Hi Ben, thanks for the vid. Are you able to provide more insight into wave selection for different moves eg for crossstepping, noseriding, rail to rail turns? Cheers Pete
Appreciate all your videos and tips! I was wondering if you have any tips/insights for beginners on how to develop more body self awareness to be able to make adjustments while riding a wave. Even though I consider myself to have good body awareness (I’m a fitness instructor) when I get immediate visual feedback in a mirror, when I’m riding a wave my mind is just like “woohoo! don’t fall” and I just can’t seem to process more than like one thing at a time when I’m surfing, so it’s hard to make adjustments/ work on different things like stance, posture, turns etc. The ride time itself is often pretty short right so not a lot of data/time. I hope this question makes sense!
Hey Valerie! I think it usually comes down to both body awareness but also finding the root of the problem that may be throwing you off balance - big thing I tend to find in surfing development is working on some things without having the foundations those things rely upon mastered, so figuring that out can help a lot! I hope that somewhat helps/makes sense - if it was ever something you wanted/needed i do surf analysis coaching where I help people with this kind of thing, my email is longboardcoaching@outlook.com , only if that's something you're after though! Video analysis can be super handy for yourself to review as well! :) Thanks Valerie!

Best tip: be more selective. Of course, after a ten minute lull, bad waves start to look good, but I'll be using this tip. Thanks.
Yeah I find wave selection is an important skill in and of itself!! You’re very right though haha 🤙🤙🙏
