RIP to King Edward... pretty much my reason for being a musician. Ed has been a huge inspiration to me. May his music and guitar work live on and inspire countless others!
When Michael Jackson's song "Beat It" was released it was pretty much my first exposure to Eddie Van Halen, until Van Halen's 1984 album came out, then I was an Eddie addict. Even though Ed's "Beat It" solo was hugely iconic and a big boost for the band, I personally had never learned his guitar solo to he tune until pretty recently, and decided to try it without my Washburn's vibrato bar being currently usable... So that was a fun and somewhat challenging adaptation.
The rhythm backing track I'm playing over was put together by me as well.

Fun fact: this solo was done in two takes but Quincy Jones decided to keep the first one. After Eddie had actually arranged the composition structure he thought Michael would have disagreed. Truth be told Michael liked the way he arranged it. And that's the version we all know today. Great shreddage my dude!

Some people are just shy. Just because they arent showing it doesnt mean theyre some robot on the inside or that it takes any less talent. Then there are people over acting to something simple and not even very melodic. My point is a couple of faces and people automatically assume the persons putting there heart and soul in to it. My guess from not only his reactions but the way he's playing(especially the bends and extra harmonics) is yes this guy looks like he's feeling it. Check out junna on TH-cam if you love seeing people really feeling it when they play.
I have yet to see any mechanical robot-like playing on TH-cam, please provide an example if you can.
@@turolretar I think he just means having a serious face while playing. My point is you can tell if someone is feeling it from just listening to them play. No need to make fun of people that are probably shy or feel awkward in front of an audience/camera.

@@way2sh0rt07grad -- he could have gone on tour with Michael and replaced Orianthi or any of the other Guitar Axe slayers on tour like Jennifer Batten or Steve Stevens. You should have done it and I would have been your Guitar Tech sound system engineer looking after the equipment and full cabinet rows of Special FX processors, gadgets, amps, Guitars and cables to the sound system.

Just to put my point across so it's more understandable, generally when we say even someone, say 'even xyz can do sth but you cant' - it's understood that the most useless person at a task can do it, but you can't, so you completely suck.
With this in mind, OP's statement translates to - 'even (a musically dumb, musically reatarded guy like) MJ knew Eddie was the man.'
But since MJ was musical genius, I asked him why he has used EVEN MJ knew. Of course he would know, lol 🤣!
