- I have noticed that many people don't understand how to hold Apple Pencil properly
So, here is "Basic rules of calligraphy on iPad" tutorial
Rule 1: Your hand must lay on iPad, never use gloves!
Rule 2: Create resistance with your hand, move your hand smoothly
Rule 3: Draw with your hand, not fingers. Only do small corrections with fingers
Rule 4: Always use sketch, don't draw without it
Rule 5: Set Calligraphy settings to 90%-100%
Some people still think, that such images can be created with "not-touching-the-screen" method, or with gloves, but it's a big mistake. Hand and glass are made for each other

I have no iOS 12 devices, unfortunately, so I can't test on iOS 12 :( I think, Downloading on your account in iOS 13 can help you to download the last compatible with iOS 12 version

Not really. You just need to assign it with your account on iOS 13. After that, you will be able to download last compatible version on iOS 11 & 12
