So actually, its not exactly chipper and upbeat, but its actually not morose either. See, the trumpet blare, the cymbals on 2 and 4, the rolling snares, they are commonly marching style. If you listen to the snare it even sounds like a... parade. A ROYAL. REGAL. PARADE. FOR A KING. and the lyrics? The lyrics about gods and kings and nobility and judges and powers... and serfs, peasants subjected to their rule. The song is a grandiose curtains-swing-wide red carpet affair, saying WELCOME TO THE WORST DAY OF YOUR LIFE, WHERE IT OFFICIALLY GOES DOWNHILL! KNEEL BEFORE YOUR NEW GODS!!

The song is from an album called Hawaii part II. The songs have an interconnected story that pretty much depends on how you interpret the lyrics, so they're all just theories of what the story of the album is about. The most popular theory is about a man that goes to Hawaii and fall in love with a girl there. They got together and become lovers, but suddenly the girl is murdered. It is left to interpretation if the man himself was the murderer (due to mental conditions) or was just framed for it. Eventually he goes to court and pleads insanity so he goes to an infirmary get electroshock therapy and gets insane. (Which is supposedly what this specific song on this video is about) He then escapes and tries to find his girlfriend (due to his insanity he forgot she is dead) but gets lost and die in the nature. Then they meet in the afterlife (or he goes to purgatory), up to interpretation.
@@quickfeather hes talking about the "nuns commence enchanting" section. theres faint voices in the backround chanting "AXON DENDRITE AXON DENDRITE" at 1:17 in the original song.
I was blown away by the fact that THE MIND ELECTRIC has a band arrangement. But, there were many things that bothered me. I noticed this because I happen to have a parent who teaches music. One thing I noticed was the lack of balance. The flutes seemed to over power the entire band at most of the song. A way to fix this is have them get really quite when they aren't the main melody. Its hard to hear the low woodwinds and brass when they have the main melody. At parts like 'see how the serves work the ground', let the low woodwinds and brass shine, and at 'see how the brain plays around', I think the saxes are the main melody for that part. Another thing that I noticed was the fact that not everyone is using dynamics. Again with criticizing the flutes, sorry, but they were playing loud when they should not be loud. I can also hear from some, like the trumpets and saxes, aren't pushing the air through as quick. It makes them sound drowned out and tired. I also noticed that the percussion slowed down a bit at points, but that's just the song. Speaking of the percussion and the rest of the band, it seems it isn't in line together. I also give a recommendation that while warming up, tune the instruments. If they are tuned correctly, it sounds better. Enough with the criticism, I want to say they did great. I could hear the right parts, and imagine the lyrics to the song with the band. My parent who also is a band teacher would be proud.

Marvel having made it through the night
Never they ponder, weather electric
Calming if you look at it right!
TYY
I don't need lyrics, I've the whole song memorised.

This version of the song in particular feels like the end of the world. When the 'see how the brain plays around' part happens, it's like a little break from the chaos but then that beautifully chaotic ending comes in to finish everything and tear down that feeling of order once and for all before it ends.
If I was in that audience I would be screaming (miracle musical is the best thing I’ve ever encountered)
2:50 the piano solo was amazing.
This, with the addition of demo 4, would be a match made in heaven.
1:07 is when the piece starts!! amazing!!

Actually gives me chills for no reason. Probably because it sounds like if my school band played it or something
As a band kid and a miracle musical NERD, something in me felt so happy
they should do mucka blucka next
That’s incredible! I’ve never seen an orchestra play a song in reverse in real-time.
This is my all time favorite song and I'm so glad it was given such great treatment. Nice work!!
Same, the only thing that makes this piece perfect is
THE REVERSED AND CREEPY VOCALS THAT MAKE YOU QUESTION YOUR EXISTENCE

am i the only one that noticed the song ended early? they forgot the "when it grows bright the particals start to marvel having made it through the night, never they ponder whether electric calming if you look at it right."
Me: singing the song while listening
I’m in love with the mind electric
Honestly I don’t know why everyone’s saying that the teacher would be mad once he heard the lyrics, he seems like a cool guy.
I'm glad that people keep making covers of this album ! Keep up the good work, this is really great!
i never realized that this song sounds like big band from the 1920s without synth or lyrics lol
This was such a joy to watch wow I've always wanted to see their song being played by a band!!
Your standards are absolutely rock bottom. I weep for your tragic addiction to Internet media consumption. You have abandoned quality in pursuit of an endless scroll. What a waste of life's potential. As an artist, its just so strange how people's sense of taste really doesn't matter if you can keep scrolling.

Bro you’re the one literally replying to every comment about how poor this arrangement was or whatever, talk about wasting time 💀

What the hell are you talking about-the only one who's gone mad here is the one liking their own bitter comments lmao
I’m glad people speak up and suggest to play these songs. Amazing work
This brings back memories of arranging Strawberry Fields forever for orchestra + choir in high school over a decade ago! Along with everyone else, I'm super glad this exists and thank you for bringing it to life! Don't worry about the performance quality, and don't get down on anybody who cared less or didn't meet your standards. Just keep creating, take advantage of opportunities around you, and spread positivity!
bro looks like he finna have a heart attack if he listens to the regular reversed version
They’re incredible & I love how realistic the director’s speech at the beginning is, I’m in choir and love when directors are open to new things and he’s cleary super impressed and interested in the piece it makes me very happy.
maybe it's just that i've heard the og song so many times but i feel like i can actually hear the words, this is wicked cool
Wow I loved what you did with it and it’s awesome to hear it live! You did a great job re arranging it
I KNOW THIS SONG BY HEART ‼️‼️🔥🔥
THE "SOMEONE HELP ME" PART WAS SO GOOD OMGG
amazing performance! this gave me goosebumps to listen
.. going to send this to my band director and ask to play it
THIS IS AMAZING, LOVED IT
The mind electric is one of my favorite songs
Asked my band teacher if we could play The Mind Electric and used this video as reference.
I am SO pleasantly surprised to see this in my recommended. AMAZING. May suggest for my school band this upcoming semester
WE GETTING OUT OF THE MENTAL ASYLUM WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
as a miracle musical/tally hall superfan and also a band kid, it was extremely exciting to see this piece played out. huge props to the talented students who went out of their way to arrange compositions for a concert band and bring this performance to life ! I am very impressed
The fact I knew the lyrics word for word 😃
a wonderful rendition of one of my favorite songs!
Ahhh I’m going to blackmail my band teacher into letting us play this, this is my 2nd all-time favorite song
Fell in love with this song and while looking for covers I found this by chance. Imagine my surprise when I realized I recognize the people in this video cause they’re literally in my class lmao. What’s up dude u guys did a great job 👌👌
I didnt even think this was able to be played by a band!
I would cry if I got to play this with people. Amazing work
With the lyrics removed, it's a rather cheery song. Would've never thought it'd sound so good on wind and brass.

Bravo! Huge Miracle Musical fan, and you all did wonderfully, great job, always fun to see new renditions and covers of my fave songs
the way I can hear the voices
This is awesome, I have been obsessed with The Mind Electric for months and to see people play it makes me so happy (I'm a band kid lol)
My one and only qualm is that they DIDNT LET THE SERFS GIVE IT ALL THEY GOT.
