Typically restaurants are for people who want to eat, not film and document; so they probably wanted to prioritize customers who were going to do just that. In Japan where I'm from, they wouldn't kick you out, but normally people would make a phone call and notify a staff if it was okay to film a youtube video, then they usually prepare a nice secluded table for you that wouldn't interrupt other customers. It's just an etiquette thing.
Me too, I don't want to eat at a restaurant that allows people to film inside. I go to restaurants to eat and relax and I can't relax when people are filming because it makes me feel uncomfortable. Don't film in restaurants, it's very inconsiderate towards other people who just want to eat and enjoy themselves
Some TH-camrs tend to lack self awareness when shooting in shared spaces. A while back, I saw an entire video by a travel TH-camr, ranting against Air Canada for asking him not to film from his first class seat.
Happy 2022 Amy! Nice video as always! You know u r still the kindest person I've ever seen on TH-cam! lol. No one has to explain anything for the owner. I know they just want you to feel better, or worry that you'd lose your good impression of this country, Guangdong or Shunde. Surely I don't believe you would since you're so smart, understanding and open minded. Regarding to the owner, she's just ignorant(Relatively I mean. Can be totally normal in some locals). I dont mean she's bad. She may well be the nicest and gentlest grandma and mother also. I guess she just simply fears the unknown. She didn't know what you were doing. And maybe other customers didn't either. You guys don't look like any TV news reporter though you were like taking footages. She might think "thats so weird. I bet others think so too. No wonder only one came in to sit after this. These two gotta go!". Some comments said it's about the portraiture right or spending too long inside. Nonsense really. Because she doesn't know anything about your right of staying there or any others' portraiture right. And one thing also, you guys can't speak cantonese. Jasmine is already foreign enough for the shop. And plus you? Come on, clearly the most one-time customer for them. They don't need any advertising. That's a WoM local business. Okay, to sum up, you guys are exploring really local places, which is amazing. But meanwhile you'll encounter some older generations in relatively closed or underdeveloped areas(believe me there're underdeveloped areas even in Shenzhen or Guangzhou). Mostly they're nice enough. But some just are sensitive and haven't seen much of this world. In that case, you can patiently explain that your work might benefit their business(if you manage to communicate, better talk to the younger ones). Or, you just offer to buy more and take away. :D
That was hilarious! lol I hope you two didn't take it too personally. The opening scene sounds like the owner/grandma was worried that other customer wouldn't be comfortable to come in becoz you were filming inside (as other people pointed out). Judging from their accents, most likely they don't know how to be polite in Mandarin, which came off as "kicking people out." But I don't think the grandma was being harsh on you too--especially how she put her hand on Jasmine's shoulder--to me, a cantonese dude, that gesture indicates an attempt to get closer to you (her way to show politeness and ask for your understanding, perhaps).
If you look closely from 13:22 - 13:24 the customer sat outside first looked at Amy's direction and then positioned a big bag on the table, I think she didn't want to be filmed 🤷🏻♀️

Why wouldn’t they dare, especially for tourists. They aren’t gonna lose business. I wonder what the actual reason she got kicked out was. “Taking up too much space” is such a poor excuse. I’m pretty sure a restaurant can kick you out for no reason at all, but there’s obviously a reason they were kicked out.

You can make ginger hit milk at home. You just need freshly sqeezed ginger juice (about 1-2 teaspoons for an average rice bowl) and milk. You heat the milk between 70-80 degrees Celsius and then pour it from a slight distance into the bowl with the ginger juice. Quickly stir it together a little and let it sit. Then it will solidify. Oh yes, If U want sweet flavour remember to add the sugar when U were heating the milk. Do not let milk boil tho. And HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Just a suggestion, perhaps call the restaurant ahead and ask whether you can shoot there as it will take a while (eg. more eating time than normal customer). Or go to the restaurant at quiet time, usually after lunch session, before dinner session.
Happy New Year, Amy! I love your videos. My mom loves them too. The first one I watched was the Hakka tulou. My mom started watching the ones filmed in Australia with your family. She loves your family too, so your family have contributed to your success in some part. She doesn't understand much of what you say, so she has to read the Chinese subtitles. The northern food you have shown is somewhat foreign to her, so she mainly sticks to Hakka and Cantonese food.

I like that Blondie show such real experiences, God ones and lesser good ones. same as everywhere in the world nothing is perfect. With these little bad funny moments we know that Blondie show what she really experience in China.
I have had very odd customers come to me and ask me to ask another customer to leave. The customer asking for this may have no logical reason to ask the other person to leave, but if they keep coming to you every 5 minutes INSISTING that you throw the other person out, it is hard to know what to do.
They were probably worried you were secretly filming their process of making the food to set up a competing business...Or worried some other shop had paid you to do it, since you said they were considered the best one at双皮奶。

Agreed. Personally I would not feel comfortable when someone on the next table was filing. You can see other guests in the video.
Absolutely right. Unfortunately, foreigners (especially white Westerners) don't think this way.
In Japan it's actually illegal. Never heard of this in China though.
My wife is from Shunde, and we’ll be going there, visiting the family, in July & August. Really looking forward to this holiday!
OMG, you guys did ask the right person!!! I can’t believe you guys know Jinbang. That is really the best shuangpinai you ca get in Shunde!!!!
Anyway, happy new year! Best wishes to Blondie and all of you.
The food is fabulous in Shunde. But it is easier to admire Jasmine--what a beautiful smile.
Yeah nicely observed.
you got it right! The grandma was speaking in Cantonese and she mentioned customers may not be going into her shop.
If you look closely from 13:22 - 13:24 the customer sat outside first looked at Amy's direction and then positioned a big bag on the table, I think she didn't want to be filmed 🤷🏻♀️
We need more of Jasmine, Amy should spend the Chinese New Year in Nanjing with Jasmine
Yeah she fit
Jasmine is always confident and natural in front of the camera.
Yes Yes, F Yes. That be what im thinking. That Girl is PREMIUM.

I didn't think I'd be starting 2022 watching a chef blow into a Goose's neck.. but here we are
HAHAHAHA! Happy new year!
yeah, and i still have no idea about "fuck a duck until it exploded" taste like😸
The goose didn’t seem to care 🦆
Jiangsu province is renown for producing beauties and Jasmine is of no exception. The roast goose and congee looks real delicious. My nanny was from Shunde and I used to eat congee like the one in the video when I was a kid. Thanks for bringing back good memories. I'm a Cantonese and I'm real sorry the shop owner had treated you that way.
Happy to see Amy and Jasmine visited my hometown. How dare the woman treat their customers that way. Hope you enjoy your Shinde trip rest of the days.
I think they do not like customer filming in their shop. Amy, you didn't mention you are a famous food vlogger? :P
@@DemonFox369 They're speaking Cantonese. She said if you do this(filming) people will not come in. It's because they're seated at the front of the store maybe?
@@ms.chuisin7727 Poor woman didn't understand the power of publicity. Amy and Jasmine would have done them a world of good, by promoting their business. Now, its going to be the opposite.
@@vanhocwong6689 People who did this usually already were in good business and doesn't need any promotions. But they should've managed the problem better, instead of kicking them out maybe just change their table to the one at a corner and tell them to please not be too loud.
The trips that don't go as planned are the best kind!! 😊 Happy New Year 🎊thank you for the great videos in 2021!! and excited about 2022
Please Blondie, upload more of your formidable videos. I just love them and admire you.
Here on a new year, I had decided Shun De as my next China destination! Happy New Year!
You won't be disappointed! The food was INCREDIBLE! Happy New Year, Hocku!
Best New Year gift ever-- extra video on Saturday❤️❤️❤️
Enjoy!!! Happy New Year, Vei!
Jasmine can make any food look so much more delicious and enjoyable
I am from Shunde and I am in Sydney right now. LOL. Welcome to my town and have a great trip! 😊😊😊
Happy New Year. Best chefs came from the Phoenix City of Shunde. The delta area of Pearl River has all the magical ingredients. It's a place of "fish and rice" of the South. You can spend years in this area and still haven't tried everything.
Nice! Hope you try the Black Sesame pudding dessert while you're in Shunde. Very popular in this region. My mom's favourite dessert there growing up (I just found it okay but I grew up in Canada). Happy New Year; it's still New Year's eve here, 5.58 PST, 6 hours to go. Deep freeze on west coast (for Vancouver) -5.
I'll say one thing. Jasmine needs to have her own YT channel. Think I'm in love.

Happy New Year ! Shunde is one of our best Canton food , it should be No 1! Enjoy!
🤣 Growing up in Shunde we actually never ordered from the menu but what we want to eat and most importantly what is "in season"
I can understand Cantones, actually she might want to say the filming will stop other people come in the house(I didn't heard the whole sentenses.) Some people can't understand or just don't like the filming thing, I can understand. You can just ignore it.
love the way you presented it.
Happy 2022 Amy and Jasmine!! 🍾🍷🥂🎉🥳💃🌺♥️🕉️✌️🥰You guys have great chemistry and make a great team. Looking forward to Jasmine joining you again on another food adventure.
If you enjoyed this video, raise your hand to show Blondie Amy your undying support ✋🙋🏻♂️👍
@@Luck1321 happy new year 💥💥💥
Just a suggestion, perhaps call the restaurant ahead and ask whether you can shoot there as it will take a while (eg. more eating time than normal customer). Or go to the restaurant at quiet time, usually after lunch session, before dinner session.
Wishing you both a year full of blessings and filled with a new adventure. Happy New Year 2022!
The looks on your guys face in the thumb nail could be a meme haha. Thank you Amy for spreading Chinese culture, god bless you.

My grandma from Shunde is the best cook ever.
“A whirlwind of textures and flavours...” nice 😋
I am in Australia. There are 2 Shunde restaurants in Sydney but their "goose" is really duck. Heard you said you liked roast geese in Australia. Where? Btw the prices and size of portion you shown are so good. Wish I can be there.

I'm always envious you're able to eat about everything without being picky.
If they would offer you fried bicycle tires you'd probably eat it and still find it tasty 😉😁
I am salivating watching you two going at it.
Good idea bring Jasmine into the video, she is so sweet catches most Chinese male's eyes. I am food lover, but my eyes was stick on her face instead of watching you guys eating. Good one.
The lady basically meant when people outside saw you two sitting by the window, they would be too shy to come inside. (Both of you are sooooooo beautiful!
Wow love the foods thanks for showing you are awesome. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year!!!
Some inconsiderate people can be rude especially when kicking customers out of their shop for no good reason. That particular person maybe having a bad day for some unhappy reason. Forgive and forget. Both you are shining bright 😃😚😚
Sorry about the bad experience Amy, some fast food stores don’t like ppl to stay too long in their store, 😂😂🤣
那个老板娘的意思是: 如果你们在那里拍摄视频,她那些客人就不会进店里吃东西了,那就会影响她做生意,所以如果你们不是继续拍摄她的店,她是不会叫你们走的,她是不喜欢你们拍她的店而已。
I loved this video!!! So enlightening!! And I love duck/goose too!!
They were probably worried you were secretly filming their process of making the food to set up a competing business...Or worried some other shop had paid you to do it, since you said they were considered the best one at双皮奶。
Jasmine is a nice young lady. Wishing her all the best. Love China!
Happy New year to you girls, this video was so funny 😜

Jasmine, omg. That's all I need to know. Great video. 👍
Another fabulous video with Jasmine! Look forward to more. Happy New Year Cheers from the land of -35C with ice and snow
Oh wow! Where are you that is -35c?????
Hi Amy, We are in Central Canada on the western prairie. The cold weather from the North Pole came down and have been stuck here for almost two weeks. It is sometimes called a polar vortex and -35C with wind chill factor is much colder. The city of Edmonton was -41C last week. We love your channel it is so funny, informative and entertaining, perfect for our arctic weather. Cheers Henry
Thanks for keeping the Canadian warm! Cheers🥶🥶🥶🥶😊😊😊😊
Tomorrow the forecast is -37C without the wind which we always have! Fortunately I will be watching BIC over and over and over again. Must be the food and the humour keeping us warm. Ps. Your Dad is very funny, just a few words from him will make me laugh! What a special man.
@@chuenyeelau I lived in Minneapolis for a few years, and I’ll never forget the winters. -30C was not uncommon in January, and with wind chills, it was much colder. Frostbite could be a concern when people didn’t know how to layer their clothing.

First time watching your videos and I love the vibe ... new subscriber for sure
When you guys were thrown out, that was the second time they asked you already. I could hear it in the video, they asked you not to take too long in Cantonese once already and you guys totally ignored them. So they did give you a warning.
At the beginning of the video, the Cantonese kinda sounded like "if you keep shooting, people won't come in here to eat".
Which is ironic that the establishment didn’t seem to have demanded they delete this “distracting” footage.

The shop owners loss.
@@davidw.2791 They may not know the intention or if or where it's being posted. China has a closed internet. Restaurant owners work all day almost every day. Especially the Chinese. They don't have time for internet videos in other countries.
This post should be higher. Just a lack of respect on your part 'Blondie in China'.
Old school owner. They used to have packed crowd when it's peak hours. They might even had bloggers taking up space before so they aren't really friendly towards them. Happens a lot for small shops. It can happen even here in Hong Kong.
You people are just lucky.
Really appreciate Good food 😘
Not really known for service there, we once got yelled at in a restaurant for not finishing chilli sauce. They scooped it out in a little dipping dish and we didn't eat it all and get scolded. We did say we only wanted a small portion 😂 Karens won't survive in China
This was cool! I liked the high energy and deep exploration of China!
Happy New Years 🥳 Amy Sending from home Sydney 🎉
I finally found one restaurant that serve goose in Melbourne. 1/4 of roast goose in Melbourne cost $48. A whole goose almost $200. But it is close for reno.
Amy: You must have well indoctrinated your parents on Chinese food. I couldn't get my US born son to appreciate Chinese food half as much as your dad. I have been to Australia six times, and many, especially those in West Australia, are quite reserved(??). My belated Bon Appetit!
Nothing more than happier to see two beautiful smiling faces in the first video that I watched on the first morning of the New Year. Jasmine is a real 識吃貨. Sorry to see your bad experience in that shop. Anyway it would just make you more famous but that shop infamous. I will surely not go to it when I visit Shunde so do the other TH-camrs like Nico. Anyway, Happy New Year to you two!
Ginger hit milk is nothing like double skin milk. Ginger hit milk is a science experiment gone right. The milk is heated to a very exact temperature, then the ginger juice is added, this causes a natural coagulation that renders the smoothest\softest\most delicious texture milk product known to man similar to tofu fa... But not.
If you press the water out of it, you get ginger mozzarella.
In many busy restaurants in SE Asia, you're allotted a slot, say 1 hour, and when your time is up, you're tossed out without too much ceremony. Naturally, after you've paid.
