    - IS SOCCER PLAYERS' ILLUSTRATIONS CONSIDERED AS A COPYRIGHT OR TRADEMARK?

    • @PhilipAnders
      @PhilipAnders  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say mostly copyright but some high profile soccer players will probably protect their brand with trademarks as well. Generally I would just stay away from using sport personalities or celebrities in your designs, it's not allowed.

    Philip, I have a request for some advice or a new video by you. :)
    I am not yet on Merch By Amazon (MBA).
    I have watched several of your videos where you mention MBA.
    When I took a look at MBA yesterday, for a "Key Word" topic I am considering, I noticed that the "BRAND" names for the sellers seems to be a mix, with some apparently real brands or store/seller names (e.g. XYZ Shirt Company) and others appear to be simply key words such as "Funny Tshirt Father Sarcastic Jokes Humor Adult" and similar.
    My observation is that the "BRAND" (the line that appears just above the title on the Amazon listing) appears to be used for key words, instead of a store sellers name.
    I would appreciate some guidance on this.
    I was under the impression it is important to try to create a POD "Brand" or name that customers can identify and follow. I know that most of the shirts seen on MBA are not from a "brand store" page (except for some like Disney, Marvel, etc.).
    But, I also saw a couple of "Brands" that appear to have a very slick or professional looking "store front" page that has their shirts on the MBA site, but contains stuff like a banner graphic (sort of like Redbubble does), along with their shirts (thumbs), and even more content such as their design or selling process etc. In short, it looks more like a "branded websiite " for that seller or Brand.
    So, I suspect those "brands" with their own MBA sites must be the biggest sellers. Or they pay for those pages? Or they are big "advertisers" within MBA? Or something that gives them the "store front look" for their brand???
    If you know, please advise on this (video or text reply).
    I have not yet applied to MBA for an account. And I was initially thinking I should pick a "brand name" for my MBA store. But after seeing so many "BRANDS" that appear to be using just key words, I am confused on what is best to do to make sales on MBA. Please advise. Thanks.

      I think the brand store fronts are something you get invited to if you are a top seller or have a registered brand. Not too sure how it works but you don't need to use a specific brand name unless that's your goal. Most people on amazon probably don't even look at or care for the brand they are buying from so that's why everyone fills that slot out with keywords. I can't tell you which is better but I have a keywords and listing guide for MBA which shows you my workflow :)
      And btw I think the sooner you apply to MBA the better, it takes a little while to get accepted anyway. And if you don't get accepted first try then you have to wait again with the 2nd application etc.

      @@steadmanuhlich6734 No worries, and also in response to the question you previously had about file names and folders. Best practice would be to create a new folder for every Niche: Gaming, Fishing, Beekeeping etc. Create your designs and save them in those folders as PNG files, naming them after the actual design content (best fishing dad.png, fishing legend.png etc).
      I save my Adobe illustrator document which holds all designs in vector format in the same folder in case I want to re-use or edit them later.
      For alternate colour versions create new subfolders within each Niche folder called "BLACK" or "RECOLOURED" for example.
      For scalable designs I make folders called "Just a Girl who loves Hobby" and then name all the files after the actual hobby.
      Just thought I would let you know as I don't think I will make a video about it

    • @PhilipAnders
      @PhilipAnders  ปีที่แล้ว

      there is no set number. You just need a variety of fonts to suit different styles/niches ;)
