Thank you Dennis :D keep that 218 Conid well because I think they will become next to impossible to find those old pre pandemic times - they are sooooo sweet - love mine
Glad you liked it! Since its the demonstrator season and we had just launched the Nuda :D I had to go through with the review for my Conid :D I hope I did justice to this awesome pen
Wow....... We all have been eyeing the Conid Bulkfiller since long. The nib is super wet. It is literally pouring ink. Loving the double reservoir system filling system. I have the same in my Visconti Ocean Breeze.
It's so good! I just seen that I got a like from the Conid IG profile :D hopefully we will have them back available by the end of this year or early next year
Also a fan of Conid; proud owner of the kingsize cigar bulkfiller. Basically the same as yours, but with a round top. Had it made with an MCI. Really love it! Made with such care and technical craftsmanship. Big fan! So thanks for this rather unexpected review, since Conid unfortunately stopped producing a few years ago. Btw. I don’t have the brownish residue you’re experiencing. The pen is wonderfully clear. Have it for about 3 years now.
Happy to hear there are more owners among us 🙏🏻 love the round ends and would totally go for one as soon as we have them available 😁 this was a rather unexpected video but I think is nice to remember these pens and to bring them to light even now when they are put on hold with production. I’ll have to do some more research about that brown stuff … also need to clean the ebonite feed with some alcohol just in case there is leftover brown ink in there
This video showed up in my feed just today. For a nice turn of events, Conid announced a relaunch in partnership with Pen World EU!! They will be releasing pens in batches!! I’ve waited so long for their return.
Hey there Cynthia, yes looks like the timing was oddly spot on :D I cant wait to get my hands on a new conid - for now they do them in batches but I think we can expect something nice soon - more from the past options :D
Here we are, about a month and a half later knowing that they are back in production. Definitely a grail pen for me - will probably sell a good portion of my current collection to fund a Conid purchase!
Looks like my timing was funny yet spot on :D they are back - for now I think there are some of those red version in the pipeline but slowly they will come out with the old models and I cant wait to get my order in
Thank you Emy! Extremely detailed review of the extremely precise Conid FP! Amazing build quality, that is flawless! Wonder if this is the only Titanium FP around thus far? I still feel the pen is over-priced though...
Thank you so much my friend - I took a more pen centred review since I dont know so much info on the company (at this moment) and the other reviews told a lot of that story :D
What a fantastic pen EMI ... for me it remains a huge regret not having discovered it earlier and I keep hoping that one day, they can resume production and make us in love with this brand happy. Seduced and abandoned. please share with us for any news about them.
Couldn't agree more! THank you Luca :D - I have high hopes that maybe this year or max next year we will be able to order our beloved Conid fountain pens and we will have the chance to own them again :D
:D well... its a bit more complicated, the fact that the system that Conid is using is based on a different patten of someone else can tell you a lot more than what actually its the ownership of conid regarding this filling system... If im not mistaking (IF) Conid has a patent on the threads of the rod that catches in the piston (I think but I maybe mistaking - ive heard this discussion at a pen show between two people) - and this patent is very vague like a rod that threads in a piston - which being so vague it can be very bypass-able, so I dont think is something that stands in court when it comes to a law suit. please take what I say with a grain of salt - this is just what I heard other people talking about this aspect - it may be more it may be less or none at all
hmmm ... you have to understand conid is just the idea of two people that ether own or work for a machining/production company (I think one is a machinist and one the owner of the production company - but I may be mistaken, anyway) ... Conid is just a very small hobby operation that they used to practice when the machines of the company had spare time and no production planned, they made pens. I bet that today is even less since they are focused on more stuff outside of pens, this is why its not your usual ... pen company, since I think the focus is on more important stuff
Well if you wrote anything else that the initial comment and the one where you ask if conid is dead and no customer service - I see both of them so don’t know what you mean by deleted and what truth ?
Conid is back producing! They are selling via Penworld rather than taking orders directly and are selling in batches but at least there's a possibility for people to buy new now. Re: your comment on that brown residue in the upper ink chamber, I have three Conid Bulkfillers that I've owned for around 6 years and constantly use and clean them and I have never seen that. I wonder if there's some ink trapped in the nib unit or around the O rings in the section causing the reside? BTW the other tool is a mini Allen key and it's for maintenance of the Minimalistica model
:D yeeeey - super nice, I was contacted by them after my video and they let me know that its official they resume production :D Not in the most customisable format now ... but its a win that I take any day to have the chance to get another conid :D
It is a very fun and captivating to use filling system - very easy to clean and very high capacity, I would say it’s the baby from an eyedropper pen mixed with a piston filling mechanism 😁
Thank you so much Bill - I had this review in the making for quite some time and I was so excited to finally showcase it because I really wanted to switch to the Leonardo size 8 14k Fine nib and to try it out like this. I have made contact with FlexNibFactory to have some housings in order to both have some spare ones and also some of those transition ones, in order to put a King Of Pens nib and im so looking forward at what I can put on this pen :D also another 18k Gold size 8 Bock nib is coming - gold color tris time
great review. thank you. one should never postpone his/her to do's. I should have ordered my Conid before pandemic Covid. shame on me. this is the only fp I want to see in my inventory. I am waiting for MZG Nuda.
Totally agree - same here! I had my king-size in my cart for more than a year with constant entering and changing some stuff and looking at the pricing ... if only I gone forward with that order :D - Nuda is on the way, we are counting and just about to hit the t- 30 days.
That’s a question that you need to ask to yourself - the way we or I can see justifying such a pen would be sounding like “here we have a 50 - 69 usd watch that tells time - do I still need the Rolex which basically also tells time ?” - and this may be sounding subjective to me that’s why I began with saying that’s a question that you need to ask to yourself, because I’d take the Rolex for myself 😁
@ fair enough. I have a Steinhart watch, that’s a replica of Rolex. But now the smart watches have taken over (I feel). I need for my watch to measure steps, heart rate, tell me the temperature, etc…. So I don’t wear the Steinhart much. I think some people wear two watches for the reason mentioned above. Same with fountain pens. They are a nice luxury item, but having one is not enough, we need more pens and fill them with various inks.
Conid! For me, the Giraffe is my grail of grails. Not only is it unaffordable, you can't get it anyway! I'll see it only in my dreams. Congratulations on yours.
:D lucky they just announced that they resume production and sales - I think till December or early next year so there is hope in sight :D cant wait too get myself something from them
You can’t go wrong with flex nib factory they have housing and feeds for almost any nib you want to do my conid I settled for a vintage wahl adjustable nib
I don't have an idea as to why this got recommended to me. Might be that at the time of my watching the video has 69 likes but jokes aside i quite don't get the very expensive pens and ink. Sure it's expensive because of precious metals but writing wise I feel even a dollar or so ink pen would suffice or even a ball point pen. Maybe you can make a video about this to help the common people understand?
:D might just be that - an expensive writing instrument is everything besides the functional reason of its existence, the material, craftsmanship, the story, the design, complications (like the mechanical watches) ... usually is what you miss at the first sight :D Noted and will get back sometime with a video
A fountain pen is a different experience but yes, you don't need to spend so much to get that experience. You can get a very nice fountain pen for $20 or even less. If you are curious, try one, you might love it. I first wrote with a fountain pen more than 50 years ago in 7th grade and I fell in love with the way the ink flows onto the paper. It's not for everyone but I never write with a ball point unless I have to.
Great review. I bought my Conid in 2018 and I use it every day. It holds a huge amount of ink and it is so easy to clean. It's my grail pen.
Thank you Dennis :D keep that 218 Conid well because I think they will become next to impossible to find those old pre pandemic times - they are sooooo sweet - love mine
Thank you Emy…. Excellent first-look, and demonstration….

Thanks for this, Emy. Heard a lot about this pen, but never had this much detailed information and insight. Quite a pen.
Glad you enjoyed it! My pleasure Scot :D it is a nice quality build pen with a filling system that is the child of a piston and an eyedropper pen :D
Lovely pen. I've had mine for years now. It's wonderful to see Conid manufacturing their pens again.
It really is! Im waiting on them to make a batch of round ends :D

There are other titanium pens. My TiLiner is 100% titanium, no acrylic. Possibly more affordable at $64.
Excellent review - Thank you.
Thanks for watching! It is my pleasure

A message to Conid: a law suit against Asvine should be started before catching up production. Otherwise, I am going to order my first Asvine V200.

I wish Conid were still in production. 😞
I subscribe to this :( it would mean an instant 3 pens order regardless of the delivery time

You should! The way they are made and the way they feel is totally unique :D
Now that ASVINE P36 (piston) and V200 (Vac filler) pens are out, does it make sense to pay almost $1000 for Conid? Asinve pens are around $50-$60
