When Rick said, "Most stringed instruments make you weep, this one makes you mourn", the first thought that came to my mind was: Wait till you hear the shehnai (Ustad Bismillah Khan). Every time I hear a shehnai I cannot but marvel at the depth of emotions it makes me feel. No doubt sarangi is a beautiful instrument and Pandit Ram Narayan's playing is out of this world. But the rabab, uff...I feel so lucky I am born in this beautiful country. The rudra veena, the vichitra veena, the sagar veena, the mohan veena, damru, manjira, daphli, khartal, morchang, even using ghunghroos as instruments during keertans, are all so beautiful. Perhaps they should also listen to some kirtans, one of my favourites is Haye Mhari Heli Re by Dayaram Sarolia (Ajab Shahar Project). Also Madhup Mudgal's Avdhu So Jogi Guru Mera and Pandit Channulal Mishra's Dimik Dimik Damru Dam Baje.

When things were at their very worst:
2 Suns, Cross in the sky, 2 comets will collide = don`t be afraid - repent, accept Lord`s Hand of Mercy.
The first sign - the Earth will spin faster.
The second sign concerns the sun, which will loom larger, brighter and begin to spin.
Scientists will say it was a global illusion.
Beaware - Jesus will never walk in flesh again.
After WW3 - rise of the “ man of peace“ from the East = Antichrist - the most powerful, popular, charismatic and influential leader of all time. Many miracles will be attributed to him. He will imitate Jesus in every conceivable way.
Don`t trust „pope“ Francis = the False Prophet
      - will seem to rise from the dead
      - will unite all Christian Churches and all Religions as one.
One World Religion = the seat of the Antichrist.
Benedict XVI is the last true pope - will be accused of a crime of which he is totally innocent.
      - banking collapse was deliberately masterminded by the Antichrist
      - Antichrist will step in and create a false peace in the state of Israel by joining them with palestine in an unlikely alliance.
      - „He will recite extracts from My Teachings, which he will passionately proclaim from every secular stage in the world, until people sit up and take notice of him.“

    • @sarangistudent8614
      @sarangistudent8614 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Anshul there are different playing styles and ways to play the sarangi. You might be able to modify your instrument to raise the bottom main bridge that sometimes alters the position of the playing string allowing you to play with the actual nail rather than the cuticle of the finger nail; much less painful and allows you to play for long periods of time without damaging the skin on your fingers. I use thick pieces of leather cut from a belt to raise my bridge. Have been learning for over 10 years now

I tell you a very funny story. In olden times (when audio recording was not there), many famous classical singers did not allow SARANGI player to play along with them in concert ( reason:- SARANGI is an instrument which can replay almost everything sung by the singer, the singers used to fear that their secret AALAPI may be picked up by the SARANGI player and later will be given to another singer to copy. Very funny. Here I am just highlighting the range of SARANGI as an instrument.

It's has a very soulful sound which hits your heart and something is very extraordinary about this instrument .....idk how to explain that.....I really will like it if you react to any full video of playing sarangi whether any raga or other composition. Random fact: Dhruva’s father was Shri Pannalal Ghosh, a famous flautist who was a student of sarod maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan’s father, Ustad Allauddin Khan. Dhruva’s brother was a tabaliya.

For more resources and information on the sarangi, it’s recent masters and lots of amazing videos and sound clips from these incredible musicians (including many from Pt Dhruba Ghosh himself), please do check out Nicolas Magriel’s sarangi website. Has many personally recorded meetings with these sarangi masters.

Have you done any episodes on sarod? That’s the Indian adaptation of the rabab. It has steel strings, no frets, and is played with the nails of the index and middle fingers.

Doesn't "Thade Rahiyo" for Pakeezah have an excellent example of the sarangi at the very beginning? Maybe react to it as it's classic song and movie as well...
