- In this video we take at look at what got me into the hobby back in 1977 with my first train set. This was an amazing train set that got the imagination running of many children in the 70's.
Great Post - Thanks for showing us, looks brilliant! Would have been the best Christmas ever for any 6/7 yr old back in the day 👍🏻
Checkout my other video on the wild west set.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

What a brilliant story and search to find it. It is such an emotional connection! I seriously started searching for my original set from 1969. No luck.
Hi Anthony 👍it’s been great looking for all the bits and the amount of satisfaction you get when you find that odd part you’re after in someone’s box of bits at a show. Persevere my friend and you will find it one day.
These sets are so cool that airfix and Bachmann made together in the 70s. I wish they would reissue them. I always did love train sets like these where there was more fun to do with the train set then just run the train around and I think that why I love tyco train sets so much when I was a kid in the late 80s/ early 90s
Yes they was awesome me and my brother played for hours and hours and totally agree that’s what missing in this day and age.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

Great video. 😃👍
Thank you 👍
Merry Christmas 🎅🏻 and a happy New Year
Best regards

@@MarchWestJunctionTMD merry Christmas my friend. 🎁🎄
I had this set. I used the Airfix British paratroopers as the "goodies" who would storm Dr X's lair and fight the black plastic commandos. Sometimes they'd stop the missile launching, Sometimes they didn't.
I did the same it was with the commando set with the two man canoes

Never come across that set before! Amazing that you kept it in such good condition.
To be honest I’ve spent years replacing items as me and my brother smashed it to bits over the years.
It’s a bit like Triggers broom 😂🤣😂
@@MarchWestJunctionTMD lol, fair enough! But your Halo has now slipped!
@@TimberSurf I’m sure I had horns 😂🤣😂
Cool 😎
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

Wow, that's a lovely collection you have there Andy. I don't remember seeing that set before !
Hi Andrew 👍yes it’s a great set and the Wild West one is awesome so I’m going to do a video on that In the future
@@MarchWestJunctionTMD I look forward to seeing it.
@@andrewrice6596 it will probably be in a couple of weeks I will probably do
A video on the layout in between.
That is amazing train set and I say the artwork looks really nice.
I can't remember what my first train set was as I think it might have been just a loco
Thanks Josh for taking the time to watch and comment. Keep safe and well my friend

The Doctor 'X' set was the one that I wanted; in the end I got a Hornby Britannia 'Iron Duke' with 3 'blood and custard' MK1s and the ubiquitous oval of track. Funnily enough I still have the 'Iron Duke' and the Mk1s but what I really wanted was the Doctor X set.
Hi Shaun. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

Thanks for sharing this is great set. My older brother passed his onto me back in the 70's. This got me into model railways. The battery controller was useless. It wasn't until i got my first Hornby set that I ran it. I could never get the Class 31 to run properly though, but that didn't matter as I played with the tunnel mostly. Wish I still had it now. I may try and recreate the train, but the tunnel and accessory pack is impossible to get hold of. Well done in getting this one together. How about a video of it running please?
Hi Steve and thank you for the comment. It’s great to hear that it’s rekindled some nice memories.

I had something similiar as a child, but think it was hornby, had loads of extras with it, signals, telegraph poles, crossing, station, problem was it didnt work 🙈😆👍, so dad took it back and got me the Timpo wild west set instead 💪👏
Hi Andrew, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

@@buildbaserallyescort760 sorry is it the lorry and trailer you need or the breakdown truck?
@@MarchWestJunctionTMD just the pickup. I was looking for the Wild West set and found the DR X set
@@buildbaserallyescort760
