    Awesome video and test of Sr1 lite! I have both the lite clip point and tanto blade version and also the clip point S35VN G10 version. They are all great knives. Thank you for doing these testings, this is not abuse, it shows that this knife will not fail when a person is placed in a survival situation and this is the only knife he or she has. Thanks for sharing brother!

    @Robert Kattner & Greg Toth: This man just took a pristine $70 knife and was willing to beat the snot out of it, in order FOR YOU to make an informed buying decision. So, instead of complaining that the test was "stupid" or "boring", why dont you appreaciate the fact that he took the bullet for you, say thank you, and give him a like? Spoiled, ungrateful brats!

      Thank you for your support🤝. Dont bother about these comments my friend. Its just normal in the internet and expected. So such comments dont bother me at all. I did this test for the knife community but also for my personal pleasure since I m a fan of such tests and like to see the limits of knives. If one or even a couple of people get some entertainment and information the goal of this video is fully achieved👍

    • @hardusehobby
      @hardusehobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah a test of the limits. Every knife can cut cardboard and apples or you just can tear cardboard or paper by hand and eat the apple without cutting it. Light wood chopping should be no problem for a well made folding knife. I do that almost every day with the Adv Pitboss and I did chop often with the Cold Steel Espada large. Batoning and stabbing is not a thing that I normally do but I expect my folding knives to be able to baton and to stab a decent amount of times without breaking or failing. I basically like to know the limits of the knife I carry every day so I dont have a bad surprise one day👍

      @@hardusehobby that’s why I carry fixed blades and folders. Each have their limits. Good to see the SR lite hold up. I have one obviously

      @@hardusehobby after that torture.. did you have any blade play in the SR? Every now and then (depending on speed of opening) it varies. I’ll either get a solid lock up or sometimes (very low percentage) I’ll notice vertical blade play (tiny). Doesn’t bother me, but was curious if others have this as well. I have the AD-15 and it’s a solid lock up every time. Yes, two different knives and locks but tri-ad’s in the ost I’ve owned never had that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      @@a661992 Fixed blades are obviously preferable for hard use and if I was living in a country were it is common to wear a fixed blade I would edc fixed blades as well. But here people would maybe be scared if they see a knife at the belt.
      My Sr1 has also minor blade play. It started after doing abusive things but it doesnt seem to get worse. Its there every time I open it but it bothers me only a little bit. I heard of other people having a bit blade play over time with different cold steel knives even without doing abusive things. Maybe the tolerances are not that good on average since these knives are not expensive and because they are made in Taiwan. Could maybe also be a quality control issue so that one knife is randomly better or worse than an other one of the same model. Who knows

    • @a661992
      @a661992 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hardusehobby ok I’m not the only one lol. Yeah it doesn’t bother me at all and like you said it can happen being a cheaper knife. As far as fixed.. I’m not sure if the laws where you live but there’s makers out there who make 3-4 inch blades for iwb or pocket carry fixed blades. Yucabladeworks is one I love.
      The up and down blade is a anal thing lol.. but I did give it a few spine wacks and it’s not going anywhere.. I guess it’s expected with a cheaper blade.. again, my AD-15 (yep different lock) is like a tank.

    A proof that a perfect indestructible knife is still worthless if it carries the world's shittiest cold steel pocket clip. Thanks for a great test and review though :)

    • @hardusehobby
      @hardusehobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most of the time I do carry my pocket knives 100% in the pocket next to a pack of paper handkerchiefs without using the pocket clip so its not the most important feature for myself. Generally I like deep carry clips and when the pocket clip supports the grip like on the Spyderco Harpy for example🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @LookieChannel
      @LookieChannel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hardusehobby I agree. I love CS, but hate it at the same time, cause is just tears and rips each of my new jeans :) Spyderco, Kershaw, Kizer, Steel Will whatever they do the clips right, grippy enough yet easy on your pockets. Harpy is a lovely piece for sure :) Cheers and best wishes for 2022!

    No one does that to a knife in real life . Sort of stupid.

    • @hardusehobby
      @hardusehobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Many things could be called stupid but at the end of the day only someone that is omniscient could really judge. Such classification is basically nothing more than an opinion that shows certain values, political believes or preferences. My preference is to have a very strong folding knife because I do use my folding knives without any restriction like outdoor fixed knives. So I dont want a knife that is weak. Other people might prefer a weak knife that is light weight or has some type of steel that is on paper a bit longer sharp in some soft use cutting szenario.
