today is 11/6/2022. I just did this exactly step by step. I will be playing the division 2 in a couple of hours. I am going to time it while I play and hopefully I don't get anymore crashes. I will update everyone and tell you if this worked for me. EDIT: I played last night for 3 hours straight, not a single crash after doing this. Usually I crash once between 20 mins to an hour or an hour to 2 hours of game time. So far this has worked. I will be monitoring for about a week straight and will post if anything happens. I have a strong feeling this may have just worked. EDIT: 11/10/2022. Been playing since 11/6/2022 and I have only crashed once with *HOURS* of game time. This is definitely a fix to the *constant* crashes I was dealing with before. Everyone do this, it helps *A* *LOT!*

THIS FIXED IT. I just wanted to come here and say i tried all fixes none worked. BUT THIS. This friggin worked. i tried and tried for days. specially when trying to play multiplayer i would crash within 20 Min. followed this step by step and i have not crashed for the last 6 hours now. all i want to say is thanks for doing this. Just needed to add this here for people looking up in 2023 - I went from the game being mostly fine to sudden crashes non stop - especially when playing as a team. Completely random, sometimes lots but sometimes just a few (lucky I always loaded back onto the group activity and didn’t miss out on loot or xp). Today I did this exact guide as instructed and a whole day of gaming later - 0 crashes. Disabling uplay overlay and Xbox overlay didn’t do anything. THIS worked. This is the fix we need!

Hopefully this work. Thanks for making a video. I've only played Assassin's Creed which is single player and Ghost Recon Wildlands. Wildlands multiplayer was insanely laggy. Never had issues with AC. But Division 2 is ridiculous. Especially countdown. I always see one or 2 people crash at the end.
Thanks for this, My game started crashing recently, for no apparent reason after it had been running flawlessy for the past 2 months. Every 15 - 20 minutes it would freeze or crash to desktop. I've just played for 4 hours without issues after trying your fix. Thanks again for sharing!!

I don't usually give enough of a shit to comment on videos, but i have been fighting these crashes since warlords dropped while my friends see minimal to zero issues, every damn "fix" has just been a placebo effect until this. Bravo good sir. Bravo. 2 play sessions of 4+ hrs with zero crashes when i was getting one every 5min. Was rolling through the dark zone with some randoms tonight and they kept disconnecting, sent them your way for your reddit post and mentioned this video.

This helped me so much my man I just got back into playing this, the reason why I quit was because I couldn’t find a fix for these crashes, you just helped me unlock a fun game to play my dude!!!
followed steeps in the r eddit post helped me fix an issue with my game just not booting up after a crash. the issue was after EAC would show the game just wouldnt boot up and task manager would show it was active but game would never open. after following some of the steps in your post i was able to get my game working again. thank you so much.

I can confirm it works. Seems like Massive has some Massive network engineers shortage. A shame, but luckily there are people who gonna fix it for us for free. Thanx man!

Like several other ubisoft games. This one suffered from bad programing and a total lack of security permissions for Users/Admin. Thanks for suggesting this as it was the only thing that finally worked with the sudden random crashes that started a few updates back. Having done the same thing as you. I posted the fixes and yes, ubisoft still hasn't bothered to fix any of them still. Will do a video for my channel and promote your great fix for my subscribers to see also. I'm excited to try this. I absolutely loved the first (played on PS4) and bought The Division 2 last year and wasn't able to complete the first mission without a crash, despite trying the placebo fixes I'd found online. As with Bethesda games, I was hoping I could find something on Nexus that just fixes everything, but no such luck. I'm not yet ready to reinstall and play this game since I'm into something else at the moment, but when I am, the first thing I'll do is revisit this video and apply your advice and keep my fingers crossed that it actually helps. didnt work for me, TU16, rx 6700xt,ryzen 5600x,32gb ram played 3h without issues, played the next day and it crashed after1h whenever you look for solutions online,and a million other players already tried the most ridiculous things to make it work and nothing has helped...soulcrushing
Thank you. fixed it for me. I was able to clear 2 CPs and 1 Legendary Mission (Back then I was only able to play legendary then it crashed right before the final phase). I am still playing right now and havent encountered crashes. Additional info:Windows 11 22H2 Ryzen 9 5900x undervolted to -23 all core RTX 3070 undervolted to 1755mhz at 825mv (Driver version 531.26) 32GB DD4 3600Mhz Game install location is in my WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD I play the game at optimized settings at windowed mode 1440p
@@androbourne I have a wierd problem whereas when I turned on DX12 it was okay and there were no crashes as people say. But then when I restarted my PC, the crashes came. I had to switch back to DX11 for it to disappear.
@@BOPISbewitya Look in the Div2 folder for a folder called Tools. Inside there you can find a DX repair tool. Run the DX repair and reboot your PC and see if it helps with that problem.
I recently went back to play Div 2 after a year's break, and have had some crash issues. Yesterday they had an update with loads of bug fixes - again. When I attempted to play today, the game crashed every 5 to 6 minutes over a period of 2 hours - outrageous. They either haven't got a clue how to fix their bug infested game, or they just don't care, or both. Hopefully your fix will do the trick (I'm on Windows 11), let you know. Cheers, Harry.

Try looking at the Reddit post. I've added additional popular fixes for the game. However only 2 really worked for me and one of which was my fix I recommend in the video.

Thanks for this! I wouldn't have thought about it! Another thing that seems to be a problem is Antiviruses! Most of them make games crash so it's also good to disable all scans for those 3 files from your antivirus

@@androbourne Ahh... well, good until today (15th), applied the latest Div2 patch and ended up after 40mins of play getting a hard lock; freeze, no CTRL-ALT-DEL joy, loud sound buzz and then a auto reboot. AMD driver crash app opened after booting up and I submitted report. Looks like something has changed, as I went back and re-checked all the exploit changes and none of them were affected- everything on your rec. changes was untouched, so I don't know what to think.

Downloaded the game after refusing to play on PC (Due to consistent crashing errors) for the better part of 2023. Will try this method in the hopes that it works.
Glad LTBuzzLiteBeer shared your video. I'm going to try and it and I'll reply in a week if my issues are resolved. I'm on a brand new high end system. ONLY division 2 has problems. And it had problems on my other system as well. Here's to hoping I don't crash anymore. Massive needs to get off their ass and fix this already, it's been years of problems; Hardcore mode is completely useless to try due to this kind of stuff.

Massive continues to release broken code which causes other types of crashes. You may be getting one of the other well known crashes that dont have any fixes. They admitted those crashes exist in TU15 and said we would have a patch. Its been a full season and we still havnt received a crash fix for those bugs yet. Have you tried looking at the reddit post? It had additional fixes lists on there. r that helps some people. P.S. Also go through your exceptions and make sure a windows update didnt reenable one of the sub settings or remove your exceptions. Normally this doesn't happen but I've seen it happen once before.
I'm back to confirm the fix. I've played for 3 hours yesterday and today for 2 hours and NO crash! It seems to really work. Awesome job. I'll try to share it as much as possible with the community. Thx again, brother, this was a life saver.
I just did what you told me to, going to test it, if it works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't, I'll refund it. Got the game less than 2 hours ago and already crashed twice! Haven't been able to progress literally at all. Going to trade it out for Bo1 on steam if this doesn't work, much respect nevertheless.
@@Eaez Make sure you really read the post. I recommend trying one fix at a time, not all of them at once. But yes there are just some unavoidable crashes caused by TU15 patch. Just need to wait for Massive to patch and they are slow as shit sadly.

I heard that is a known bug as well. I read a fix for it awhile ago but didn't have the issue so I don't remember what the fix is. Have you tried to Google it?
Nice man, I wish we could have an overarching videogame tribunal that can force companies to fix shit like this. It's insane that they released it and went 'Whelp, good enough' and then never bothered to even try to look into it.

Hey, i tried the fix, logged in my HC char and got crash in like 5 minute. Lost char again...did not work for me sadly, but thank you anyway because you helped many people. This is insane, at least they can check if it's a crash or a in-game death and avoid hours of work on a HC char just be lost in 5 minutes because of their incompetence.
Yeah to be honest I stopped playing HC because of issues. And to be fair I kinda stopped playing Div2 over all because how Ubisoft treats its players. I'm on a boycott of Ubisoft right now. They knew of these crashes over a year ago yet they still released it on Steam which is now full of negative reviews because of crashes... They are killing the game and give zero shits about its players.
@@androbourne someone gave me a tip today, run the game with windows task manager open, when game crashes quickly terminate division2.exe process, that way it leads you to the nearest base. It's my last try on this piece of shit game

After I went to play another game for like an hour or so, finished it and started Division2 again. It keeps crashing every 10min. or so again. I was able to clear 2 CPs and 1 Legendary Mission (Back then I was only able to play legendary then it crashed right before the final phase). I am still playing right now and havent encountered crashes.

Ryzen 9 5900x undervolted to -23 all core
RTX 3070 undervolted to 1755mhz at 825mv (Driver version 531.26)
32GB DD4 3600Mhz
Game install location is in my WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD
I play the game at optimized settings at windowed mode 1440p

@@androbourne I have a wierd problem whereas when I turned on DX12 it was okay and there were no crashes as people say. But then when I restarted my PC, the crashes came. I had to switch back to DX11 for it to disappear.
@@BOPISbewitya Look in the Div2 folder for a folder called Tools. Inside there you can find a DX repair tool. Run the DX repair and reboot your PC and see if it helps with that problem.

I recently went back to play Div 2 after a year's break, and have had some crash issues. Yesterday they had an update with loads of bug fixes - again. When I attempted to play today, the game crashed every 5 to 6 minutes over a period of 2 hours - outrageous. They either haven't got a clue how to fix their bug infested game, or they just don't care, or both. Hopefully your fix will do the trick (I'm on Windows 11), let you know. Cheers, Harry.
Yeah I stopped playing like 2 months after I made this video. With every update they keep breaking more shit and I was just done with it so I feel your pain.

Try looking at the Reddit post. I've added additional popular fixes for the game. However only 2 really worked for me and one of which was my fix I recommend in the video.

Thanks for this! I wouldn't have thought about it! Another thing that seems to be a problem is Antiviruses! Most of them make games crash so it's also good to disable all scans for those 3 files from your antivirus

While this didn't work for me, I appreciate the effort. Here's hoping the update coming in about a week will finally resolve the crashing.
We can only hope. They have been dragging their asses for a long I don't have high hopes its going to fix the problem for everyone sadly.

However, they just released a 4gb update for the appearl event that included "fixed the most predominant client crash" and now when I log in I'm stuck at 5 fps LOL. Massive has no idea wtf they are doing so except shit to uncontinue to break.

@@androbourne Ahh... well, good until today (15th), applied the latest Div2 patch and ended up after 40mins of play getting a hard lock; freeze, no CTRL-ALT-DEL joy, loud sound buzz and then a auto reboot. AMD driver crash app opened after booting up and I submitted report. Looks like something has changed, as I went back and re-checked all the exploit changes and none of them were affected- everything on your rec. changes was untouched, so I don't know what to think.

Glad LTBuzzLiteBeer shared your video. I'm going to try and it and I'll reply in a week if my issues are resolved. I'm on a brand new high end system. ONLY division 2 has problems. And it had problems on my other system as well. Here's to hoping I don't crash anymore.
Massive needs to get off their ass and fix this already, it's been years of problems; Hardcore mode is completely useless to try due to this kind of stuff.

Read the comments. It works for most people even to this day. But again it is not a 100% fix for everyone. Also read the subreddit.

I did this and it worked like a charm for a couple of weeks and now im back to having crashes.
Massive continues to release broken code which causes other types of crashes. You may be getting one of the other well known crashes that dont have any fixes. They admitted those crashes exist in TU15 and said we would have a patch. Its been a full season and we still havnt received a crash fix for those bugs yet.
Have you tried looking at the reddit post? It had additional fixes lists on there. r that helps some people.
P.S.
Also go through your exceptions and make sure a windows update didnt reenable one of the sub settings or remove your exceptions. Normally this doesn't happen but I've seen it happen once before.

I just did what you told me to, going to test it, if it works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't, I'll refund it. Got the game less than 2 hours ago and already crashed twice! Haven't been able to progress literally at all. Going to trade it out for Bo1 on steam if this doesn't work, much respect nevertheless.

But yes there are just some unavoidable crashes caused by TU15 patch. Just need to wait for Massive to patch and they are slow as shit sadly.

I heard that is a known bug as well. I read a fix for it awhile ago but didn't have the issue so I don't remember what the fix is. Have you tried to Google it?

Nice man, I wish we could have an overarching videogame tribunal that can force companies to fix shit like this. It's insane that they released it and went 'Whelp, good enough' and then never bothered to even try to look into it.
Yeah its even worse when they do a release on Steam like they just did with Div2... so now Steam users are buying into this shit and they dont know about these problems that wont ever get fixed.

Hey, i tried the fix, logged in my HC char and got crash in like 5 minute. Lost char again...did not work for me sadly, but thank you anyway because you helped many people. This is insane, at least they can check if it's a crash or a in-game death and avoid hours of work on a HC char just be lost in 5 minutes because of their incompetence.
Yeah to be honest I stopped playing HC because of issues. And to be fair I kinda stopped playing Div2 over all because how Ubisoft treats its players. I'm on a boycott of Ubisoft right now. They knew of these crashes over a year ago yet they still released it on Steam which is now full of negative reviews because of crashes... They are killing the game and give zero shits about its players.
@@androbourne someone gave me a tip today, run the game with windows task manager open, when game crashes quickly terminate division2.exe process, that way it leads you to the nearest base. It's my last try on this piece of shit game
Did this fix, worked for first day (8 hours no crashes). Next day with fresh log into Destiny 2, crashed with exact problem above.

Update: So I turned the game on, played like good 3 hours, no crash at all. After I went to play another game for like an hour or so, finished it and started Division2 again. It keeps crashing every 10min. or so again. Problem presist even when I have done everything you said in this video. I'm so frustrated at this point, I really like this game, but I can't even play it.
I applied the fix and i sincerely thank you mate, i hope this does work and the game lets me play without randomly freeze crashing .
