Hey, I love your content! I'm just wondering if you think it is possible to get a helpdesk job as your first job out of high school with no work experience and an A+ & Network+, or if you should first get some restaurant/retail job?
@@AlfredoTigolo that normally doesn't happen in a work environment. Unless the company is super disorganized. You can change the password using hiren. I made a video on hiren.
I do have one question and its not related to AD but its question regarding auto rebooting laptop without any notification. I am working as technical support and i do have 3-4 uesrs who are facing this issue and i also disable auto reboot option from computer and it works for 4 days and next day user complain same so can you please help on this
@@KevtechITSupport Got it. That's what I'm doing now. Your videos are great! How long did you work on your skills before you to felt comfortable enough in starting to apply for jobs? Also, what skills did you focus on the most starting off? I know AD is one. What basic ones should I really concentrate on? Thank you again for your time.
Hey Kev, I just had an IT interview and I wasn’t able to showcase anything I knew without crickets. I would tell the interviewer about the commands I know in command prompt, services, print spooler, updating drivers in device manager etc. and they weren’t impressed with any of that?? Do you have any recommendations in terms of what I should know in the future? I feel like all my preparation was for nothing. Thanks bud
@@KevtechITSupportno I mean like they weren’t really saying anything after I explained what I knew. I’m assuming they were more looking for Active Directory or something? I just don’t know what they were looking for in terms of what I should know for a help desk role. That’s why I came here because I think they may have been looking for me to know about Active Directory potentially. But I don’t know
To add to this, during interviews, I've discussed building my own homelab (via virtual box) and exploring different features in AD, they were very impressed! Definitely worth either adding to the resume or talking about at an interview. Shows you have initiative to learn
how can i pratice all of this using one computer ? should i install vmware on pc is it free version ? where can i install image ? can you make in detail video ?
Full crowd for Kev!!!
So refreshing. Thanks, Kev.
Awesome video Kev! Interviewing for a new role next week, this is a great refresher video
Thanks, good luck.
Thanks for the video Kev!
You are Awesome. Sir❤❤
Thanks Kevin
*Hey Kevin, can share your machine's configuration? How much RAM is enough to run two VMs simultaneously?*
I have 64 gb ram, 1tb ssd, 2080 ti 12 gb ram, 12 cores. But I have videos on how to do labs for free on the cloud.
can you show ad admin tasks from powershell?
My videos are for entry level folks. Don't really go over powershell here.

Brad did it. A guy we trained in jobskillshare. No degree, no certs, just hands on experience. He's 18 now.
@@KevtechITSupport That makes me feel better, I'm working on putting a resume together with the help of your videos! Thank you!
how would you reset the local admin password on a windows computer?
Crtl alt delete? Change password. Should be the same as changing a password on a regular computer.
@@KevtechITSupport what about the senario where the local admin password is unknown?
@@AlfredoTigolo that's not normal in a work environment. Password should be stored on a 3rd party tool.
@@KevtechITSupport So, there is no way to reset the local admin password if it is different or forgotten?

You can come to disord and ask for help if you like. I don't work in IT Support anymore.
Hey Kev, where/how did you get your skills from? Self study?

@@roy25555 I look at the job description and focus on what's being asked for. I learn fast with homelabs.

It was for Help Desk.
crickets? You mean tickets? I have videos on how to troubleshoot real life tickets. So does cobuman and jobskillshare.

@@KevtechITSupport okay thank you, is there anything else you recommend new people should know for help desk? 🙏🏼
After going through your IT support homelab, is that enough to put that on my resume?
Yes. People got jobs using my home lab playlist and resume with no tech experience.
To add to this, during interviews, I've discussed building my own homelab (via virtual box) and exploring different features in AD, they were very impressed! Definitely worth either adding to the resume or talking about at an interview. Shows you have initiative to learn
in help desk this is a valuable skill to learn. Most employers would like you to have this experience already or at least familiar with it.
I want to start IT career so give me an advice 🎉
That depends what you want to do. That question is too generic.

You can do it on the cloud using azure. I have videos on cloud labs.
@@KevtechITSupport I just want to learn all this , can you share the link ?
