As someone who is (probably) the newest and most casual player in my local playgroup, this is without a doubt the most perfect product I've seen for entry. I'll add that this does scare me a bit, that there is a good likelihood of not being able to acquire the deck because some players will feel the need to rush and get the new card that has potential of being strong.
The only part that scares me is with Kayo already being a popular hero that the LGS meta is going to be like 70-80% Kayo and mirror matches are my least favorite thing about TCGs. I would've loved to see at *least* 2 Armoury Decks to choose from to keep the field varied, ideally 3. Hopefully the next armory deck is around the corner and won't be an already very popular meta hero.
I feel this is the only problem of this product, if the big whales want the exclusive cards and the new players cannot buy this product it's useless I hope the community to let this product to new players
The new Brute equipment is such an elegant way to design an entry level armory deck to feel competitive without reprinting any existing legendary equipment or making it feel horrible compared to tunic. I really don't understand people complaining about this. It's a great product and I am very excited to see what the rest of the decks are. I don't think the equipment will be printed in any sets, but I do expect we see a red yellow and blue version of the run roughshod at some point in the future just like they did with pack call.
The Sash is absolutely what got Berserk banned. With the current card pool it lets you go Wild Ride/Pulping twice and finish with a Swing Big off of the same blue. I don’t think it’s broken, but there’s some crazy math behind it
A class that hasn't been meta since release gets powerful cards and people start complaining. A class that's always had broken cards doesn't get broken cards, and people start complaining... you just can't make people happy...
I think that the "problem" (its not even really a problem to be totally honest, more of a constructive criticism) is exactly that Kayo is already good. I would love to see an armory deck for a hero that hasn't gotten support recently as a way to get them from the 5-15th best deck and move more towards 2-10th best deck discussion. I think Boltyn, Rhinar (my least favorite hero but he could still use support) or Riptide would be an excellent example.
This is the truth. The product could be a perfect addition to the expansion slot just like an expansion pack for certain heroes that just has added functionality (introduce beginners and give other players a chance to try something new at no deckbuilding cost). Actually I think this might be a perfect product but yes Kayo is absolutely not the hero needing it. There's other heroes that are reasonably easy to play that need support. Also really let down by the community, so many narrow minded garbage takes around these days. And that after the best PT we had, the issue is obviously stupid card gamers and not the FAB product design or development team.
Savage Sash is the strict upgrade to Heartened Cross Strap. Block for two, then get likely two minimum resource value off of it. I'm sure better brute players than I would find that third resource value somewhere. It will absolutely unlock a combo style brute in Blitz where that two block and instant two resources become more valuable.
The issue isn't that this is a good card. They said this set would be limited. They put a card in it making it a must bye. This is supposed to be for new players and therefore needs to be available. That all combined is problematic. If they put the chest in mst expansion it's fine, otherwise we have a glistening issue again but with a far more limited quantity set.
That depends on what they mean by limited. If they mean that they'll only make a singular print run of these, then you're 100% correct. I do not believe for a moment that they intend to do that. These will be printed to demand and desire until the point where they feel the market is satiated. But I believe they mean limited to be controlled and responsible so as to not flood the LGS shelves with unmovable product.

New cards are looking great and it has me excited to see the stuff in the other armory decks. I hope they are also available to pull from packs in an expansion slot or future set so there's another avenue to attain the cards. And yes, elephant in the room here, it's not the Randy Savage Sash we were all hoping to snap into, but it's close enough.
I'm actually totally fine with cards being specific to a product, as long as they give you a full playset. TCC product was perfect bc any unique things you got everything you needed (full armor sets, full blitz/upf playsets.) Plus, this comes in a case of 12 boxes, which honestly for a lot of LGS's is a lot let's be honest. LSS want's the LGS to be able to sell them so having something unique like that makes a lot of sense to me. I'm honestly super excited for this product as well bc I will probably start collecting these decks to just have something to pull off the shelf and play with friends.

I don't think LSS ever said this is meant to be competitive at armories, just that it enables quicker access to CC armories. Yea, I wish folks would wait to complain until there's actually an issue to complain about. Lots of complaints are based on hypothetical scenarios about product scarcity which haven't happened yet.
The comparison isn't with Tunic, but with HCS which already makes the list next to Tunic and has a +2 block version now. I sincerely hope it's also an expansion slot in Mistveil!
The Sash may be better in Kayo and maybe a Cheetah club type rhinar build? Its a good card for Kayo, cant wait to see what would come in a Rhinar deck down the line! Also, cool to release these decks for classes that may not be represented in the main set at the time.
I'm actually really hype for the Armory Decks now, there's simply a good promise of Solid Cards in a product that I initially had 0 intrest in. I have a Kayo deck all ready to go, but this chestpiece and the new blue make me want to buy the product *just* for this. I don't feel like it's a need either because new players will have access to it, and Kayo in the new format *should not* be running that much more rickshaw with this card and no Berserk than he already is attempting to. He's in the same spot Dromai was a few months back, most repped in the room but can't finish the fight.
Everyone getting up in arms about the cards getting printed in a supplemental product are right. If they're upset the cards are being printed because they think they're too powerful that's silly. I am frustrated about this being Dori V Rhinar 2.0 with unique NEEDED cards for the class in it.

I am also excited for all of the original cards so long as they come in full playsets. New cards are just fine so long as I don't need to buy multiple of the same product, but as you said I'm sure LSS is well aware of that.
Card game players get riled up on social media because we've been horrifically abused in the past. Think back to YGO, Magic, Artifact, Hearthstone, and all of the recent pump and dump card games. LSS has historically treated us wonderfully, but our scars are still healing. It'll take time for us to be able to trust again.
Sometimes I hate it when LGS' increase their prices to scalper lvl. I hope new players get's to use this. But pretty sure this will sky rocket in price, just because it is a collectible

Maybe one for teklovossen, maxx, maybe even a vis one? its a cool way to give actually impactful single hero support between sets, and we really barely know anything about it or mistveil to make any solid complaints about the product or its impact on the meta that we think we know exists; considering dromai will LL before this is released which unleashes a bunch of decks with 10% winrate into her. Also side note that maybe kayo needs the help after the eminent riptide buff.
Savage Sash will be a good add to the players that can't afford Tunic. I hope they do a good majestic gloves too, Bonebreaker is too expensive and what other opens we have? Goliath Gloves that don't block. Brute has good helmets in the specs for Rhinar and Kayo and a good boots in the Beaten. Every acessible card will be nice for the game, lets more ppl join the game without spending hundreds in a deck. They need to create more cheap good cards to reduce the gap in between a budget player and a rich player. The more accessible and cheaper the game is, the more people can play and have fun and both LSS and LGS and the game community benefit. After all, leisure is everyone's right and the cheaper it is, the more people can enjoy it.
I think the limited print will strangely work against Scalpers. I just think the quantities available to Scalpers are just so small and the profit margins so minimal that most Scalpers would probably not bother. I might be wrong but I think we will keep getting these printed as long as there is demand, but always in limited amounts and that will in my opinion dissuade Scalpers who usually only bother with stuff they can buy in fairly massive bulk per purchase since they have to calculate the cost of aquiring stuff for each "shopping trip" Imagine being a reseller of comics but you could only buy 10 comics at each place and had to drive around or pay shipping for every 10 comics instead of getting 1000 comics in one order.
Wise words! I am excited for this product as a new deck to try and it is also a great product for new players, especially those who come from other TCGs and want to be competitive right away for a low-cost entry fee. I heard so many newer players, after a armory event, saying the player level is too high and they have to build and commit to a deck, for them to be competitive enough to win some games.
I think this is going to be a great product. My concern was that the deck wouldn't be powerful enough. I want new powerful cards more than powerful reprints.
Great take. I play ninja's, I buy pretty much every card that looks remotely playable for ninja when they're released. I have limited interest in Wizard and Illusionist, and sometimes buy into them, but I don't have a need for brute cards that I don't even have a pool to support playing.
Seem like good cards for brute players. They don't appear broken to me to get all bent out of shape about, but idk I'm not a brute player so maybe I'm missing something? Honestly Nuu is the one that scares me the most right now.
I got down this rabbit hole from steam currently having a "Deck builders fest". I've enjoyed card games like hearthstone and gwent but there's nothing cool out there. Started YTing card games 2024 that are good. Seen some cool one that lets u play digitally then print out your cards if u have them digitally etc. Looked cool, played a demo and the combat was boring. Seen Flesh and blood. Looked interesting. Got 2 blitz decks to play with my gf. Probably playing some cards wrong but I fucking love this game. The armour , weapons etc added to it is so cool. This Kayo deck will be amazing for me to learn the classic mode instead of just blitz.
I'm fine with powerful cards being printed in new precons... but it has to come as a playset. Having to go all over the place to get extra copies of a new staple from a precon you already purchased is wrong (yes, one-off glistening steelblade... why no two copies at least??).
Doesn't Kayo run a bunch of 5 attack cards? That would make sash much better for Rhinar, which is great design. Not that this is bad for Kayo, but it's not going to make him tons better I think. That's my new player perspective at least.
Most of us upset about this have seen this type of thing burn us from other games and this game, it's a legit thing to be cautious about. So complaining might make sure lss is focused on not allowing exclusives to turn into one and done chases.
This isn’t a free hobby, if you can’t afford a card don’t play it. Glistening is less than $20, for a majestic it’s a splash in the pan it’s a non issue for a hero that has not be relevant forever. This product has an ALTERNATIVE to Tunic that literally everyone has been begging for for an option for new players. People should be excited that a retail deck is not only going to be playable, but have a decent value for a player.
Most majestics aren't actually above 20 dollars. People have to make choices with their money, also when deciding what to play in flesh and blood. That limitation should be taken seriously. Saying "FaB isn't a free game" isn't a relevant argument.

Cross Strap is still relevant in the Kano match-up, but it does make it less appealing overall.
My local armories have a current nats champ, former national champion, and a top 5 worlds finisher.... 😢

Good rant. I've been screaming for a glistening reprint since its release. I have mine and play Dori but it shouldn't be a gatekeeper type of card.

Savage slash on a bloodrush turn going to be nasty
Calling Top 8 is more indicative of the meta rather than the PT top 8 with 4 Kayos due to Calling not being a split format.

Rhinar has been out for 4 years and Kayo is about to pass him in LL points...
Kayo is leaps and bounds more versatile and consistent so it makes sense. Its an easier deck overall than Rhinar is.

Most majestics aren't actually above 20 dollars. People have to make choices with their money, also when deciding what to play in flesh and blood. That limitation should be taken seriously. Saying "FaB isn't a free game" isn't a relevant argument.

@@PopoTCG it’s literally not, it requires pieces to play the game, those pieces aren’t free. If the argument is Talishar, that’s not engaging in the hobby, it’s engaging in the fandom.
@@eliaullerichs5511 thankfully just saying it’s not a free hobby wasn’t my only argument, but I’m glad we can find common ground on the rest of it. People should be excited that more classes are getting tunic alternatives at an extremely reasonable price. This will never be a barrier to entry for players and that’s a good thing.

I don't play other TCG's so maybe this is just a TCG culture thing, but I find the outrage culture in FaB to be very annoying and toxic. People just need to relax.
