    3 months ago I bought gf66 but with the 11th gen. Its very very good, I run engineering simulation and complex calculations, also I code a lot of AI programs, the only disadvantage that I noticed is the loadness of its fans during the serious stress.

      You could get a cooling pad. Bit of elevation and more cooling should help in its entirety.

      No need, the temperature doesn't exceed 80 degrees if the fans spin at 6000RPM (which is rare, the usual case in summer is around 2500 RPM and 55 degrees)

    I got this one. For gaming i’m satisfied, just some bad point i should give:
    Fan sound -too noisy (must use headphones)
    Computer is quite heat when gaming
    But in general, enough for me for gaming

    I have a few questions:
    1. Does it have any sort of fan control?
    2. It didn't notice the price did I miss it or did you not mention it?
    2. any upcoming videos on new AMD laptops?
    3. any videos coming on intel i5 models?
    Anyhow, very nice review thanks a lot.

      All MSI laptops has their own fan control (with intel 10 gen and lower is usually at set fixed control).

    It's nice to hear about an economical PC/laptop.
    I was a little critical of the sound backing a while ago, and I'm just posting to say I've noticed the new varieties of melody. To me it's a great improvement. I'm not bothered by the music, and can just listen to the latest hardware reviews.

    It's a great laptop if you're a graphic designer, better than a gigabyte laptop and MacBook, it has more io port, better placement of the io and great value. Recommended if you're a graphic design student or professional graphic designer who has a tight budget for a laptop.
    I've been using it for almost 1 week, 1st I upgraded the ram to 64gb (2x 32gb) & added 1tb ssd. Before the upgrade, the Pugetbench score for the Msi laptop is 600+-. After the upgrade, the score it is 1100+-. For the after effects score, it is around 900 to 1000 which is quite impressive. I don't care if the laptop is quite noisy, as long it can handle the creators app, I'm fine with it
    If you're doing Photoshop or Lightroom 32gb ram will do. But if you're a video editor (after effects, premier pro, davinci & etc) 64gb ram is a must.

    Not bad temps considering it was pushing 45w in game and at 23 degree ambient...cooling pad and a cooler room it would be fine although I agree MSI could tune things up a bit with their profiles.

    Thanks for the review Nada 🥰👍😆😆 I personally pay a little more for a quality screen on a laptop as these “entry level” budget screens are generally horrendous for viewing imo! I think swapping one USB 5GBps for a few USB 2.0 would be better as many people connect peripherals to their gaming / home use laptops such as kb, mouse & headset etc which adds some expandability to this laptop.

    • @blue4059
      @blue4059 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The display used to be much better (sRGB 300nits) few years ago, but they downgraded on quality ever since 144Hz refresh became the lowest default last year.
      I would suggest Lenovo Legion 5 and HP Omen models for good low-end gaming laptops with a "usable" budget display in 2022. Also look into non-gaming laptops like Lenovo "ThinkBook 16p" that usually don't cheap out on the display.

    I bought this machine to edit and use in 3 with blender. This machine is 200 times faster than a tenth generation xeon that I work with. My katana goes with the 3070 and renders my designs in seconds. It's plastic and looks like a basic work Lenovo laptop. But when you turn on the beast kkkkkk it beats many machines, believe me. It's not the best screen, but I play very little for me and it suits me very well. All I had to do was open a 3D project and render it in seconds and it paid for itself. My machine at work uses nvidia quadro is very fast but very, very slow next to this one.

    Thanks for the review.. Still, in 2022, pcie gen 4 and DDR5 are the best options for gamers or content creator . And, If we are talking about budget gaming laptop,I think ASUS Tuf still the best improvement year by year with pcie gen4, ddr5 and RTX 3060 140 watt.. It is massive upgrade for budget laptop..

    • @vmafarah9473
      @vmafarah9473 ปีที่แล้ว

      3070 85w will be slightly faster and 3060 105w, due to extra cuda and can last due to 8gb Vram. Newer cpu will be just 5% faster than last gen in games on average, but may be faster in cpu titles.

    So, this is just a cpu refresh over the last year's model without anything else which is kind of disappointing where all its competitors like Acer Nitro 5 or Asus TUF A and F series, do have some kind of upgrades in design and base display quality. For example, the budget TUF series now coming with a 240 Hz panel with 99% sRGB for RTX 3060 model, added a mux switch and has full 115W + 15W TGP configuration, a nice bump over last year's 80W limit. And it's actually $100 less than this MSI Model in USA.

    3:19 "Most people that buy a gaming laptop will use a mouse most of the time"
    That's the kind of mentality that results in cheap quality and leads to low sales. The "most" people I know who shop for gaming laptops are intending to use it for BOTH work & play, they want a device that can do anything and everything you throw at it and work well on its own without needing to buy extra things.

    This is a proper review. Gaming bench is such a waste of space when they all have somewhat same specification. All the drama over 1 or 2 fps on a mobile device. Almost none of the midrange laptop have proper cooling for overclocking.
    I bought the GF66 for Cad, virtualization. programming, excel, word, programming, movie, casual(photoshop, premiere & gaming). It's basically a laptop that does everything. Nobody mention how fun it is to not switch refresh rate to watch 24P content when the display is 144hz.
    MSI really should fix the 144hz to 60hz for eco mode. Most people have a brain would buy this product from checking the spec & built material for College or University.

    I'd say this is a good as it gets. More expensive models like MSI's GE and GS series, Asus's Zephyrus series and Dell's Alienware series are more for the super powerful on the go, desktop replacements. But since RTX 3060's in laptops are about a 10% performance dip compared to desktop counterparts, safe to assume 3060s are very good gaming laptop component's. Also a nice 1080p 144hz panel is already adequate for most people. But if you want more, options are there. I think I'll try to aim for mid tier gaming options with just enough power and performance to last me a couple of years.

    Please stop saying "in my opinion" after each and every sentence. Seriously annoying. We are here to listen to your opinion and we are totally aware of it. Thank you.

      Don't buy a laptop for extreme long hardcore gaming session. The cooling & power isn't meant for those use. Also, yes you can turn off the LED on the keyboard.
