Shatter is decent into depression because the person she loves seems to be lost in darkness. mErcy is the transformation from depression to loss of sanity and iNSaNiTY is the madness and loss of self. and If you include the frost mix of iNSaNiTY you have transformation back into sadness and disappointment that will then lead back to Shatter.
It's still very interesting that they *could* connect. All knowing that mErcy was a different person does is tell us it might not be or probably wasn't supposed to. {But still}
