Rory even though this was a "competition" the sportsmanship you showed by help the competition, fixing Ben's rodeo, Eric's drive line, spotting for others. You get the all time sportsman ship award in my books.
I appreciate him spending time filming and publishing Eric from BSF. That guy is THE OG that started all this TH-cam recovery stuff. His skillset is NOT these rocky trails, yet he showed up and fought hard.
Although Rory's sportsmanship is definitely commendable, any one of the teams would have helped any other team in a heartbeat. This was less of a contest and more of just a bunch of friends having a good time and putting on a show for the enjoyment of the crowd. And they all did that in spades. 👍
I hope this added exposure gets them all a few hundred thousand more subscribers. I would love it if all the great entertainment they provide all of us were well compensated.
tacder1 I was just going to say the same thing ,Rory you showed what friendship ,mateship and the games were all about Good on you mate ,Glenn from New Zealand
I find it amazing that Rory went from “who would want to watch me work” to the people’s choice. You can see the confidence boost in real time. You deserve it! And Shawn is the man. He’s that guy that you want to work with. Always in a good mood, and quick with the jokes, but never complains about getting work done. Then thank you Mike for getting everyone to talk more, and chasing with the camera. I see the work that you put in getting other angles and still being there to work. Bravo gentlemen
It showed a lot of class and character when you stopped and helped the other contestants out. I think you and the team did a very good job during the event and you should all be very proud.
Rory and Team are the ultimate competitors and sportsmen at the same time! Showing how the work is really done, helping the other teams really understand the work of rock trail recovery, engaging the fans, and having fun. Total package in team Trailmater.
I was watching Trailmater when Rory was his own cameraman, and I still would be, but at the same time, Mike and Shawn really takes this channel together. The three of them together really make a great team, which makes for perfect videos.
I been a fan of Rory for a long time also. Not to put down the other teams but I made my choice the first time I heard the wrecker games was going to happen. I watched almost all of the channels involved building their wreckers and I never gave it a second thought Rory and his team would be the tops. The red GMC team was very impressive for being out of its element but still was a great show. Matt's rig is awesome. Paul's is cool as hell. I love Merlin's diesel. 👍🇺🇸✌️
I loved the Trailmater channel when it was 45 minutes of the front driver's tire, and I love that with the addition of Shawn and Mike they've maintained that lo-fi, no frills atmosphere. Just rocks and trucks and funny guys getting a job done.
I really love that you guys put on a real life demonstration of how you recover vehicles. Dragging the car up sideways @ full throttle is fun (like other contestants did), but you kept it professional and I really do love that.
The old saying ,” often imitated ,never duplicated “ applies here . Rory went to work along with his crew and demonstrated what they do everyday . Did it very well and showed the rest how it’s done . The rest ripped and roared and tore stuff up showing off that they could drag stuff through the rocks no matter the outcome . Rory and the guys are down to earth, humble and capable .
Rory seems like an octopus behind the wheel of Trail Mater. At times, seems like he was doing 3,4 or even 5 things at once. Amazing vehicle control. I know it was a competition and it was fun, but it seemed like another day at the office for Rory, Mike and Shawn. Great teamwork.
I *LOVE* that you filmed this in a way that we could hear you all talking to one another! In watching the other channels I was disappointed not to see more of the interaction between driver and spotter and passenger. I really enjoyed a front row seat to the technical aspects of this task. Yes, it was entertaining to watch Merlin bomb around and see Paul roll Ben over 😂 but it's also really, really cool to see Team Trailmater taking the job seriously and putting on a masterclass of skill and communication!
It's easy to tell who has knowledge on how to use a winch. When to free spool, when to boom in or out. Rory is also a Winchmaster! Also helps having a top notch Spotter too.
I'm impressed by Rory's ability to control the tow truck so smoothly while working with a manual trans. He can keep the power on in a way that you can't tell that it's not an automatic. He is also a great sport in helping his "competitors."
When I first started watching Rory, I used to always wonder why he didn't put the seat further back when he drove. Then I realized he did have the seat all the way back, he's just that tall! Lol
The first time I met Rory was at his old shop. He came up front from the shop and stood in the doorway to the front lobby. I thought, "Oh, shit." He's gotta be 6'5". And, maybe 270ish. He filled the doorway.
Rory. Your team worked together the best of all of them. I really loved your approach to doing what you do every day. Having had you help me once with my vehicle, I certainly appreciate you taking care of the customer's vehicle to the best of your ability, and in my opinion, that is what makes you better than everyone else. Love the footage and seeing how you all communicated and worked together. Great Team!!
I absolutely love how Rory steps up and helps his competition. These games are for fun, not winning or losing. Rory puts on a great performance!! He deserved the people’s choice award!
Honestly, I want to see Paul challenge Merlin to a duel over the "family rivalry" that happened at the Wrecker Games. I challenge you to Jeeps in Moab at high noon! (Obviously, just for laughs but it would be fun to see)
There was more of Rory helping out in everyone else's videos than there was in his own. This man and his team are first class and shining examples of humility. I'm so freakin glad you got to hear the crowd like that, Rory. You deserved every single moment of it.
When You watch this in detail, You sure can tell 2 big factors in this. #1.A Standard Transmission vs an Automatic, where one can lug it right down to get traction & #2. How Rory know the friction point of the Clutch and how to use it very well. Defiantly proves what I always say, Standards beats Automatics any day. Too bad most new trucks do not come with a standard transmission anymore. Only one I know of is the Toyota on special order. Plus, fuel mileage is better as well. Well done, Rory!! You deserved to win!! I still maintain Your skills are tops in the business.
Love that Rory released Wrecker Game footage like all his other footage doing what they do. Great work team Trail Mater, it's why you're the fan favorite!
just watching this for a second time Loved it even more than the first time. Mike, Shawn and Rory (and Lily andJustin?) you make a great team. How humbling it must be to win the people's choice award and realize how loved you are. Your channel would not be the same if even one of you left. Thanks for including us in your adventures 😊❤
Simply the best Rory! TRLM8R is a beast, and you know how to drive it, and show everyone how recovery is done in that environment. Hats off! You are a true gentleman, always helping out everyone who needs any help. Bravo.
Way to put on a clinic team Trail Mater! Rory, you have come so far with you public speaking and MCing. Its fun to watch you move out of your comfort zone and into the someone that can play to the crowd and look like you are having a good time. Awesome content.
I haven't watched BSF's or Merlin's channel much. But in this type of terrain, towing a vehicle behind them, Rory, Trail Mater and crew, all have a definite advantage with a proven rig and experience.
Mike does a wonderful Job being Rory’s second set of eyes and Mike has to have nerves of steel to sit in the towed vehicles sit and trust Rory’s abilities and still being smiling…My Hat is off to your recovery team…even in “fun” game you boys take it seriously with well earned smiles ! 😊
Yah, But when Rory called for Mike to jump the starter. Mike jumped Under the truck without hesitation. Now that's nerves of steel. Plus He used a Non-insolated steel bar to jump it. Total trust in the Team.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing you guys take this seriously and cause minimal damage to the Rodeo! Love watching you guys work. Truly a well oiled machine of teamwork, knowledge, skill, and truck design. Congratulations on the People's Choice Award, you absolutely deserved it!!
Rory, for a guy who wasn't comfortable even talking to a camera at first, it must have been surreal to have a crowd of thousands chanting your name. Gratz, big guy - and to the Mike & Shawn show who keep everything moving along with a quip and a smile - and a whole lotta skill. An awesome result for the team, and well earned. 👍
Excellent video with stellar editing choices. It’s heartwarming to see how Rory cares about all the others. The way Rory, Shawn and Mike work together to tackle any situation is my fav thing about this channel, and you can always hear these guys laughing in every video. Class acts all three.🌺
And also the real winners, with extra points for helping other teams succeed, going reverse up the chute, and being the only team to not tear off the hood!! You guys have a lot to be proud of. As well as all the other teams.
Wow, I just recently subbed to your channel and I gotta say Rory is just a genuine good dude! Not only did he help everyone along the way but he drove that trail like he was towing a Rolls Royce! Mad skills Rory, next year you'll be hard to beat!!
I here you praise your audience again and again Rory. It's a two way street man. Watching you guys out there doing your job so beautifully. No shit! You really showed them how it's done clearly. With buckets of humility. Credit to you.
You truly would be the first wrecker I would call to get my truck out of the hills. 🎉 All of you have made great strides in sharing this great passion of yours. Stay humble, no drama, and keep it real. Awesome video and teamwork. ❤
You know, having watched the Day 2 events several times on the various channels, I see the difference. You are recovering a vehicle off-road. They are just hauling heavy and awkward loads up over the rocks. Big big big difference. Kudos to you.
By far the best coverage of the wrecker games! You guys did an amazing job with that lil Isuzu. Definitely the champ in my eyes! Your team did a great job! Can't wait to see you defend your title!
Nicely done Rory, you and your team are the greatest. Not only did the fans have the time of their lives, it's obvious you guys did too. I predict next year will be twice as big.
You obviously have the best working together team of ALL. It was a true joy to watch, a symphony of sorts. Mike and the starter, great shot. Always a pleasure to watch and the helping out of the others shows a great heart.
We've watched all the videos and this one, by far, shows the incredible surgical precision that your team displayed. Loved the in-car communication. Bravo Rori.
This was a lot of fun to watch. Taking nothing away from Matt, Paul, Merlon or Eric, if I was ever in a bad spot and needed recovery of my vehicle, you guys would be the only ones I would call. The way Rory, Sean and Mike work together is amazing. Countless hours of experience and the trust you three have in each other is amazing. I proudly wear both of my Trailmater shirts. You guys are the real deal.
The event was awesome. Fun was had by all, and the show we got to see with entertainment value was one for the books. The TrailMater team was fun and friendly, and of course, a crowd favorite. Trailmater, a daily off-road work driver, showed brute strength and feistiness while navigating the obstacles and was a crowd pleaser. Thank you, guys, for your participation in the event. I especially enjoyed the camaraderie and all-around good ribbing and tomfoolery of the team members and judges in the event. All this chemistry made for a very memorable event, and I look forward to the next Wrecker Games. To Rory: A salute to you for being the people's choice winner and first loser. For a rigged game, I sure enjoyed the ending! It was indeed an EPIC event!
This is why for months, I’ve been team Trail Mater. Rory is so good at the technical stuff and his truck is so proven. It’s almost like another day at work. No sweat 😅. Awesome job Rory Shawn and Mike. Great video as always! Thank you 😊 and awesome job to everyone involved!
You guys DEFINITELY won the towing skills side of this competition no doubt. Your team did what it always does and it showed in your ability to do everything smooth and technical.
Been jumping through a lot of people's content of this; Rory's is genuinely enthralling, I just watch it all; watching him do great work at an elevated pace is awesome. Great job as always guys.
Winning people's choice shows you that the advice Matt gave you to start talking in your videos was the right call. By far the best and safest pull up the trail was yours. It was a great 'competition', but the fun and fellowship outweigh any bragging rights. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Rory uses Trailmater like a surgeon uses a scalpel. Peoples Choice was absolutely spot on. Merlon put on a fun show, but we all know who we would want dragging us out. Keep it up Rory, Shawn and Mike! Hopefully I never need you when we wheel Moab, but it's nice knowing ya'll are there.
Something that is coming across a lot more in this video then the other videos is just how much communication and teamwork goes into the recovery. It's really neat to see/hear that aspect.
I picked Rory Irish when I first heard of the wrecker games. Rory has a older video of him using his precision driving and Mater's outstanding traction and side digs with no additional damage to the towed vehicle. The older video puts this level driving easier compared to the video where he gets this guy's jeep on a trailer through some of the tightest terrain. Rory Irish and his crew are the best in the business in my opinion. All teams involved put on a great show and deserve a good thanks. 👍✌️
Rory,Mike,Shaun, you guys are by far the best of the best when it comes to skilled offroad recovery and entertainment factors as well. Thank you so much for all you do.
Team Trail, Mater killed it! You guys work so well together and put on a great show. Would have loved to be there in person but honestly, watching from the comfort of my home, on a huge computer screen, is hard to beat. Love you guys!
The Rory,Shawn and Mike show great job guys love that secret weapon lol😂very 👍 well done. All though every one of you are winners in my book and Merlin he did awesome with trailmater Paul honored grampa Sherm with his dream wrecker.Eric did surprisingly well with his rig and the beast Matt made turned out as cool as I'd imagined. And a well done finish on the chutes running it in reverse always amaseing.
What an awesome team you've are. There was a lot of skills that showed through each and every one of you. Your fans were awesome as well with the peoples choice.
You guys are a great team! I really thought all the experience with the truck would pay of, but seeing this what really strikes me is the awesome team you are! Towing that car looked calm, controlled and safe throughout the trail
The video I have been waiting for ... and Team TrailMater did not disappoint!!! Rory the Lead Sprinkler ... Shawn the Calm Rock ... and Mike the Ultimate Spotter!!!
That was absolutely amazing guys, Rory I really take my hat off to you, I don't know how you managed to pull Shaun in his car all the way through that gnarly trail whilst keeping him safe and on either two or four wheels all the way through. Your skills with trail mater are outstanding. Mike you guided them a lot of the time helping to keep them safe. You guys really are the bee's knees. Stay awesome and thanks for bringing us along for the ride. It looked like everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously. I do hope this becomes a regular games session for the wreckers.
Rory so many positives of you and your team. I appreciate that you kept Mike's voice in the video and the quick reactions of Shaun. What a great TEAM. You drove like a it was a customers vehicle treating it with respect. The way you use front and rear diggs with line locks along with the winches to position both vehicles shows much practice and understanding. I used to be one of those telling you to talk more. You exceeded anything I could have hoped for. Your knowledge should be shared. You demonstrated it many times in helping others during this event. Even saw the BSF video were you unloaded to go with Eric and the great words of encouragement and support you gave him. Great respect.
Thanks Rory, you are the greatest, love your mechanical ways, love your team, and call Rory for what ever your need is and he and his team will greatly take care of you. God Bless all,
Rory, you and your team are clearly in a class by yourselves. Trailmater is without a doubt the most capable rig with Rory as the captain. Also, great job by Shawn as the rodeo wheel and brake man.
Roy you an Your Team just simply killed this course !! It was fun to watch y'all work together the you did ! Plus you where out helping the other competitors when they needed the extra help ! You Sir are one class act ! Your team are true Gentleman as well ! Thank you for all you do for the community of off reading ! You are a true King among Kings !!;✌️❤️🙏
It is so good to see everyone pitching in to help one another, especially when everyone is enjoying themselves. This says more about the type of people in the off road community and the kinds of people who are there to support everyone and be respectful towards each other.
I'll never understand why "Trail Mater" has fewer subs than Paul and Matt. Rory and his crew work hard, play hard, and always put out great videos. I hope the wrecker games bring more people to your channel. You guys definitely deserve it!
What a team! Masterful driving, Rory! Perfect spotting and camera work, Mike! And nerves of steel with a super calm demeanour, Shawn! Rory should have received extra points for the help he provided to other contestants along the way. By the way, Rory, that wrecker should go to the Smithsonian when you’re finished with it … years from now, of course. 😀
You deserved first place and the people's choice award! You were amazing. I enjoyed every moment of watching everyone's videos. You are a very kind person to assist everyone around whenever there was a need! True gentlemand and great sport🏅 Thanks for sharing your life with us!💕🙌
Not only were all of y’all competitors. Y’all were having fun for the crowd as well as helping the other competitors. At the same time trailmater doing what it does all the time making it look almost easy. But I know that takes a well built equipment as well as an experienced talented team 👍
Can I just say that this was one of the most impressive things I have ever seen! The way you all work flawlessly together is inspiring. Congratulations!
Rory: I haven't watched very many of your videos, but less than 30 minutes into this video I have a few observations. 1. Having watched video of others who were in this competition, it is clear that your skill in pulling a disabled vehicle through a trail like this far exceeds that of any of the other competitors. 2. The fact that you, on multiple occasions, walked back to assist others is not only a mark of true professionalism, but of great sportsmanship. It is clear to me why you were deemed the people's choice. You have earned my respect.
Your technique for pulling the vehicle up the rocks by doing free spool and then pulling and winching back in to position. Is how skidders work to drag logs out of the forest. Great job and keep up the good work.
Count me as one of the fan's saying; Rory and "Crew" are the hand's down people's favorite. For good reasons, don't change shit. Much Respect to you all
I have been binge watching the Off Road Wrecker Games videos from the competitors and some judges, I kind of knew before watching any videos your team was going to finish in the top 2, but very happy you guys won people's choice. I hope to attend next year. Merlin was a surprise as if I was a betting man I would have bet he DNF. It was nice to see that you took getting the Rodeo back to the staging area with very little damage serious, even though it is probably going to be crushed at the end of the event.
Rory & the guys Rocked the Recker Games!!! You seemed like it was another day on the trail doing a recover, like Prize Fighter in the ring!!! Amazing job Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rory even though this was a "competition" the sportsmanship you showed by help the competition, fixing Ben's rodeo, Eric's drive line, spotting for others. You get the all time sportsman ship award in my books.

I agree Luke !!!!
Shows these guys have class !!¡
That is Rory's character as well as the character of everyone involved. They all helped when another rig was down for whatever the circumstance.
I still enjoyed Merlin cutting Fab Rats Tire(All in good fun). :) wish I could have been there. All were great and have great character.
@@garymitchell1582 bet he owed Paul or Ben some retribution for a past transgression committed back in the 90s😂😊👽

RIGHT
@Donna 🗝 of course you wouldn't! You are all over here crushing on Rory!
I really appreciate the fact that Rory was right there helping BSF . Sportsmanship at it's finest

By far the best coverage of the wrecker games! You guys did an amazing job with that lil Isuzu. Definitely the champ in my eyes! Your team did a great job! Can't wait to see you defend your title!
This was the best video by far I’ve seen. Great editing choices. Great clips from inside the Isuzu too. 🌺
@@Kiki-Kauai my thoughts exactly!
BleepinJeep's coverage and editing was great as well, if you haven't already, check it out. All of them were great, very professional.
The placement is just incredible, great drivers in both seats and a damn good spotter too.
This is the best collaboration in the history of youtube. I bet nobody expected their job would draw such a crowd!
Something that is coming across a lot more in this video then the other videos is just how much communication and teamwork goes into the recovery. It's really neat to see/hear that aspect.
You ain't kidding technical. Much respect for the skills.
Love Sean's laugh he has the best.
A massive hat's off to the entire crew!!!
Your camera angles editing and radio chatter was by far the best done of them all. They should all take notes.
Rory,Mike,Shaun, you guys are by far the best of the best when it comes to skilled offroad recovery and entertainment factors as well. Thank you so much for all you do.
“This is what we do everyday”
The mater crew always brings her home in one piece, AND has fun doing it…everyday!
Thanks Guys!!!
❤ the comms play by play. Thanks for sharing what you do.
You, your truck , and your team did awesome!! Thank you for the amazing job you do!
Humility is a great trait please pass it on Rory & company Sean Mike ☺️great Job
I love watching Shaun!! He is The Man!! 💪. Stoic, reliable and always ready, and always quick with a smile!!
Congrats Rory. It was so cool to see you in action and meet you there. Well done.
This is a master class...by BOTH drivers AND the spotter! Bravo gentleman. Well done!
Mr Finesse with the Mike and Sean show! If I ever get back to Moab and break my jeep I'm calling you guys!
There is something to say, about a guy that makes the job look easy!
Hands down the most skilled crew. That Rodeo has less damage on it than if it had been able to drive itself through those obstacles.
It is so good to see everyone pitching in to help one another, especially when everyone is enjoying themselves. This says more about the type of people in the off road community and the kinds of people who are there to support everyone and be respectful towards each other.
Thanks for making. Great moves. In memory of Robert.
I'll never understand why "Trail Mater" has fewer subs than Paul and Matt. Rory and his crew work hard, play hard, and always put out great videos. I hope the wrecker games bring more people to your channel. You guys definitely deserve it!
Congratulations on your "1st" place and the people's choice award, which was more than deserved.
True gentlemand and great sport🏅 Thanks for sharing your life with us!💕🙌
A big shout out to the guys running up that hill doing the filming !❤
Total class helping everyone get thru or fix their rig AWESOMENESS Rory
“We return your vehicle in the same condition that you left it!” That is something that more companies need to adopt.
Your technique for pulling the vehicle up the rocks by doing free spool and then pulling and winching back in to position. Is how skidders work to drag logs out of the forest. Great job and keep up the good work.
the secret weapon and Eric throwing sand back on.....😂😂😂
Count me as one of the fan's saying;
Rory and "Crew" are the hand's down people's favorite.
For good reasons, don't change shit.
Much Respect to you all
LOVE THEM ALL BUT RORY AND TEAM PUT ON A CLINIC!!!
This has been hilarious, 5 guys out playing with their toys.
You guys are an awesome team, best crew in my book.
Rory & the guys Rocked the Recker Games!!! You seemed like it was another day on the trail doing a recover, like Prize Fighter in the ring!!! Amazing job Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Living the dream! You guys rock! Congrats on a great show of skill!
King hook and the Ateam you guys work so awesome together Mike great spotting for shaun you guys are killing it Job well done
Awesome performance Rory!! Looks like y’all had fun! The in cab shots are great love seeing you and trail mater work together.
