    I absolutely love your log turner. It makes perfect business sense to me. Technology cost money to buy and maintain. And any business cost must be added to the price of products. It appears to me that the cost of labor is not an issue to you therefore investing in new technology would be just added expense. My career before retirement was Maintenance and Manufacturing director for a division of General Motors called AC Spark Plug. Cost of maintaining Laser welders and lost time was a huge loss of revenue. At the same time Gillette Razor was the #1 investment for Return on investment at 65% ROI. Gillette chose to use equipment built and bought in the 40's and avoid the cost of Technology and moved the production overseas where labor was not an issue. Although I prefer Made in the USA it was an excellent business decision. You and Mrs. Wallace (The SAW BOSS) keep on sawing, and I will keep on watching. Thanks for bringing us along.

    Love hearing that baby sing through the cuts. I'm running a 471 but it's the same tune over at our mill. That's the Lowest tooth count I've seen on a circle mill in a long time, lowest I've got is a 34 tooth 3 pattern but it cuts pine like a dream. Thanks for sharing and letting us tag along

    I happen to be another one that loves your log turner! It is as logical and efficient as any of the expensive turners and it is simple!! Even more impressive is Brittany!! She reminds me of my wife, in that she is my partner and will work her tail off to get any job done!! You better appreciate her, because these partners are very, very special!!

    Hiya,
    Another great video; thank you both. I love your 'Log Turner'. It's cheap, imaginative, and works well. What more could you want? I love the sawdust clearing/pilling system too. Again creative, and it works. Did you design it? Very clever.
    Your wife is a treasure; she reminds me of mine from before... How she uses leavers and balance to shift even heavy 6"x6" on her own; is lovely. My wife loved working with me in building electrical control cabinets and sound systems. She was always a great help, plus I could never flag if she was still going strong; unfair, hehehe.
    How long before your son wants to learn to? I've always loved working with my hands, so I became an electrician, but now making jewellery.
    Stay safe, Steve...

    Two questions that i have as a fellow sawyer of many years, why don't you wear hearing protection and why don't you stack your logs on bearers off the ground? I am not critizising just curious. Happy milling friend.

    • @wallacefarmandsawmill
      @wallacefarmandsawmill  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of our log stock is on a quick rotation. So its moved before being on the ground is an issue. Hearing protection is probably not a bad idea. I sometimes use it. Sometimes not.

    IDo you buy the logs from someone, or do you harvest them from your land? I have plenty of pine on my land, and was thinking about selling them to sawmills like yours and was wondering what the going price for pine is. I know diameter and length is a factor. If you do buy them, if you can provide some input on what I could sell them for, that would help me alot. Thanks,
