I legit would like to see a new Kid Chameleon. The core concept of the original game was good. Tons of different costumes with unique powers and abilities, some of which could be transferred when switching costumes. Just, the level design was ass. So I’d really like to see a new one with the same core idea, but better level design.
To me it's simply one of the best 2D platformers. I disagree about the level design, it's one of its biggest strengths. Which game has hidden rooms with teleporters that can send you to alternative levels, or even backwards? You never knew what to expect. 😵💫
@@timpize8733 I despise that the level layout is a complete maze. Also, AFAIK, the only way to actually fight the final boss and beat the game is to find the hidden teleporter in the first level. Once you are past the first level, I don’t think there’s any other route to the final boss except to loop back to level 1.
@@Waffletigercat No you just get to the final boss by finishing each level you're in. There's no way to get back to level 1. I don't know where you've heard that. You can check some playthroughs if you want. Some levels are a bit maze-like though. But to me it's part of the appeal. There are all kinds of level designs, some of which make very good use of the masks. And the main appeal is all the secrets and multiple paths.
@@timpize8733 I don't mean the individual levels, I meant the overall game structure being maze-like. I have tried to beat the game without using the level 1 warp many times, and it just keeps going and going and going. I seriously thought there was no other way to reach the final boss. I've gone over 50 levels deep in the game and not reached it any other way.
@@Waffletigercat I understood what you meant, but again no. There are simply a whole lot of levels. 😁 I've just checked, and there are 103 levels apparently. But you can't go through all of them in a single playthrough. Your 50 sound pretty plausible.

Sega is this really weird amalgamation of really good and incomprehensibly bad decisions. Like buying Atlus, was genius. PSO2 (the original), was genius. Streets of Rage 4 and Sonic Mania, were amazing. Giving the Yakuza team carte blanche and money, was surprisingly wise. Yet they also constantly fuck up everything. They're just really weird like that, and it's really difficult to predict what they'll do next. What I will say is that the Sega of old has been gone for over two decades by now, so I really doubt this IP "revival" initiative will work. It's as Kyle said, I don't think they understand what made these games good, and I think they're relying on people they outsource to to figure it out instead, which would be... daring, I guess ?
12:20.... but lets not forget what happens when Sega and Nintendo join forces. F-Zero GX babyyyyyyyyy... That beyond insanely good. That is god tier. That is........ a SUPER game
I can't be the only one who is looking forward to most of those games that are in development right now. The super game isn't one of them. There's a good chance that could fail and tank the company.
@@ROJM-cc1gpno. The super game is not crazy taxi or jet set. These are two completely unrelated things that people are conflating. 1) sega made comments years ago that have nothing to do with the game awards about a “super game” (which is what everyone in the industry is talking about and isn’t much different than games as a service, metaverse and NFTs) and 2) sega is making new big budget entries in its classic franchises which is what the game awards announcement is about. The two things aren’t the same.
@@JazGalaxy SEGA never said that stop lying or you would have given a link. I can easily prove what SEGA actually said about the project which JSR and CT are a part of. My take is the "super game" had a lot of potential at least with the OG gamers like myself. I didn't even grow with Sega (I was a Nintendo kid) but only if they are trying to do a multiversal end game where we get Nick Fury esque end credits scene with Tales recruiting everyone lol. If it's a live service game then it's over. However they should allow players who buy the games to carry over like a character or some shit lol

I've just checked, and there are 103 levels apparently. But you can't go through all of them in a single playthrough. Your 50 sound pretty plausible.
i hope the super game doesnt completely fail leaving sega to collapse like embracer after its failed investment but theres such a strong possibility it will
Sega is this really weird amalgamation of really good and incomprehensibly bad decisions.
Like a dragon 8 already serves as a super game in my book, with all its variety. But every company wants that Fortnite growth-pie 💀
12:20.... but lets not forget what happens when Sega and Nintendo join forces.
F-Zero GX babyyyyyyyyy... That beyond insanely good. That is god tier. That is........ a SUPER game
I can't be the only one who is looking forward to most of those games that are in development right now. The super game isn't one of them. There's a good chance that could fail and tank the company.
The super games were JSR and Crazy Taxi. They not mere remakes. Super game is the name of the project.
@@ROJM-cc1gp that gives me relief
@@doesntno maybe....depends if you like PSO2 NG if ya dont it wont.
Its the same thing of a massive project which includes super games, reboots, remakes and updates/sequels which is what they mean by new era. So go take your tantrum somewhere else.
Clockwork Knight is great Bosman.
The fact that Sega considers Phantasy Star an active IP made me lose hope. We're really stuck with that New Genesis abomination for the forseeable future, huh.
I mean, it is active. The problem is that they still pretend it's one of their biggest moneymakers, even though I'm pretty sure it hasn't been for a few years now.
Loved that the eye had Sega in it in the trailer..
Out of all of Sega’s IPs, Sonic is really only one they have where the strength of it comes from the IP itself and its content rather than just “It’s Sega.”
Rocksteady should take note of the TLOU cancellation.
Rocksteady isn't owned by a mass gaming conglomerate
@@LoliconSamalik WB is a mass media conglomerate...
DO NOT COME FOR CLOCKWORK KNIGHT
The super game will be the Ultimate Chao Garden, you can create the Chao whatever you like!
They will have cute dancing moves and will be able to build things too! Oh, and one more thing they have guns now!
Kyle was so close to breaking character multiple times in this video 😂
I would take a new 3D VectorMan over a Shinobi, Golden Axe or Comix Zone Reboot any day.
I'm sorry Kyle, but clockwork knight 1 and 2 are absolutely core memories for me.
Supreme use of the Honk this episode :)
This is, the story of a game…
Called Kid Chameleon 2.
I waited 30 years to get it…
And now it’s here 😌😌😌😌
That super game from Sega sounds like the announcement of : "Fortnite 2" or "PC 2" something ridiculously impossible.
Spiffy new glasses Mr. Boss Man
Now if they add Sonic to Jet Set Radio, that'd be kinda cool too.
