God I wish this was remastered. I remember playing this game.over and over. When I heard maneater was coming out I was so hyped.imagining something like this masterpiece.

I remember one time seeing a dorsal fin in a canal here in the Netherlands (not sure if it was my child imagination at work during that time, as there should be no fish larger than pikes in the Dutch canals), it was around 2007 or 2008 where I bought this game before so I was extra cautious and scared of sharks anyways..
So much better and more brutal than the new maneater game. Sadly. Btw wtf never knew this was a open world game after the second mission. For some reason I never progressed beyond that

The big difference is that they actually designed unique and wacky missions for JU, and Maneater instead squandered it's chance to do that to an even more ridiculous extent in favor of just plopping you down with a repetitive check list of arcadey tasks that you had to do in order to progress to the decent zone boss fights. Meanwhile, on top of the missions JU has it also has a much more barebones open world that doesn't matter too much because it's just a place to mess around in between missions rather than the majority of the gameplay. As much shit as I gave both during my playthroughs, I did mostly enjoy JU (underwater minefield mission aside) and enjoyed Maneater for what it did but was disappointed for a lot of the things it didn't do that it could have.
This game wasn’t appreciated back in the day, but if they can remaster it with a better camera control it could actually be pretty good to buy. Yes I am aware of Man Eater but I like this game a lot than Man Eater.
Yee I used to play this with my sister growing up, we had alota fun playing it, but the controls were definitely shit & tbh I can’t remember if we ever even finished it, like I remember we got stuck on this one part that was a real bitch & idk if we eventually got passed it, or just rage quit & never went back to it, since we were so young, shit was a long time ago, but after watching this it makes me hope we still have the game put away somewhere so we can go back & try playing it again, it’d be a fun throw back lol

Just as curious data, the trick of Shamu´s boss fight was to ram her. By ramming into her belly or center of the body, you will turn her up, and leaving her in a "shock trance" or posture for a few moments, leaving the killer whale really open for an direct and severe attack. By doing it, is not easier to catch her and be sure of being safe (since she cannot counterattack), but also you will end more faster, because of the higher amounts of damage you will dealt to her. What you did here was the hard-long route towards victory, but is not bad. In the end, you completed the mission. PD: Were you using a controller in PC?. I don´t remember the mobility of Jaws, the shark or whatever is called, being so "rough", at least not in PC, I can surely understand it on consoles or if you are using a controller, since they are less precise than a mouse and a keyboard in this type of games.
This is what man eater should have been. Never understood why they chose to make it goofy Arcadey videogame instead of doing it realistic like this one.
@@Shadefyre343 well yeah it does have its videogamy mechanics, but it went for a much more immersive gameplay approach than man eater which fully embraced the videogame identity.
To do the body bomb, you have to charge out of the water and flick the joystick up. It's a bitch to learn, but with practice you can do it fairly consistently.
