Most people would say that to get a very symmetrical teapot you would use a potter's wheel because it's more precise than using your hands alone. Yet Here I see someone without a wheel who makes a teapot more perfect than if it were made by a wheel ✋ Woah 😨
pottery wheels aren't necessarily for symmetrical pots it's to make pottery easier be able to make more uniform pottery while yes, stuff made with it are symmetrical, that's just how spinning things work and pottery wheels allows you to make more intricate shapes and curves and while yes, they couldve also just use a pottery wheel to make the teapot, it does seem easier to do it the way shown in the video and there would be way more chances for the teapot to be ruined using a pottery wheel, one being the clay getting too soft and falling in on itself like an accordion
Can anyone tell me if there is a method for expanding the lid's small hole after the teapot is about 30 years old? My lid's hole never got poked through all the way when it was made and needs to be gently and carefully opened so it can let off steam. How can this be done? What tool and method if it's even possible? Thank you!
I have not tried this but I think the safest method to avoid cracking the lid would be to rotate a small drill bit by hand or very very carefully use a tool like a dremel. Did you find a method?
that's clay that's the color of clay there are many different types of clay with different colors that is one of them it's not chocolate it's fricking clay
@@beatmarsgo6972 wtf do you mean ripeness it's clay it's fricking clay it's dissolved volcanic minerals and anyways you bake clay in a kiln if you'd bake it fire, in an incorrect way (messing up the oxygen levels), it would end up gray to charcoal black I have clay that's brown and bakes darker brick red to brown depending on temperature
