What's your ideal use case for a pedal like this?
Solo boost in the loop so I can boost volume and frequencies and not sound the same as my rhythm tone. Currently using the Buxom Boost but may have to try this
What an incredibly wonderful video to watch! 😃 You absolutely show the Tone Tweaker from one of its very best sides, and we are proud and grateful for all the kind words from both you and your viewers! Thank you so much, Leon, and everyone! 🥰
Thanks for filling my ears with glorious tones over all these years!
I'm currently revisiting my 90's sound.
Maton DC545 with a Bigsby and SD59s.
It can really sing with feedback that'll jump harmonically with bit of vibrato finesse. The tricky part is the EQ at a given volume, it will go off the high end chart real quick if there's to much getting through, and sound muddy and lifeless if there's not enough.
Turns out the SD1 set as a boost gets a gig again pushing into a Bluesbreaker (which never left) as it was back in the day.
Sorry ....long story 🙄
In short, trying to nail that very specific interaction with my current set up, it was all about EQ and signal level into moderately low gain.
I think this would be one of those pedals.
I think using it as a clean boost for the bridge pickup on the clean channel of a two channel amp with A shared eq would be the best use for me because by the time you get especially Marshall channel switching amps dialed in to detonate when you try to use the clean channel on your bridge pickup you usually have no balls. I’m talking about DSLs I’m sure the JVM with its independent EQs wouldn’t need the clean channel fattened up
I love Carl Martin pedals! The PlexiTone and Panama are staples on my board......🤘🤘
So nice to hear! Thank you Christopher! 🤩
i love it
Yup great piece of gear
Thanks a lot, John! 😃
The entire Carl Martin range of pedals seems to be pretty good.
Solid!
The older I get, the more simplicity and subtlety appeals to me, and I don't think that's just because of mental decline. I love grease and crazy effects, but a pedal like this makes you appreciate subtlety. Truly nice.
"Does what it says on the tin" is really all we need.
@Leon T odd That thing has a great spread tone range for us "Tone Chasher s" "D-Mack"
DMack approved!
Great idea to have the 3 band eq. Especially for Strats when you are changing guitars at a gig ( Strat to humbuckers) you could have this to put on to give you more level and tone on the Strat!
That's probably my ideal use case with this pedal. Extra level and mids!
Great sounding pedal; great demo Leon! Where would you suggest is the best place to put this pedal in the signal chain on a pedalboard?
Somewhere near the start of the chain IMO
Good EQ
Oh ok, so this could be used multiple ways in a signal chain with the EQ? I could use to boost and sculpt a dodgy pedal, helping it play nice with other's?
Precisely!
Everything you do just sounds better with a carl martin booster ... Its one of those more pedal type of definitions like what satch would say..lol..i still have that first carl martin booster with one tube that runs on 110 volts and the first mxr distortion plus... Carl martins stuff is all especially pleasing to use with your tone .. this one has way more range than the first one he is famous for building.... I wonder if he still puts tubes in them anymore.. cheers and Cheerios mate.. kinda like saying everything goes better with coke cola ... Just dont forget the milk with the Cheerios mate 🌏 😺
Leon, stop posting things and making them sound Grammy worthy. :P I don't have the cash to buy all of this at the moment :P I have the Orange Two Stroke (2 of em), this sounds like it would be better for cleans/bluesy tone. I love Fuzz, but taming it for any "clean tones" is tricky. Eq/compression pedals seem to be the way to go for "quack".
An EQ setup for an "anti-boost" can be a great way to clean things up.
🍺 I know who's buying the next round.
@@JDubzDrumz Well, I haven't had Bosco for a while.
