- This video shows a removeable, simple to build, yet effective bike rack for the back of your pickup truck. The assembly uses parts found at any local hardware store and can be built using common hand tools. The design allows for changing the spacing between bikes to make room for additional bikes or more storage. This works great for transporting bicycles and prevents damage. Simply remove the bike's wheel and secure the fork in the mount.

Best DIY solution I've seen. Thanks for sharing!
Steveo, thank you for the compliment! I really appreciate it.
Thanks this is by far the simplest, most elegant, and seemingly secure DIY rack I've seen so far, and I've watched a lot :). I'm going to give it a try.
Awesome! Thank you!
Genius!! I was thinking of building something similar, but this definitely helps! I'm surprised no companies figured this out yet (all the bed racks are garbage lol!)
Thanks again!
Thank you for the comment, Giorgio! It's a simple yet effective build. I'm happy to share the idea with others. Glad you found the video helpful.
Nice mount with the strut channel!
Thank you for the idea. Looks amazing
Best one I've seen so far
Thank you!
Nice job!
Thanks, Craig! It's worked out well.
Perfect and exactly what i was looking for!
Great! Thanks for the comment, Eric.
Great idea!
Thanks, David.
What size fork mount did you buy?
Hi Priscilla. I purchased the 100mm. Our bikes have standard width tires (i.e. not fat tire bikes).
@@BlackHoleDIY thank you! Gonna make mine this weekend!
Any idea for a bike with drop-down front axle?
Hi Count. Wish I could help, but I'm not familiar with what that is.
@@BlackHoleDIY my bad, I think it's called quick release, the older stuff. It's not the thru-axle like your bikes that you can remove the bolt that secures the wheel and the fork.
And my solution, which I thought of just after asking you a question, is to get a bolt with some washers and a wingnut.
Let me know if you have better ideas though. Thanks
I need better ideas; cannot find wingnuts larger than ⅜.
Hmmm... I think 1/2 wingnuts can be found at Lowes/Home Depot either in the store on on the web.
