Shakti upasana was in Bengal from vedic time. Ramakrishna Dev comes in a long line of sadhaks, but not the first.
Bengal used to worship Sakta devis like Chamunda, Chandi from Pal, Sen era. Kali upasna was started later but was limited to tantra upasaks. It got popularized in every household during the time of sadhak Krishnananda Agambagish and Raja KrishnaChandra.
Maa has a loving look and nothing is beautiful than her. Why other Indians are not able to realise it. They also misunderstands her but how elegance and protective she for us. Having Maa we want nothing ☺️She is our loveliest daughter ❤️
It's not bhram. The iconography of Kali in North India is the proof how they see her. Not as mother, just as destroyer.
They are used to worship her as Mahadev's wife, Ganesha's mother. But not as she really is, in her truest form.

Sati became angry not because Lord Shiva said no for joining her father's yagya but because, when she reached to the yagya and found no place for herself and her husband, she asked her father the reason behind it, but instead her father started saying inappropriate words for Shiva and hearing such words for her husband, she could not hold it in and jumped into the fire. When Lord Shiva came to know about this he got very angry and sent his two ganas, Virabhadra and Devi Bhadrakali, and these two powerful ganas of Shiva destroyed everything.❤

One correction is that Chinnamasta isn't the 3rd Mahavidya from Das Mahavidya she is the 6th Mahavidya and Shodashi is the 3rd Mahavidya and Kali doesn't stand on a corpse she stands on Lord Shiva
