Ryan, i have the 1 ton, long wheelbase version of this van (with the 350ci v8) and it is horrendously underpowered. To get it to rotate is no small feat.
One of the customers at the last shop I worked at had one (a 96?) with relatively low miles, around 60k if I'm correct. Well taken care since it was new.
liam it's because Vans were considered cool in the 70's and maybe the 80's...sometimes with badass murals and designs. They had a surfer or hippy vibe about them. but as time went on, they slowly got stigmatized with a creepy/abducter/pedo/homeless like image. Just the way it is. Bad mpg doesn't help either
Loved the van shots all edited like a show video. Great way to look around at all the best bits without it taking ten minutes. Another great fun video thank you so much for the effort you put into it dude ✌🏼

Runs strong at 393000 miles with the 318ci engine. Watching these videos makes me want to build a Dajiban!

Do you know of or have any ideas? I spent a year in Okinawa (80s) this video kinda gave me flash backs lol.

My brother used to have a Ford Astrovan AWD stickshift that was a drifting BEAST. It looked rough on the outside, but was super clean under the skin, so people wouldn’t break into it in Miami.
Everytime I watch your videos about unique drift cars, it makes me go on autotrader to look at a potential next car! Great video by the way, love your channel
318 is a great little motor. Same as the Chevy 305 and the Ford 302. For decades they were the real workhorses that powered the average American vehicle.
This is awesome. I'm from the US and grew up with my father owning a few Dodge Vans. They're of course a dime a dozen here, and I almost want to get one and do my own version of one of these. I understand what he means, it's hard to explain but there's just something awesome about a lowered one of these on those little wheels.
I had a 90 Dodge conv. van and it would drift like a champ . A shift kit in the auto trans and second gear was a tire screecher and still get me 24 MPG .
Old Dodge B van makes for a cool fun van. I do not think you will see the current Dodge Ram Promaster (Fiat Ducato badge clone) doing this or ever being this much fun.
That looked awesome, not much speed but so much fun!! Watching that van drift was superb, fantastic really on an auto open diff - oh I envy you!!! I am amazed that the tires lasted so well considering the punishment they must have gone through with all that weight! Great vid Alexi, thank you very much!
