Their ambitions, I don't think so? Me, it is because they are blinded by the morality of humanity. This morality is used for survival, so that a group remains more easily united (the whole process of sociability).
Morals seek survival, not truth. (Does it have to exist, the philosopher do not agree too much on its defenition and its existence.
Man is hypocrite on Nature and on himself.
He has illusions of "protection" because the truth is too hard. Why can't he stand it? I don't really know, but it's related to morality (but it's not just that).

*OK, so this is my take on what’s going on, so please don’t hate on it. Obviously, Anger is the person on the cover. I just threw in some other characters to flesh it out, and I must say, I’m actually pleased with the results. Basically, Anger and Manipulative are Primal beings (If their names didn’t give it away). After a little chat, we get a little taste of a certain person called Null and a little bit of the Void. Who is he? What is the Void? Well, I’ll let you’re imagination run wild, on that and many other things. That’s the beauty of this. All it takes is one little spark, and everyone comes up with more and more ideas. So, I hope you have some fun with this! For now, good bye, and may the Void remain Eternal* ;)

I got one hell of a lucid dream with this on loop.
In the mists of a broken and crumbling world, a woman with amber eyes sat, watching and waiting for you to do something. Wicked was her grin, and overly confident was her pose, fingers steepled and elbows on her knees. You had been scrounging through the debris for anything of value to scrap or trade, fighting off other scavengers and bandits in this horrible world, but when a bright gleam of light poked through the everpresent smoke covering the sky, you had looked up to see her sitting there, a silhouette of a giant cross behind her. Uncharacteristically, you fell to your knees and dropped your hands to the side, letting go of the bag of junk and the rifle you had been carrying with you.
"Who are you?"
The woman grinned wider, her amber eyes cutting through your soul.
"A messenger. You have been chosen to rebuild this world, to return it to its former glory."
"Chosen by who?"
"By me, of course! I've been watching you for some time. I will help you in this task, and in return, you shall worship me and build your new civilisation around me."
Dumbstruck, I nodded slowly, and the woman jumped to her feet and clapped her hands together once with that same wicked smile on her face.
"This will be fun."

They stood up, their long, two-toned hair billowing behind them as they stepped up to you. A pale finger pressed beneath your chin, sinking a nail into it, blood drawn and dripping downwards. Keep in mind: Reality’s borders are what you make them out to be. A change of mind can make it far more than just reality.

@@karticus1139 True, I do like some edgy stories where the hero is his own worst enemy, the girl represents our dark truth, the fact that deep down, most people only care for their own wellbeing, the hero is a fantasy the perfect human, who wants to save everyone even at the cost of his own life, but maybe somewhere deep down the hero didn't care about anyone but, himself and when feeling like no one was going to help him even though he helped everyone ells. He felt true Anger and instead of saving everything he destroyed everything. After all if you were gifted with the power to save people, at the cost of your own life, who you don't really know, and they would much rather prefer you sacrifice yourself to save them. Would you save them or would you use that power to save yourself, go to your family or make a family??? so tell me Karticus would you sacrifice or destroy???
