It gets even creepier. One of the quest items from the Island Expeditions in BfA describes a vision. In that vision, you're drawn to a pool of black water. When you look down, you see the black goat staring back at you. Suddenly, you're the one trapped in the pool, while the goat is looking from outside. This means Y'shaarj is in the Void, staring into the mortal plain and waiting to make return. But it also means, to quote Bran Bronzebeard in the Ulduar trailer: "It's gonna come after us, and we're gonna be the prisoners".

Either it's a tiny, tiny, TINY universe, or there has to be billions, if not trillions of them. The vast, vast majority still hurtling through space.
maybe there is a correlation or mechanism between the magical powers eminating from a world and the inherent pull it has to attract void powers even from great distances like the outer reaches of the universe where the void lords reside. Its established that the titans originally found Azeroth because they sensed the immense arcane powers from across the cosmos, and maybe if old gods have some small ability to nudge their trajectory just a little bit as they are shot through space it would explain why 4 managed to land on Azeroth. Blizz writing in a nutshell. N'zoth was meant to be this incredibly secretive and unknown danger teased over the years with clues pointing to him and his kingdom under the sea - considered the weakest physically but also the strongest due to his planning abilities (similar to Yogg'Saron)... We had all this excitement going into it and they just patched him in and ended it all. Talk about anti-climax... Power of friendship beam = too strong for an old god. Sigh... For me, once they retconned how strong the old gods actually were I lost my respect. They had this amazing idea of how strong these old gods were and what an achievement it was to take them out then all of a sudden "No, actually they weren't really THAAAAT Strong". Once they said even Sargaras would beg for the mercy of death when confronted by them - now its like he'd rip them a new asshole. Uggh
@@jcmahrt5100 - If I remember correctly, part of the warrior class hall story is uniting some titan keepers with Odyn in the Halls of Valor, and this quest includes a trip into Ulduar where Yogg-Saron still has some small influence and can summon a few Faceless to attack.
maybe not lazy, i have whitnessed some things where the writers of games etc "said in interviews" "oh yeah char X is dead dead dont worry" just to later reveal they planned their return, and the "false" outing as "dead dead" was just to build up that unexpected turn thing since we as the players "already killed them" . i mean Andrew Hussie with Homestuck, Scott Cawthon with Fnaf and another smaller franchise i looked at that i dont remember the name of rn bc im bad with names and numbers, did verry verry similar things just to keep their fans on their toes. sadly the Homestuck took a drastic BS turn when fanfiction writers literally replaced the original author, in fnaf scott literally hid a secret noone figured out so he patched it away becouse he wasnt glad with the presentation any longer, we still dont know what it was. i mean something like that is what i would deffo do, tho i would do it a bit more sneaky then blizz.
The Paragons were against their old queen because to succumb to the Sha of Fear and fall victim to its influence is to show weakness. More than anything, even more than their loyalty to the Old Gods, the Mantid hate the weak.

Looking at his chin tendrils and some of his goat like features makes me wonder if he was somewhat responsible for the emergence of the Eredar/draenei through direct or indirect means. N'zoth had his agents doing his bidding while he was still imprisoned, so did C'huun. Y'shaarj surely would've been able to extend his reach beyond Azeroth as he was more powerful. "Face tentacles?! We DO NOT have face tentacles. That would mean that Draenei are emmisaries of the void, infiltrating your society so we can bring about its end! And I'm _sure_ you're not implying that, _are_ you?"

It's a shame how they dealt with C'thun and Yogg. The just left a note on the fridge "btw. The other old god's are already dead" after years of saying they were just pushed back into their prison. So much potential wasted ...
Blizzard royally screwed up and ruined Old Gods so bad that it’s honestly depressing. The underwhelming delivery of N’Zoth was monumental and catch all statement of saying they are all officially dead after saying for the longest time that we just killed manifestations of them before is such a horrible retcon and writing. Blizzard used to care about good storytelling and having mystery in WoW. Now it’s been shot to hell and it basically started after Wrath. I love this game so much and the storytelling anymore just makes me sad because of how awful it is.
I’ll never forgive Blizz for rushing the N’zoth fight to the point where we literally fought a mini nzoth head inside nzoths head… fucking pathetic. Then bam laser beam, then bam down goes the eye of Sauron. The carapace of nzoth boss was supposed to be part of the final fight. So sloppy. I might never get over it.
I always wanted the story to go in a direction where the Old Gods completely take over Azeroth and we need to deal with living in a ruined world full of eldritch horrors.
That was what I really hoped for as well, can't they just have at least one expansion where the current "big bad evil" is clearly winning? Especially the Old Gods. I want my Black Empire dammit!!
It's sad that we haven't fought or seen that God anywhere in the game, and we propably won't. Even Sargeras himself which was mentioned since Warcraft 3, was shown eventually in an in game cinematic. All that backstory for the most powerfull of the old Gods, and all we have is one artwork?
@@Nobbel87 Never heard it spoken by any character in-game, but I only played Hearthstone, never played Warcraft or WoW, so just always seemed weird when I heard someone say Yasheraj instead of Y'shaarj. Thanks for the clarification.
I didnt think we ever actually killed the old gods, just locked them away for a while before they would resurface. Always been told defeating them was nearly impossible, especially considering the implications it had on azeroth.
Even Nobbel says 4 old god. When you play classic there is an ingame book telling you that there are 5. Either blizzard retconned that shit like the whole helm of domination story from wotlk for shadowlands or they will be slick about introducing a 5th after claiming there are only 4 for a long time now. Inb4 Xal'atath was the 5th old god all along.
It's been less then 1min into the video but did Anyone else hear "before the mortal racists" instead of mortal races? Both definitions are not wrong 😂😅
Perhaps is Ysaarj locked up in the maw, empowering the Mawsworn. Seems a coincidence the Sha are the exact oposite of the Bastion paragon, and the Mawsworns first paragon is that of doubt.
So wait - if Y'Shaarj is the one that got ripped out of the planet and caused the Titans to need to make the Well of Eternity - who is the 5th old god? It's always said in lore that there were 5, and one was defeated before the imprisonment was required and the Well was created. Is there just 4 and Y'Shaarj is 2 in 1 to make the unnamed 5th? Or am I missing something?
You know I think there is a lot more lore to tell. I think Xal'tatath found Azeroth first, and was doing a symbiotic thing with her, then Yash and the others came by, teamed up on her and devoured her then locked her in the dagger. Ever notice how she showed no love for the other old gods despite being from the same faction. Her message "Tt is ironic that the weakest of us may be the ultimate victor. C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y'Shaarj, and... well. Only one would remain to consume the world, that was always meant to be. " Notice she cut off after the word 'and' ? I have a feeling we have 1 more old god on Azeroth and we have yet to see what she is going to do.
Two thing Y'Shaarj clearly has 9 eyes in the art Weren't the Sha confirmed to be from Shaohao cleansing his burdens and Y'shaarj's curse on the land manipulating emotions and spawning the prime Sha from Shaohao?
“The beast with seven heads” doesn’t need to be literally interpreted with having 7 heads...The old god hungered on the emotions and the most used in MoP are the 7 deadly sins - bad emotions. Not a very voidy thing to do...but who knows what these Old Gods actually are...maybe they aren’t at all related to void 🥸
The whole "Yog is gone, C'thun is gone, because N'zoth is gone" makes no sense. That's like saying: Van Cleef is dead, Vanessa too now without actually having killed them (yet). The whole expansion ended so abruptly, it's a bit underwhelming.
Y'Shaarj felt especially creepy when he was described as "the black goat that stares from outside the window".
like lovecrafts "the black goat of the woods." the most ripped off man in history lol.
Black Phillip.

i refuse to accept the old gods are just gone from azeroth, so much build up for a character we interacted with once, stupid sexy wrathion, to shoot a laser beam and everything is back to normal after 5 expacs of hype to this moment
Uggh
Yogg is literally part of a legion quest, Blizz is just getting lazy with the lore and their storytelling. I miss the good old days.
Which Legion quest would that be?
@@jcmahrt5100 - If I remember correctly, part of the warrior class hall story is uniting some titan keepers with Odyn in the Halls of Valor, and this quest includes a trip into Ulduar where Yogg-Saron still has some small influence and can summon a few Faceless to attack.
@@mokarokas-2138 Actually, it was part of the Legion pre- event, where Magni takes Bran, Khadgar, and us into Ulduar and reveals Azeroth is a Titan.
@@stormstrider1990 - Thanks for the correction! ^^
maybe not lazy, i have whitnessed some things where the writers of games etc "said in interviews" "oh yeah char X is dead dead dont worry" just to later reveal they planned their return, and the "false" outing as "dead dead" was just to build up that unexpected turn thing since we as the players "already killed them" . i mean Andrew Hussie with Homestuck, Scott Cawthon with Fnaf and another smaller franchise i looked at that i dont remember the name of rn bc im bad with names and numbers, did verry verry similar things just to keep their fans on their toes.
sadly the Homestuck took a drastic BS turn when fanfiction writers literally replaced the original author, in fnaf scott literally hid a secret noone figured out so he patched it away becouse he wasnt glad with the presentation any longer, we still dont know what it was.
i mean something like that is what i would deffo do, tho i would do it a bit more sneaky then blizz.
The Paragons were against their old queen because to succumb to the Sha of Fear and fall victim to its influence is to show weakness. More than anything, even more than their loyalty to the Old Gods, the Mantid hate the weak.
Hey Nobbel, I know you’ve busy with lore and speculation of Shadowlands but you ever thought of doing a lore of Hamuul Runetotem? For becoming a hero in the next hearthstone expansion.
"Corrupting fully-grown titan was proven to be impossible"
Sargeras:
Ehh.. they are pretty different, Sargeras wasent 'corrupted', he just wields the power of Fel energy. He is just extremely stubborn, extreme and stupid.
@@iHaveGrudgeAgainstUT - Let's hope they don't try to spin it so he was actually corrupted by our "unseen guests" the dreadlords... Shadowlands seems to be taking that story in some uncomfortable directions.
@@mokarokas-2138 I think its clear that Sagaras was 'MANIPULATED' and not corrupted. Its like making friends with doggey bankers who give you exagg
erated informations and cause you to make decisions beneficial to their agenda
I’m pretty sure we while find out the Titans are as evil as they are good and stories they have told us are just stories to paint them in a good light
Oh god no that wouldn’t make sense
@@JamailvanWestering why not? People who think they hold all the power think you could never find out the truth. Remember history books are always written by the winners

I hope ysharraj comes back as a boss, his character form will be awesome and badass
Once there was an old god named Y'Shaarj.
And then there wasn't.
The end.
blizzard -titans cant be corrupted lets lets corrupt Sargrus.
Why wouldn't the Old Gods appear in Shadowlands? They are not demons so they wouldn't be revived in the twisting nether.
i love your videos but i actually get a bit triggerd by alle the s you hang on to the words idk why i get triggerd by that but your content is still great
Much love from Ohio good sir.
🙏 ❤
since dreanor an outlands have shown examples of old ones on other planets (later on were shown a 100% corruption planet looks like during a boss fight) an since the natherzeim have shown the ability to enter an leave at will through the shadow lands. Does taht mean the old ones too can enter an leave it at will or perhaps has one of them even decided to set up shop there.
A Video On " Xalatath The Fifth Old God"

"the birth of the beh-lack empire"
Are all the all gods gone?? I thought there still was 2 left
C'thun and Yog are still in their prisons. Whether or not N'zoth is dead dead is debated.
Old Gods should be relevant again in some way. Weather its another one coming to Azeroth(Ev en if its way smaller to make it fit on the planet) would be fine . Find some way Blizz
Yess thank you i needed more episodes. ♥️ When I click on ur channel it says there's like 1500 episodes but when I go on your channel it adds up to around 700 or so, is there more wow lore videos I'm missing? I've watched every shadowlands, I've watched chronicles 1-2-3, Nd lore quick fixes. I love your videos so much they are super clear fun and interesting with always a true passion of humor from your self thrown inbetween.
I see explosions in a video, i like.
It's a shame how they dealt with C'thun and Yogg. The just left a note on the fridge "btw. The other old god's are already dead" after years of saying they were just pushed back into their prison. So much potential wasted ...
Prophet
I would love an expansion were the resurrected him to his true form. Also I never understood why we help the mantis or nerubians in Northern
There is a 5th one somewhere so 🤔
I’ll never forgive Blizz for rushing the N’zoth fight to the point where we literally fought a mini nzoth head inside nzoths head… fucking pathetic. Then bam laser beam, then bam down goes the eye of Sauron. The carapace of nzoth boss was supposed to be part of the final fight. So sloppy. I might never get over it.
We mortals still fear, hate, doubt and despair.. and most of all, we feel pride. Y'shaarj is far from dead...
"H.P. Warcraft"
Im sure there will be more old god stuff in dragonflight with nozdormu and friends
Why does everyone pronounce it "Yasheraj?" It's spelled Y'shaarj, which should be pronounced "i-Sharj."
because that's the pronounciation they've given it as heard from characters like Wrathion.
@@Nobbel87 Never heard it spoken by any character in-game, but I only played Hearthstone, never played Warcraft or WoW, so just always seemed weird when I heard someone say Yasheraj instead of Y'shaarj. Thanks for the clarification.
@nobbel i sent you message from facebook about mysterious hidden hero you might wanna dig in ^^ check out please
Do yog sarron!
I didnt think we ever actually killed the old gods, just locked them away for a while before they would resurface. Always been told defeating them was nearly impossible, especially considering the implications it had on azeroth.
To me it’s disappointing he is the most powerful, looks like a catfish that came from Chernobyl
Old gods dont go to the shadowlands when they die
yasharaj? i thought it was Y'Shaarj
Old gods couldn't corrupt a full grown titan but dreadlords could? Dreadlords more powerful than Old God's confirmed?
Not the same level or type of corruption. Dreadlords are just manipulative and persuasive. The old gods want to reconstruct the beings entirely.
I miss the old gods bfa did the old gods no justice
N'zoth? that you fought on bfa
and n'zoth was always considered the weakest of the old gods... people say that we didn't win on bfa and are trapped on a n'zoth spell
@@makemwet2488 remember though with Xal's talking she always referenced N'zoth.
Bro the MoP Cinematics look way better than our current ones wtf
Comment for the greater old gods👌
Two thing
Y'Shaarj clearly has 9 eyes in the art
Weren't the Sha confirmed to be from Shaohao cleansing his burdens and Y'shaarj's curse on the land manipulating emotions and spawning the prime Sha from Shaohao?
“The beast with seven heads” doesn’t need to be literally interpreted with having 7 heads...The old god hungered on the emotions and the most used in MoP are the 7 deadly sins - bad emotions.
Not a very voidy thing to do...but who knows what these Old Gods actually are...maybe they aren’t at all related to void 🥸
At their full power they are stronger than Titans so. I bet they are coming from some outside Universe thing
What if maldraxxus is the body of yshaaraj ?
What why🤣
I do wonder if we ever will get to see a corrupted titan that was corrupted somewhere else where the old gods actually succeeded
Sargeras was successful with corrupting Argus...might be possible for other planets as well
@@OrangeHead28 i will say that Argus was more demon corrupted rather then by the void which sargeras hated so would be interesting to see more of it
@@nagashtheundyingking4404 Very true - we will have to wait and see I suppose
Wait so the old gods are dead not just defeated?
But whats the story behind everyone pronouncing the name with an I in it?
I figured it was just Nobbel's accent - I thought it would be "EE - SHA ARJ"
The whole "Yog is gone, C'thun is gone, because N'zoth is gone" makes no sense. That's like saying: Van Cleef is dead, Vanessa too now without actually having killed them (yet).
The whole expansion ended so abruptly, it's a bit underwhelming.
and people say Pandaria was not a dark expansion.......
