own region in itself) Midwestern United states (probably The great lakes area) New Zeland Indonesia Russia South Korea Egypt South Africa+Madagascar Argentina UK Ireland Phillipines Brazil I think there are still a few areas of japan that could make their own region too.
You could put a little easter egg, in it after you defeat a normal grunt from team berserk, he mentions that maybe venomoth is a good pokemon for dragon slaying. remember all terrain venomoth: the dragon slayer?
You could use the Faroe Islands as the post game location instead of Iceland since the Faroe Islands, even though they have a small extent of autonomy, they’re a part of the kingdom of Denmark and follow danish laws. Then it would connect better with your already great story and the nature of the islands, being many and small, compares to the the sevii islands post-plot in fire red and leafgreen. But fantastic job overall !!
could you do one on either; Italy: with a colluseum as the elite four or some sort of battle area. India: you could use many if the gods or other creatures as legendary pokemon
That was exactly my idea. Some other ideas for an Italy based region i have are: Team Empire, a Roman Empire based evil team that tries to capture either a Pokemon representing war to use it's powers to create a war and take over the world in the chaos, or a Pokemon representing peace to drain it's powers to do exactly the same thing. Maybe the gladiator gym leader could be a part of it. A secondary evil team based on the mafia. A fire type gym at one of the 2 volcano's, haven't decided wich one. A water type gym in Venice. A flying type gym in Pisa, using the tower of Pisa as his/her gym.
Paul Grote Beverborg yeah the two rival teams, like magma and aqua, but could be roman style and mafia, one referencing modern maybe the other representing the past. I was thinking a normal type gym with a character based off Leonardo Da Vinci and could use a smeargle as his main pokemon. Maybe even an ice gym in the alps. maybe a character based of the Pope, a gym leader or elite four or something
I was actually thinking of the mafia evil team being similair to Team Snagem from Coloseum/XD Gale of Darkness, not the main villains, but just a bunch of criminals who only want to get money and rule the region and help the other evil team because they will get profit if the other team succeeds (i bet if there would be a Pokemon war, they could sell their strong Pokemon for a really high price, even more than the bike in Kanto you can't buy because you can't have enough money in your inventory for some reason).
Be fun see next Nordic region & reimplementation of stuff like Loki. Oh what if Yggdrsil is 1 of the region legendary pair, I don't recall a cover legendary being a tree before.
Idea: as a post-postgame thing, you could go to Team Berserk's region/homeland and explore there. Maybe help reintroduce Dragon types there by bringing some breeding pairs over from the main region & introducing them into the environment, allowing you to affect the encounter tables based on what Dragons you release where. Or even something as simplistic as battling rogue Team Berserk members not willing to embrace Dragon types. It would be fun & significantly increase the length of the game. Just an idea.
So much yes to the Valkyrie Guild!
Really excited for the “sequel” involving the Valkyrie guild.
I'd love to have someone make a fangame on these regions.
+SlothGaming Runestone, maybe?
Pokémon Ice maby?
SlothGaming
Pokémon Frost perhaps?
Given the ice preference of the region.
SlothGaming just do it and dm mr buddy about it. He’d be stoked
Bork the Sloth.
So, how's that project going?
I love the idea of the Valkyrie guild. And it could be an awesome post-game story line to follow where you have to find and battle each Valkyrie.
Some country suggestions for a pokemon region:
-South Africa
-New Zealand
Theses 2 countries have a variable and beautiful geography (mountains,deserts,volcanoes...) and have also a great culture (even if New Zealand culture could be too similar to Hawaii culture) and their sizes are correct
U.K. the natives worshipped the norse before rome invaded
Or maybe a region based of the Democratic republic of congo or my home country Sri Lanka.
Toni Miller There are actually theories that the 8th Region would be Spain.
+Luki0922 That could happen. With ideas like:
An original scorpion-themed Pokémon
A Ghost/Fighting type skeleton-like Pokémon
The Legendries could be based on the Mexican myths, Alebrijes (Spirit Animals, if you will).
What about Germany? It might be controversial due to getting into WWII subjects, but it'd be cool if they made the Gym Leaders based off of Brother Grimm Fairytales!
Regions based off of:
-Italy (including San Marino, the Vatican, Malta and Corsica from France)
-Benelux
-Germany
-Siberia/Alaska
-Midwestern US
-Brazil
-Argentina
-Iberia
-Central America
-West Africa
-Southeast Asia
-China (+ Mongolia maybe)
-India
-The Baltic States
-Canada
-Caribbean
-Oceanic Islands (Melanesia, Polynesia etc.)
-Egypt
-Caucasus Region (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan)
-Turkey and Cyprus
-East Africa
-Indonesia (+ Malaysian Borneo, Papua New Guinea, Brunei and East Timor
-New Zealand
-Some kind of Balkan combination like Slovenia + Croatia or something
-Bulgaria
-Central Europe
-European Russia
-Romania (+ Moldova)
-Madagascar
-Korean Peninsula (little controversial but...)
Maybe I missed it but I believe you forgot to mention Russia and Spain
Don't forget, the Philippines is also a good pick due to the many various flora and fauna there. Not to mention the many folklore and mythical creatures there.
Some countries to become regions
-Italy
-Brazil
-Egypt
But its your decision and you what if country was a pokemon region are amazing.
@Adam Stolar *this was commented 3 years ago*
THIS VIDEO IS *THAT* OLD???
Thinking about the Ratatoskr legendary, it would have been neat if that legend was a variation of the Electric Rodent that pops up in every region, but this time, as a 600-BST legendary. And it's lair would have as many of the electric rodents (Pikachu, Raichu, Alolan Raichu, Pichu, Plusle, Minun, Pachirisu, Emolga, Dedenne, Togedemaru) as the Scandinavian region had.
What about a mythical rodent type based on the Norwgian Lemming. *very careful thinking in progress*
These small rodents are known to be extremely aggressive, and incredibly fearless, not being afraid of standing up against threats that are many times their size.
Sorry, Mr Buddy, of course ;-)
A region based on my homeland of the Netherlands would be pretty cool as well, but it's totally understandable if it isn't doable, we're pretty small after all, though maybe expanding to include Belgium and Luxemburg to create a Benelux region can give you enough material to work with? I don't know.
I actually wished you also tackled how the possible OST and music of each "what if" region would sound like, like the iconic trumpets of Hoenn representing the "adventurism" of the region
The OST of Scandinavian region, I would imagine, have the viking and "mystic" feeling on it with roaring beats. Flutes, drums and horns would be the main instruments. The reason being that your story in my interpretation is deeply rooted on its ancestral times. Also, Wouldnt it be cool to hear a pokemon battle theme with *roaring drums* that sounds like you're about to go to Ragnarok? :^)
I mean, I could think of other possible OST for your "what if" regions, but Im no music expert ^^;
Hey, Maru try listen to an Amon Amarth song. They’re from Sweden and their music is Viking Metal. I recommend Twilight of The Thunder God or The Way Of The Vikings.
Surely put some viking metal , black metal or doom metal just imagine that in a pokemon game damn 😂
Okay Hyped now. Buddy said other videos for Nordic countrys being pokemon regions. So there is a change to get something related to Finland.
Se Larskeih Yeah I definately agree that Finland based would be cool, Maybe it could even include some territories around gulf of Finland like St Petersburg and Estonia ☺
Yeah buddy!
I definitely want to see something based on Väinämöinen, and the Kalevala in general.
Finland is basically the only option unless he's planning to do an archipelago region on Iceland, Færøerne, and Greenland as well so likely yeah
Juho Tapojärvi Me too! Thus guy is amazing with coming up with stories so he could make lot of things from it
Also when i was looking at the places were vikings were during the viking era and then buddy said that the Team Berserk would have had their base In Iceland.
Gamefreak needs to hire you
I was actually curious of whether Fjolnir had 2 Murkrow in his home to represent the two owned by Odin, so it's kinda nice hearing that you considered them as being their own regional variants!
I wrote another kind of long one so here's a summary;
I love all the ideas but understand you had to cut them to keep it concise and not overload the viewers; maybe Odin's ravens could've been their own pokemon, rather than variants? I also ramble a bit about how Yggdrasil could be used as part of Team Evil's plot in a sequel. The whole Loki-rival concept is also just, really good, man, I love it. I am absolutely PUMPED for a nordic sequel; I know that whatever it contains it'll be phenomenal because you made it and you take a lot of pride and care and effort in this kind of stuff.
and here's my rambling:
Anhol sounds like it could be a postgame relic area almost... nope, wait, you just brought up a postgame area!
Am I reading too far into this and rambling? probably)
I have a huge weakness for character development...
(now, I'm a sucker for redemption arcs, so if they hadn't turned out to be helping the player I may have cried, but still a SICK concept nonetheless)
Vaalllkyries!!!! This guild sounds SO awesome (i know i've been saying that a lot, but listen, it's true). Valkyrie v valkyrie duel... again, i know, cut for time, but again, listen, I would've loved it. (and, you know, because I, need more commas, in this sentence, take, this, insert) I can't WAIT to see them
Mr Buddy, you have a really ingenious creative mind; the fact that you were able to come up with so much alone is impressive, but then afterwards knowing what should be kept and cut from the final video takes a certain level of artistic sacrifice; as soon as people come up with cool ideas (which these all are!), they're inclined to tell them all, but being able to pick and choose which elements are most crucial to the story to better inform and entertain the audience (without confusing and overloading them) is a great skill to have. Keep up the good work, I'm always hyped for another video!
After seeing this, I'd be interested in seeing you make one on a South American region. The carnaval would make an amazing event. Brazil is big enough to be it's own region and some of the neighboring countries would make an amazing region too
I agree! As a Brazilian myself, it would be very cool to see my country as a Pokemon Region!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Lets have a GREAT year and watch future videos of Mr Buddy!
I'll probably go watch more of your Pokemon Region videos soon, they're very well thought out
I could listen to you speak about Pokemon for hours, haha! Love it! I am amazed with the dedication you put into your videos. Keep it up!
Wouldn't it be awsome if he one day created so many Pokemon Regions so that he covered every country in the world?
Oh gosh, so much awesome stuff! i can understand why you cut it, but it's great that you made a video about it. Honestly, you're ducking amazing at making up stories and characters and i'm looking forward to see more stuff!
Egypt would be a perfect region to do a video on or the Middle East
On the 19th day of christmas, Mr. Buddy gave to me
Another amazing pokemon story.
I watched the "What if Scandinavia was a Region" Yesterday, i am super exited about this one, and keep up all the amazing content :)
Happy New Year! And interesting cut content plus Team Buddy making a cameo? Lol😁
GloriousGamerDutchess.01. Arw you Dutch. If so i'm too. Hallo ik ben Jason!
Random German Yep. Northern France primarily, but still
Personally, I like to call the unnamed elite 4 Valkyrie member Domare. (Swedish word for Judge.)
AWESOME! I was already hoping for an Iceland episode, so I say GO FOR IT!
That said, cutting this stuff from the last video was the right idea.
The island you talked about could be an event place for the Jörmungandr and Fenrir legendary Pokemon, and that dungeon thing sounds amazing. :D
I love the Valkrie Guild. I can't wait for future videos where they become more involved!!!
You should definitely do an Iceland region episode!
You should've kept Sigurd's backstory in the video because i wanted to know his backstory and why he was able to see that Dragon-type pokemon aren't as bad as he believed after his final battler with the player.
the character art is DIVINE!
Idea: Do a "What if Iceland was a Pokemon Region?" and make the main character a member of Team Berserk that is old enough to be an official member. The starters can be homages to the Team Berserk normal Pokemon and travel through the region defeating the elders which would be the gym leaders.
I like your Cut Content sequels
*Areas and landmarks:*
*Additional regional Pokémon variants:*
*New common and rare Pokémon ideas:*
1. Gender-specific designs would be necessary too, since only the males have antlers
The Valkyrie Guild could be part of the post game.
I still think it should be more emotional. Here are some twists:
After the first fight against Sigurd, he shoots a blackened icicle at the Trainer, but the starter dives in front of it, taking the shot for its master.
And The Lure of the specific thing about Canada could be about the First Nations and some of the myths of specific legendaries specific to Native legends
widely divorced lmao
Some interesting German proverbs to turn into Pokemon could be ‘Ich glaub, mein Schwein pfeift‘ (a whistling pig) ‘Die Kuh vom Eis holen’ (an ice cow) and possibly ‘Des Teufels liebstes Möbelstück ist die lange Bank’ (a possible household Devil?)
You could do something interesting with the national animal - The Eagle.
@Mr Buddy
Happy new year and lets hope we have more regions and what if this year
Valkyrie guild sounds hella great!
AN ENTIRELY SEPERATE UNRELATED SNAKE to jormungandr. of which he and fenris are brothers (you could have a third based on Hel)
the Valkyrie idea was so cool I hope you carry on with it
The Murkrow and Dala horse ideas were great.
I really missed Hugin and Munin during your Scandinavia Video! Now I know you had thought of them... lol
Astrid Nipflake Xerneas isn't Yggdrasil, it's the stag at the trunk of Yggdrasil.
Simon Mize but it does take The form of The world tree in its resting form dosent it?
Mr Buddy this is true I did some research after seeing your Scandinavia video and being inspired
Ireland actually has some Viking touches to its history. This includes the city of Dublin, Ireland's capital. Dublin actually means "dark pool" and was so named because it had a massive deep pool near where the city was erected, which was filled up during the city's expansion over the ages.
I JUST REALIZED THAT IT LOOKS LIKE SIGURD IS WEARING HAKAMO-O/KOMMO-O SCALES!
Wielding an Axe with Haxorus blades on it no less
I really like the idea of Loki he is a really good character idea and story
i think for a sequel when sigurd goes back to the iceland based region there is an internal conflict in team berserk. perhaps the side that dislikes dragon pokemon loses and is banished from the region. that side (which could be led by a valkyrie) could invade a scotland themed region. perhaps they are trying to reawaken a powerful legendary pokemon to use to reclaim the iceland region. the elite four valkyrie from this region could confront the other valkyrie while you face the legendary pokemon. and when everything is all over and done with the leader of the valkyrie could come and apologise for the trouble and maybe the iceland story and the finland story could have more to do with the valkyrie.
We got Foomber and that is all that matters because he is my precious fire snek child.
MercuryDjinn3 yes
They could then use pokemon that are considered to be each others' opposite gender counterpart, like (though not all, to leave their parties room for the region's new pokemon) Nidoking/Nidoqueen, Braviary/Mandibuzz, Miltank/Tauros, Gallade/Gardevoir, Froslass/Glalie, and maybe Mothim/Wormadam, Illumise/Volbeat, Beedrill/Vespiquen (though only one pair of those last ones, or else they might as well have a bug type gym...)
Anyway, those were just two of the ideas I had for the possibility of the player character's parents, sorry it's a long comment
i prefer jormungadr and fenrir legendaries over the ones you choose in the scandinavian region. they seem more exiting to fight against and would make fit in really well, but i can see your reasoning. btw great video as always!
I am from Scandinavia and want this in a game!
Awesome! Great content Mr Buddy! Keep it up!
That Loki rival trainer idea could still be used in your Nordic/Berserk follow-up region. I think it'd fit right in.
The Ancient Dungeon area could be where you battle Kyreum.
Ya know I wouldn't mind if you left all that stuff in. I'd still very much enjoy watching 1 1/2 hour video with more content :)
Possible ideas for new regions
China (Likely Hong Kong or anywhere near it)
Mexico
Southern United States (Well Texas can be its own region in itself)
Midwestern United states (probably The great lakes area)
New Zeland
Indonesia
Russia
South Korea
Egypt
South Africa+Madagascar
Argentina
UK
Ireland
Phillipines
Brazil
I think there are still a few areas of japan that could make their own region too.
Valkyrie Guild should be end game stuff, using the dungeon as something to build it up, having the island as their base.
What if Brazil was a pokemon region!!
PLEASE!!!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Mr. Buddy! 😁
Was waiting for this. 😌
Can't wait for the next region video 😃
Having a legendary deep beneath the Pokémon League is a fantastic idea that I'd love to see in a game.
could you do one on either;
Italy: with a colluseum as the elite four or some sort of battle area.
India: you could use many if the gods or other creatures as legendary pokemon
A coloseum could fit for a fighting type gym.
Paul Grote Beverborg that's a pretty sweet idea actually, with a gladiator style gym leader maybe
That was exactly my idea. Some other ideas for an Italy based region i have are:
Team Empire, a Roman Empire based evil team that tries to capture either a Pokemon representing war to use it's powers to create a war and take over the world in the chaos, or a Pokemon representing peace to drain it's powers to do exactly the same thing.
12:18
Xerneas is also based on Yggdrasil, so...
Given the rumors about the next game being in Spain or Italy, this would be a great time to make region concepts based on those countries.
