People are so quick to judge,emasculate, and hate Ben, but they don’t realize that Ben represents the most relatable and understanding character. It’s easier and more common to flee than to fight back bravery for yourself and everyone’s survival. I'm happy TTG decided to give Ben more story rather than killing him in episode 3 or 2. They could've given Mark some story too, he had too good potential as a character. Or, better yet, he could have been part of the original group. I never understood why the group visited some air force place during the time skip, it's just pointless. Ben's optional death in episode 4 is not canon in my books, I always save him. Besides living humans are the most valuable resource in a world like this, you don't just drop people in to their demise just because they fucked up.

He outlived Katjaa, Duck, Doug/Carley, Larry, St. Johns, made it to the coast and was there when Lee got bit and the group went to search Clem. Hell, he has even more story than Katjaa and Duck combined. Ben is hated just because he made a mistake but he always tried to help the best he could. Because of him Lee, Clem and Kenny survived the meat locker because Ben informed them about how people turn. Yes, he is one of my favorite if not THE favorite character from TWD video game.

He's a coward. If he "always tried" for the better of everyone, he would've ran it past at least someone else in the camp. He did what he thought was better for himself. But you're right; he did outlive Carley and Kenny's family. It should've been him on the side of the road, though. Apocalypse-worn Carley would've been badass.

Man I gotta say, you did Ben justice with this video. I still don't get how so many people can hate him. It's unfair that he even gets compared to Gabe or Arvo, because the truth is he's nothing like them.
Throughout all of the Season 1 characters, Ben was my favorite. Ben is an underrated, relatable, basically unkown until hes pushed to that point, mistaken weak guy but also a joy, kind hearted, caring person because even if he got others killed, he did try and save others even though it wouldnt have lasted that long. Along with Ben, Gabe was also one of my favorites and it just sucks to see where the development went especially for Ben and was okay/decent for Gabe.

I never took Ben with me when I went to find clem. The symbolism of him pulling Lee up after Lee jumps is amazing. I’m glad I finally got to see the scene.

Like removing the hatchet in the door in Crawford, confessing the deal with the Bandits at the stupidest time, or leaving Clementine behind... But for me, he's one of the most realistically written characters in Season 1. Anyone can claim to be brave, but when it comes down to it, many would probably act similarly to Ben. Especially when they experienced what Ben experienced before he met Lee. Saving Ben (even if he dies later) was the right decision for me. It led to a strong conversation with Kenny. (who is my favorite supporting character^^) It showed both characters at their best. Once again. I do not defend his actions. On the contrary. But I think it's a shame that so many people hate a character without thinking about why he acts like that. Yes, he is an insecure boy who made mistakes. But he is definitely not a bad person, as he is called by so many... There are just too many characters in TWD that are really worth hating. Personally, I don't count Ben among them.
Where'd you find some of these voice lines? There's a few of them I've never heard before, like when Lee says "A boy named Ben was with us. I liked him, he was a good kid."

i liked ben really like he wasn’t a bad character he’s just a kid and it was hard knowing he lost everyone really and i wish they kept him longer for s2 at least it would’ve been cool if he was with kenny and kenny raised him to be stronger he would’ve had a good character development.

This would've been a cool detail, not impactful but cool. -If you chose Ben as one the people you opened up to about your past, it will lead to him gaining the upper lift to confess to you (first), about him and the bandits, during the train ride. -If you didn't tell Ben about who you were, you'll find out in Crawford along with everyone else.

This is...just so beautiful. 🥲 I never heard the quote him saying the group is like his family! That was sweet but kind of sad too... I've always loved Ben & avoided any gameplays where the OP dropped Ben (I would check ahead if they do before watching the entire gameplay). With time, encouragement, & guidance I'm sure he could've grown into a strong survivor. Watching this and reading the comments, really encouraged me to start working on the rewritten of the series keeping him alive (along with some others) as I have made in my head(cannon)and sharing it! Sorry for the long comment, it's unusual for me to but I was so moved here to do so! Thank you for your amazing work and for showing some love for our boy Benny 💕

One being where Kenny actually rips Ben off the pole and keeps him alive as best he can (it left on a huge cliffhanger)! Hopefully, I can do as well those stories and do good justice for him in the story Im working on! :D

Ben giving supplies to bandits wasn't even his mistake, him not telling about it to the group was. He bought them enough time for Kenny to fix the RV
