  • ►Replacing the oil in your high-performance BMW E46 M3 is the least you can do to ensure a properly performing engine. The relatively small bearings and tight clearances used in BMW's S54 engine require a specific oil and a regular replacement interval. Failure to perform changes on time can lead to clogged oil passages and the potential to starve the bearings of oil.
To ensure you have all of the right parts for this service, we've put together a BMW E46 M3 oil change kit. It includes 6 liters of fresh oil, a new filter, and the required seals, all backed by our Lifetime Replacement Guarantee. Simply enter your car's specifics into the "My Garage" tool on the FCPEuro.com home page and then enter "oil change kit" into the search bar.
In this video, Mike Hidalgo, FCP Euro's professional DIY'er demonstrates how to complete an oil change on the legendary BMW E46 M3.

Love the videos but the first step MUST be to warm up the engine for 15 mins before anything. That 10W 60 oil is THICK and it needs to be warm to drain out properly. I guess if you're letting it drain over night you could maybe get away with it but believe me it MUST be warm or you'll only get 5 liters or so out of the car. I know I do it every 5000 miles.
