In Scotland you're not an adult till 18.
If that is the case why can a 16 or 17-year-old move out of their parent's home, leave school, get married and have children?
In Scotland, a 16-17 year old person can: Move out of their parent's home without permission, vote in Scottish elections, drink alcohol (with a meal), change their name, consent to sexual intercourse, enter a civil partnership or marriage, learn to drive and have a license, have your own home, leave school, have a bank account and access their services, have a full-time job and pay National Insurance, earn the minimun wage, pay tax, choose your own GP, stand for election, join the Armed Forces, be legally responsible for babysitting, apply for a passport, get a piercing without parental consent, and give blood.
Though, weirdly, you can still be adopted until 18.
