I used to be terrified of werewolves when I was younger. Some transformation sequences still freak me out (see An American Werewolf in London), but I've grown fond of them overtime. Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf, The Wolf Among Us and Sonic Unleashed just to name a few transformation related media I like.
I'm a BIG Werewolf fan so you can tell I was excited for this week's countdown. It granted my wish, but also disappointed me. I thought Sonic would certainly make the cut, but giving him a BIG mention makes me happy.

Even if you never see this I just want to say something. A year ago I was in intensive care. I was naturally in not the best of moods or emotional state. Yet on of my better days I was able to scroll through TH-cam. I saw this and clicked on it and found myself smiling and feeling better. For making my stay there more bearable and making me smile when all I wanted to do was cry, I just want to say, thank you.
I was a werewolf for Halloween once, and I had to take my mask off to show a girl I scared by accident, I was human. Oh good old times

5: Well, what better way to suck into a game with the same difficulty level as Dark Souls... Than with a destructive boss to deal with? I'm seriously interested in Dark Souls AND Bloodborne... But I can't play due to my computer being too slow.
4: Keaton is kinda cool... Eventually, once I get back into Conquest, I might use him.
3: My bro has decent experience with Darkest Dungeon. And yeah... the Abomination has its uses. And once you use him well... Confidence surges as the enemy crumbles, though remember the Number 1 rule of dealing with the Eldritch: YOU CAN'T WIN AGAINST THEM.
2: A Kung-fu Werewolf?? After seeing a Rockstar Zombie, a Mummy, Hsien-Ko, a vampire voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama, Hsien-ko, Morrigan, An utterly cute yet Foul-mouthed gun-toting Red Riding Hood, Hsien-ko... WHEN WILL THERE BE A NEW DARKSTALKERS GAME?!
1: BENNY THE HYPE DOG! HE WHO CONQUERED SHADOW JAGO IN KYLE!!
I don't think number 4 should be on the list... after all so many things were changed in that game that I'm uncertain If that character is the same as in the original wersion.(I'm realy not interested in an American fan fic character -_-)

Keaton turns into something similar to a wolf, he's a Wolfskin, etc... A different name, but still a werewolf, pretty much.

That's not what I'm talking about.
I ment the rewrite that happened with the game.during the "localization". So many lines were cut out or rewritten. Characters get a compleate personality alteration and sexual interest change. Not to mention the cut contents.
Honestly I wouldn't be able to count a character from a game like that in any kind of list.
(It's a sham that this is what happened with the game that I was looking forward to the most in this year. T_T)

In terms of favorite werewolves, mine is Sveta from Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. Not only is she a fairly interesting character with the biggest ties to the main plot of any character of the entire game, not only is she actually pretty potent healer, of all things...but her beastform is absolutely GAMEBREAKINGLY good.
Yes I loved Sveta she was a fun character and pretty decent to amazing to have in the party.

I love werewolves and the characters in this countdown all sound awesome, most people wouldn't think to make a werewolf a master at martial arts but it goes really well with there high physical strength and claws. There could even be a whole fighting style revolving around the use of their claws and fangs in battle.

While looking for possibilities yesterday what entries Oscar would use in this list, I found Bloody Roar series from Internet and since every character turns into half-animals, instantly caught my attention.
I honestly thought he would make the list. But since Bloody Roar is just a tad bit "obscure" it was more of wishful thinking

I can confirm that the abomination is certainly a werewolf. This is from the trivia on his wiki page "The Abomination hero class was designed by Josh Lauer, a Lord-Tier Kickstarter backer. Josh Lauer is a fan of werewolves, and that is where the idea of the abomination came from." Also in an interview with Lauer he talked about how a standard werewolf probably wouldn't fit the Darkest Dungeon's theme, which is why he's more devilish than wolf.

I quite enjoy Sonic the Werehog myself, but he's really no different from his regular Hedgehog form, except in the comics I'm told.

The first time seeing it, I legitimately felt bad for the person receiving it.
Seriously, there's kill, then overkill, then a few levels of beating smaller shreds of the opponent into mush, than beating the bloodstains because there is just nothing left to kill.

Keaton definitely shined for me during my first run through the Kitsune Hamlet, where he went from secondary tank to a full on carry. The rest of my team was having a hard time, meanwhile Keaton was a freaking Toyota, tanking everything the Kitsune threw at him and healing it back with Better Odds. He ended up being the last unit standing when chapter was finished.
P.S. I play on Casual mode because screw realism, I just want to have fun.
It's hard for me to decide whether vampires or werewolves are my favorite monsters. Vampires can still remain human while able to transform freely into many things, but I like how werewolves embody our primal nature and instinct. Plus, I love wolves.

I think Warwick's story is ALOT better and (despite what riot tells us he is NOT a werewolf) fits the tragic werewolf theme. And Arcane helped it ALOT too

I would've gone for Sinding as Skyrim's werewolf personally. He's a central figure in one of my favorite quests, he works really well as a tragic character, and unlike Aela, you actually get to see him kick some ass as a werewolf.
I dunno man. Just, that image of him standing on a cliff in wolf form silhouetted against a blood-red sky with both of the moons out.....................I'm never going to forget that. Easily one of my favorite Skyrim memories.

Personal favorite Werewolves not mention here are:
Fenrich (Disgaea 4): The Loyal Servant of Valvatorez the Vampire, Fenrich is equal parts awesome and hilarious. On the battlefield he is a beast, hitting stupidly hard while also able to move quickly and take a lot of punishment. In the cutscenes... well this game's writing is hilarious and while at first glance Fenrich seems to be the straight man to Valvatorez's nonsense, he is just a bizarre most of the time especially due to his slavish devotion to his master. He is also much more quick tempered and bloodthirsty than his master, never shying from a fight and is especially mad when you insult Valvatorez. There is more to his character, but spoilers so I will just say that more people need to play this game.
Ken (Werewolf the Last Warrior): You just need to see this game. You play as a werewolf with blades for arms. NES insanity at its finest folks.

+ChrisX in some sailor storys mermaids would use their beauty to seduce men, which then they would drag them down to the sea killing them. Some movies and books show mermaids as cute and inocent, but mermaids are like vampires a bit, not dead but feeding off of other lifeforms and having powers.

Honorable mention: You left out my personal favorite....
The DRUID from Diablo 2. He's gonna be in Diablo three but thats not out yet. Now some might argue that he hardly counts as a true werewolf, since his werewolf shapeshifting is just one of many powers. But the great thing about that game is that there are multiple ways to build and play with one character class. And one of the Druid builds I like is just putting all skill points into his werewolf form and wolf pets. When playing this build, in my headcanon he's not a druid, just a plain old lycan (who also leads a pack of wolves). I'm hoping I will have the freedom to play pure werewolf in diablo 4.

Although I knew they would not make the list for a lack of personnality (and also the fact that their origin is a bit obscure), might I place an honorable mention for the were-creatures in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines ? You encounter 2 of these : a wereshark that is an optional quest boss, that was pretty much impervious to everything but your most powerful weapons and powers, and then you had... THE Werewolf.
You were told to track an ally that had supposedly gone rogue, and when you find him outside the city and near a forest... The forest starts burning, and the werewolf gets out. And the game is telling you in a simple manner that you should not try to confront him : he just destroys your ally to dust in ONE claw attack. And you KNOW you're next. You have to escape this beast for 5 minutes before your only way of leaving the place arrives, and it's the most stress you'll feel in the entire game, because for these 5 minutes, you have to escape him and not get touched once, or you'll get back to the beginning of the fight because you were reduced to dust...
i used to think Killer Instinct was just a MK rip off. but im willing to accept my mistakes. Breo you have opened my eyes to something awesome!

Number 4's kid is similar to Cerise Hoodia who I learned of from my niece.
Fun fact: The Bonus Song is also teased at the End of "Herald of Gargos", so I actually Recognized it from there.....if you listened to the whole 8 minutes of "Herald of Gargos" which is also OMEN's Theme.....also, 'Throw him a bone'? last week is Skeletons...where NO DOUBT Spinal is gonna be #1......

And that's really cool how you got to do your probable favorite countdown here! I can tell you had about as much fun working on this as a cub when it hunts down its first prey! If Ame from Wolf Children is anything to go by, it must've been exhilarating! You and I have something in common. Wolves are my favorite animals too!
One fun fact: I actually got to babysit three cubs on my first day of volunteer work back in High School when I went to a Wolf Sanctuary! It was one of the best days of my time there. I felt like I was among my brethren! Though I use a Vampiric persona, I have always had a great fondness of Lycanthropy as well!

Candidates for that list I can think of: Sans from Undertale, Spinal from Killer Instinct, Abyss from Soul Calibur 3, Death from Castlevania (despite his human form in Curse of Darkness), and Dry Bones from Mario (though I doubt it would make the cut).

Y'know, I'm happy to see Bloodborne's Father Gascoigne on this list (because I'd totally forgotten about him when I was thinking about werewolves in games), but like...."Yharnam" is only two syllables. Gherman pronounces it "Yar-num" in the game's opening.
Keaton, huh....I *want* to use him, but he's so frail and not nearly strong enough.
Another fantastic video, I gotta say my favorite werewolf in gaming has to be Jon Talbain from Darkstalkers, so I'm glad to see him in the list. I haven't played the game myself, but the lore I've stumbled across is pretty awesome. At any rate, keep up the good work man!
Bloody Roar had a werewolf fighter. Though this is a game that has fighters transform into a bunny, a bat, and even a tiger.
Cornell also suffers since the only other game he appeared in is one of if not the most hated game in the series.
