Those potentially dangerous calls in Lee's match were really fast - it is clear someone told the ref to watch for that shoulder crank arm bar because that is how Lee gets most of his pins. Not sure I agree with how fast the call was.

I wish Lee and the Iowa coach had given us wrestling fans an epic match between Lee and Young. It's why I think so highly of Kyle Dake. 4 national titles in 4 different weight classes.. and one coming against another super elite college wrestler in David Taylor. Lee is amazing and though he'd be jumping up one weight class I'd just love to see this match.

I really think Lee could win. Be interesting what their true mat weight is anyway after weigh ins.

@@1515cando he actually did wrestle above where he should have been, go back and watch the action and the way he wrestled in the first 3 seasons the last season his weight was too high and it showed he was slower than normal and only doing it to be the only one to do it at 4 weight classes. Kudos for getting it done but was really heavier than he should have been kind of like Matt McDonough of Iowa trying to ride the 125lb class. by his junior year he looked skinny and weak but they had Ramos at 133 so he couldnt move up theyd lose their 125 lb hammer. I believe he would ahave been atleaat 133 possibly 141 natural

It was cool to see Parsons connection to Spencer Lee, and the football coach at the match. All other sports know wrestling makes them better for their sports. When I coached, the football coach the next season would thank me, and say what did you do with him? He is so much better, and gets in to position before anyone else. One guy I coached did baseball. The first week of practice he came to me and said everyone on the base ball team is out of shape. I am running laps around them.

Stalling in college needs looked at. Guys can sit on top on hips and ankle rides stalling all day no call. But hand fighting and defending takedowns in the middle of the mat gets stall calls. I think its backwards as far as actual stalling goes.

Vespa wrestled in my section back in HS. He had over 200 wins which was crazy, and multiple state placings making him the pound for pound wrestler in the section, and ranked #1 in the state for his weight class. I’ve seen him wrestle absolute studs back in high school and he used to just play around w his opponents without breaking a sweat. He’d get pins in like 15 seconds. Seeing him get teched and chewed up by Lee just puts me in shock. Nevertheless, Vespa is a stud.
