There is only one thing I like more than a brutal game of starcraft... and that is a brutal game of starcraft commentated by that master of bloodsport, WinterStarcraft.
Damn right! I agree 1000%. The commentary can make even a boring game into the most entertaining thing ever.

as scary as zerg is supposed to be, nothing is as brutal as a good old terran world war
That first match made me think of how crazy some matches could be if someone made a mod where the natural resources don't deplete from mining.
I don't think that would be a particularly interesting mod to play or watch.
The dominate strategy would be to take 3-4 bases and then turtle into infinity. Literally only moving forward via walls of static defenses.
Sc2 works because more stuff beats less stuff. And you make more stuff by having more resources. And to get those resources you need to move forward and claim new areas because the resources you have are running out.
Not running out of minerals means players would hide behind defenses that are practically impossible to clear out. While their banks would grow into infinity ready to punish the other player for daring to expend their current army supply to make progress.
This game single handedly lowered marine battlefield survival time by a full second.
Lol! That's a significant decrease too. Wasn't the average lifespan of a Marine already measured in seconds?

Let me invite you to play "hitting the like button before Winter reminds you to do so". I played this game aproximatly 1343 times and its still fun. Playing this game for so long does not mean im winning every time, but im getting better.

My favorite game of Starcraft 1 I ever played was a casual "no rush 30 minutes" game with two players on each team.. I was Protoss and convinced my partner to rush to battlecruisers and just keep pumping them out and sending them to my base. I'd mind control them with my dark archons, and ended up with a fleet of bc so large you couldn't even see them all at once. Must have been a couple hundred of the things. I even mind controlled one of his SCV and teched the BC to cannon and 3/3 upgrades. Needless to say, when the buzzer went off and the carnage began, it didn't last long.

game 1 was some fucking colonization total war bullshit lmao, the entire map strip mined in 30 minutes and all spent on fueling an optimized 2 base + mule war machine

That was very entertaining. No more or less entertaining than it was hyped up to be, so kudos on the title. Really glad I watched the whole thing, even if game 1 was the most entertaining.
Its been so long since ive seen winter stream a tvt, i forgot just how much i missed it, by far the most fun mirror match up to watch, not even comperable.
The only SC2 cast worth watching. Seriously, I can’t watch other casters after watching this. They don’t have the sense of humor that makes this so great!
