Here, we see Count Dracula reacting very sharply, when laughed at by Jonathan Harker. Before that, though, we can see that he is very polite, cordial, and...dare I say it-Friendly. After his outburst of anger, he settles back down...and you can feel the pain in his voice. The pain that comes, with the loss of his Wife, Elisabeta, from ever-so-long ago....and the absolute shock that pulsed through his very body, when he saw the picture of the future Mrs Mina Harker! It's the exact image of his deceased Wife and Love, Elisabeta! He, in his wildest dreams, never expected such a thing to happen! One cannot help, but to feel sorrow for him. His entire frame longs for the time, when he and Elisabeta can be together again!
The fact that Dracula, an immortal, found his end as a result of the pursuit of something so characteristically human - love, is a humbling consideration.
I just watched the Trailer of Nusferatu 2024 and that accent is just amazing, thats why i came here to hear Garry Oldmans accent. He was good too though my fav film was the silent one from 1922.
here after watching nosferatu (2024). while i enjoyed the new take, it really just made me want to return to this version of dracula/orlock - a more romantic version, if you will, but just as terrifying
I find it both terrifying and awesome that this older form is him at his greatest strength, being as he's young during the day, and yet weaker. Very cool choice and way to flip the expectation.
This might have been shocking in the 90's but since the invention of tinder this dinner date pales in comparison to some of the 1st dates I've been on.

"I never drink.... wine." Oldman and Coppola created the most sinister embodiment of Dracula.
That line is from the Legosi movie

Maybe the most sinister but also tragic.
