I absolutely love this whole project! I’ve got myself an NA, 1986 in white. I’ve loved working on it. It’s my first car I fully own and it’s my first car I’ve gotten to learn from. I’ve done mostly maintenance because I bought it at such low miles (18k), but so far this Chanel has given me the confidence to really dive in and make smart decisions on what to change and what to keep factory fresh. I look forward to the future of this build and I look forward to my own future with this car.
Thank you for all work that has gone into these videos. I am especially glad I found this very detailed series as I just picked up an 86 Z31 NA and I learned a great deal from you. Thanks again!
Very impressive result Glen, she is a stunner! I bet it was super satisfying to take a machine with really good bones and restore it and improve it to your taste then pass it on to the next caretaker. White with Burgandy interior combo is close to my heart. I was lucky enough in my youth to have a ‘86 Porsche 944 Turbo from ‘01-‘07 with the same color scheme. I always thought it was very classy and yes, very 80s.
Thank you - I appreciate the comment. I actually enjoy the planning, the restoration work and learning / improving my skills more than using the finished project. I remember test driving a 1987 944 back around 1990. It wasn’t the turbo but it too was white with the deep burgundy interior. I ended up picking up a 928S but I always think that 944 would have suited me better. Cheers
very clean build sir. I hope to achieve this with my 50th AE
Thank you. Good luck with your AE - always liked that edition.
Really agree with your automotive philosophy. Thanks.
Thank you. That’s what I enjoy about a project like this - making it your own.
